Solomons Yachting Center offers state-of-the-art floating docks accommodating vessels up 200'. Each floating finger pier is full length, all set in a well-protected harbor.
Our amenities include a fuel dock with ETHANOL FREE gas, diesel, and P/O, well-maintained swimming pool, the Bluefish Pub, courtesy vehicle, bikes, store, WiFi, laundry facility, and much more. A beautiful large, elevated deck surrounds the pool, offering great vistas of the harbor, cool breezes, and a central location for our many activities and social functions.
Solomons Yachting Center is a short walk or bike-ride away from all the many restaurants, museums and attractions Solomon has to offer. We are located right in the heart of Solomons Island, Maryland!
We would definitely stay here again. We had a good time and the staff were great. The pub is nice and the pizza was very good. The facilities are very clean and functional but could use an update. We will be coming back on our way back up next year
Easy in easy out, convenient fuel, great for transient.
Helpful staff, comfortable stay. We were able to use a courtesy car for a grocery run
Friendly people. Great dock. Watched the sun come up across the bay. Gorgeous
People are really friendly. Dock and facilities were some of the best on our trip to Florida.
Very nice family run operation. Location was superb. On-site pub and pool were convenient. I’ll come back.
First time at Solomons Yachting Center on Sept 19th. I believe I was in the same slip as the last reviewer. I agree it was a tight space but the staff let me know in advance, and had 2 staff on the dock to assist. We arrived at 6pm but they are open until 7pm which is helpful, as many marina offices close at 4 or 5pm. My boat is a 38 ft sailboat with a 12 foot beam and we only had two or three feet between us and the other boat (large power boat) but he seems prepared for this as he has some large fenders ready. Got in and out of the slip without issue. The staff helped us with lines again in the morning. Bathrooms are basic but individual rooms that are very clean with a shower in each. It was a short 10 minute walk to dinner. Good location and the staff was helpful and responsive. We were happy with our stay and will stay here again when in Solomons Island.
The slip was very small. Only had 12" of clearance. You had to back down the alley to back into the slip. Very dangerous!
Good staff, loaner car but poor showers and weak wifi
The floating docks, restaurant, and pool were great!
Upon arrival, filled up at the fuel dock, then was directed to our slip and they assisted with tie up. Wonderful facility, friendly employees, free weekend entertainment and a clean bath house.
Staff was intentional in making our stay as positive as possible
Great accommodations and very friendly, helpful crew !
Had a great view of the town. Service was good. The only con for us was the walk into town. But we got our steps in for the day.
Stayed there twice recently. A clean family run marina with a great pool and within walking distance of many restaurants. Groceries and West Marine area almost too far to walk, but the marina makes a car available to drive to them. The fairways are a little narrow, making maneuvering into an assigned slip a harder than in marinas with wider fairways. Both times we were assigned to slip D7 - beware the large boat in the slip on the other side of the finger pier floating dock has a large stair to his boat in the middle of the finger pier that is permanently attached to the dock and blocks more than 1/2 its width. If it is easy to exit your boat from the stern half, you might want to back into this slip. Another quirk of this marina is that the dock hands tie your boat to cleats with a "waterman's tie" which is NOT the "cleat hitch" most sources recommend. (Google the term and there are several videos showing how to tie to a cleat properly.) The dockhands will not be insulted if you retie the lines and their initial tie is safe for short periods in benign conditions. But many boats prefer more "Bristol" practices and it makes an odd first impression for more traditional boaters.
Very friendly staff. Had a maintenance issue. Dave and Jessie were very helpful. Used the loaner car to get groceries. We will return.
We cruised in on Thursday and out on Sunday. Temps were 90°+ all 4 days but not to worry with the inviting pool and the bar only 25 steps away. Always one of our favorite go-to spots on the Chesapeake where we enjoy friendly people, great customer service, delicious eats, generous pour libations and live music!
Great stay - team is very caring and was able to accommodate every request we had.
Nice pool. Nice people. Great view from many slips.
First, great location to walk to town so this is a plus. Second, floating dock is nice too and the shower facilities are fine. If you are going to get gas, be prepared to open hatches, engine hatch and for your crew disembark. Also be sure the dock attendant doesn’t untie your lines until you are ready. If you like a quiet marina, this may not be a place for you.
Great marina with really nice floating docks, clean bathrooms and a super staff!
We love Solomons. Perfect in and out approaching. We love how David Ashley Abell take very good care of us.
Excellent . Had a plumbing problem that was brilliantly fixed
Friendly, clean, and good value.
They only provided about 18 feet of dockage for a 28 foot boat
The is walking distance to two restaurants and it has a bar with bar food at the marina. The staff are very nice. They have always made room for us.
Tremendous help with fuel, pump out and docking. Nice folks in the marina.
Disappointing. Pump out not working. We were told it was out of order and sent to another marina for pump out. Assigned a slip that was not wide enough for our beam. Ended up on the fuel dock. Needed ice, but dockhands more interested in fishing then being at the dockhouse.
Good power. Floating docks…many brand new wood planking. Nice staff!
We enjoyed our 1 night stay at Solomon’s Yachting Center. Docks are in excellent condition, WiFi was excellent, and Restrooms were clean. The Marina is only a few blocks away from the Riverwalk, which is really nice. The only downside that I can think of, is that it does have a bit of a “Boatyard” feel to it
Nice marina . Would definitely stay again. The loner vehicle was a huge plus !
We loved staying here! The staff went out of their way to welcome us. Air conditioned bathrooms/ showers were a bonus, and we enjoyed the pool (connected to the kitchen/bar), where you can get food and drinks while enjoying the company of live-aboards, locals, and other transients. Even the kitchen and bar staff were so welcoming that it was hard to leave. Wish we could have stayed longer!
PROS: floating docks, scenic location, close walk to town, friendly dockmates and staff, individual bathroom/shower rooms, reasonable rates CONS: bathrooms need updating, although are clean but located next to bar and odd to hear partiers outside door while showering; grounds very dark at night and needs more lights (was essential to use a cell phone flashlight); our electric station was chewed up, had electricity but no light which made dock very dark at our boat.
Great floating docks. Easy in and out. Clean bathrooms. Good band by the pool Saturday night
Kind of tired good location is the best thing
They are always so friendly and accommodating! We stop at SYC every time we pass through Solomons. An excellent yacht yard too!
A nice marina. Beautiful views and restaurant with in walking distance. A helpful and knowledgable staff. Deep water and easy docking. Thank you for your hospitality we will be back in a few months. Moon River. Maggie and bear
Can't say enough good things about SYC. Staff was great and very helpful. The bathrooms were very clean and functional. THe pub was simple but good and the live music was a nice touch.
Outstanding value. Pool is swimmable, courtesy bicycles are well maintained, and a courtesy vehicle is available.
great access off the Bay and nice amenities. The bikes are a great touch for getting local flavor.
Just awesome. Super friendly staff, they stayed around past closing to ensure we got fuel and food at the local pub. Everyone went out of their way to be welcoming and ensure we had everything we need. Highly recommend this as an overnight or cruising destination. So much to do, great community.
We came in late in mid-May, just after re-opening. The staff was really helpful and provided us with a easy-access slip. As we went in search of dinner (take-out!), one of the crew reminded us that there were bikes to borrow. But the best part, when we called in, we mentioned we needed to obtain something unique. By the time we arrived, they had purchased what we needed and handed it to us. Service above and beyond any expectations.
Very accommodating to our uncertain schedule.
A lot of folks stop here. Anyone can give a bad review if they catch the marina at a time of a lot of hot water use, or just before cleaning time. We’ve stayed there quite a few times. Never had a need to complain. Individual rooms for a shower or a head. Food is great. Easy walk to a number of alternative restaurants, from burgers, pizza, etc, to more upscale offerings. In the summertime, one would have to go far to find a nicer pool setting, right next to the bar, for cold drinks, pizza, etc. Always a competitive fuel price. Will stay here again! PS.... This is a very fair review. No exaggerations here.
Awesome as usual. Dock master terrific and pizzas at the Bluefish were exquisite. It feels like family there.
Very quiet area. Easy in and out. Disappointed by the fact that the bar had the outdoor seating set as a bar facing the pool.
Friendly staff and patrons. Made us feel right at home. Bluefish Pub was a delight
Great marina and just a short walk to awesome restaurants
adorable area - we really enjoyed our stay - very protected, friendly staff. I wish they had a sign on the laundry room door... I circled the building twice looking for it...
Pro: Floating docks Cons: Bath/showers not clean
Ready to assist with docking. Friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities. We were a little exposed to passing wakes so were rocked to sleep.
Easy access from the Chesapeake Bay. Generally good marine facilities, but in need of some updates. WiFi access was free but only worth that as we frequently had no access. Bathroom and shower facilities were dirty so we chose not to use them. The restaurant was welcoming, and the bar tender was very nice. Food was a buffet for Cinco de Mayo and was very tasty. Unfortunately we only spent one evening and could not avail ourselves of all their features.
The service was superb. I would have rated it as a 5, but the shower was cold and the water presure was weak. They were completely accommodating, though, and took good care of us.
