Mgmt, location, food, fun, pool, parking, bikes, and transportation. Love this place, even with stationary docks.

Dockmaster Rick apologetically offered us a commercial slip when the boat in our expected slip had engine issues. He helped us tie off next to a large dinner ship and treated us well. Will return.

Dockmaster Frank works very hard to be helpful to incoming cruisers and is fair in how he manages boats. The location of the marina is excellent, but it is a diamond in the rough. Sadly our beloved City of St. Pete must not consider the investment in improving the docks and services a priority. No Wifi. 208 power.

MSM is now among our very favorite locations to visit. Surrounded by historical whaling ships and other craft, our 55' Kadey Krogen trawler weathered the passing remnants of Hurricane Ida easily, and without a sense a major system passing us. The harbormaster, Greg, has a voice that will ease any captain into an unfamiliar marina, provided a fender board for our use, and shared the background of this extraordinary seaport museum and still active ship builiding/restoration location. Decent wifi and power, and you could easily spend a week and not see all this museum/town/marina has to offer. The museum staff clearly love their work, and include many with extensive knowledge of whaling history, seamanship, or wookworking. Tour the Charles W. Morgan, a whaling ship from the 1800's, currently being refurbished. An easy walk north through beautiful landscape takes you to an Aquarium (will have to see next year--no time this year), groceries and more. Head south from the marina and you'll find a plethora of restaurants/bars/shops in an idyllic maritime village. We became a museum member because it reduced the price of our slip fees. But after our visit, we'll likely want to remain a member to ensure this gift to maritime and history fans will remain healthy. You do not want to miss this port. Highly recommend. Thanks, Greg, for kindly and patiently answering my plethora of pre-docking questions, and for helping to make our stay so memorable. See you next Spring.

Spoke with harbormaster, and when they can be, this VERY busy marina mooring field is accommodating. Love it here. Lovely scenery. Launch service if needed. In the heart of Edgartown. Will definitely return.
