About

Introduction:

This swing-type railroad bridge traverses the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW)s at Mile Marker 721 on Kingsley Creek, south of Fernandina Beach, and is usually open.

Navigating the Bridge:

The Waterway channel is well-marked and has good depths here. The swing bridge has a closed vertical clearance of five feet and a fender system with a 90-foot horizontal clearance continues past the railroad bridge, and then under a twin fixed bridges with 65-foot fixed vertical clearances. Currents can be swift here on either tide, so it pays to be mindful of your relative position when transiting the bridge.

Local Notices to Mariners:

Local Notices to Mariners are available online from the U.S. Coast Guard.
