Gulfport Municipal Marina lies on approximately eleven acres of land and approximately seven and one half acres of water. Marina property is surrounded by mostly residential single family homes. The marina basin is enclosed with a concrete seawall and provides one hundred ninety two wet slips open to the public. The marina includes twenty five dry boat storage spaces, ship store with restrooms and showers, public boat ramp with seventy boat trailer parking spaces, two fueling stations, lighted range markers and guest docking facility.
Clam Bayou is adjacent to the East side of the marina channel. The park offers several fishing docks as well as passive walking trails, dock walk, kayak launch and Osprey nests.
We enjoyed our stay again in Gulfport. Great staff & clean accommodations. Would definitely recommend to a friend
Great guys. Very helpful always. Great place for boating.
nice place, nice people, very helpful and accommodating after TS Debby wrecked the anchorage, moorings, allowed us safety at the transient dock until things get straightened out
Friendly staff, protected marina, wonderful stay.
Very helpful staff, clean facilities. The mooring was well maintained and we always felt safe. We definitely recommend this marina.
Great Marina with awesome staff. I enjoy docking at Gulfport!!
Marina staff is very helpful and friendly, they make you glad you stayed with them. Kudos to Tex and George.
The marina was just what the captain ordered. Pleasant and helpful staff. Ample and safe parking. We will definitely comeback again!
We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very helpful & friendly. Bathrooms upstairs were clean. Easy access to the Gulf and Tampa Bay
Gulf Port is one of our favorite locations to spend a few days. The restaurants are a short walk from the municipal docks. Gulfport Municipal Marina has some of the nicest employees. We had help docking, they had clean showers and nice clean facilities to do a load of wash. Easy access in and out. Gulf Port will always be one of stop over when passing through.
John was a great help. Marina well protected. Bit of a walk around to get to offices and facilities but not that big of a deal.
Gulfport Municipal gave a quick confirmation to my reservation request. The mooring was in good condition.
Had a really nice stay at Gulfport Municipal Marina. Staff were really great!. Very accommodating , helped us tie up...etc. Excellent transient slip.....overall just an awesome stay. We'll be back! Thank You.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They are organized and have good facilities.
Great showers and very assessable to dining by walking
Excellent facilities and staff. Gulfport is a wonderful place to visit!
The whole crew at Gulfport Municipal Marina were friendly and helpful. We arrived slightly later than office hours and John was there to deliver the restroom key to us. James accommodated our stay as much as possible. The restrooms were always clean. Gate security was a bonus, knowing we could visit with local friends and not worry about "problems".
Gulfport has a fabulous waterfront. Put in your steps and enjoy. A do over. Thx friendly staff.
We have been coming to Gulf Port marina for over 10 years. The bathrooms are super clean and the docks are secure. The walk into town is about 10 minutes and has plenty of eclectic restaurants bars and shops.
Excellent location. Our mooring ball looked brand new.
The mooring field is an important asset to West Coast boaters, but it has fallen into neglect and disrepair. The reservations system seldom works accurately and the mooring balls are very poorly maintained.
nice facility very well protected helpful staff
Nice town. Marina and restrooms/showers pretty good. Laundry good but not free. No pool. Staff is nice. A bit pricey. Location was very good. 6 blocks to downtown and far enough away to not hear the loud music. Not a whole lot of transient floating docks but we got a reservation OK
Wonderful, quiet marina. Nice Old Florida town. Great dog walking trails right next door.
Employees are nice. I was very disappointed in the laundry room. Needed sweeping the entire 10 days of our stay, no place to fold clothes, cleaning supplies scattered on table, trash needed dumping. We could only get 1 gate fob, the one we got wouldn't open the gate where our friends were docked. Dock carts are too heavy, they are more a construction cart. Nice marina with room to improve.
Update! Feb, 2024- Always a great experience. The staff is very accommodating. We love the area, lots of great little shops and restaurants within walking distance of the marina. It looks skinny getting in (we have a 4 ft draft) but if you follow the markers and channel, it's fine even at low tide. One of our favorite hidden gems! Nice marina. A bit off the ICW path but great fuel prices and nice and protected. The staff is very friendly and there are some great restaurants just a short walk away. We'll be back! We came back and our stay was as good as the first time! Great staff and downtown Gulfport is excellent!
Great marina, great staff! Joe helped us tie up and get all situated even though they were a little shorthanded. The Marina was full so access keys were limited. We usually like to each have a key…that was the only hitch! Gulfport was a cool little town. We were only there for one night but could have easily stayed more. We would go back!
The dockmasters were helpful and the facility was exactly what we expected.
Great 2-night stay on the transient dock. Nice facilities. Friendly staff. Secure. When staying at the transient dock, be sure to watch the depth. Our shoal draft (4.5 ft) monohull difficulty leaving the slip at max low tide. Didn’t affect the stay but the tide can affect your travel times.
Nice marina, floating docks in great condition. Close to restaurants and bars. A big storm came though while we were there and we felt well protected.
Had a great stay here. Close to town (about a mile walk). Great staff and helpful.
Very nice facility. Clean heads downstairs and the upstairs facilities are even better!
We enjoyed our stayed. We were at the marina a week, ending December 31, 2023. Clean facilities and helpful staff. Pet friendly. Nice area to walk the dog. We were dock along the floating temporary dock. Which is a plus. At low tide we saw 4.5 feet.
REVIEW DECEMBER, 2023 We really enjoyed our stay at Gulfport Municipal Marina. This is our 2nd stay at GMM. The staff was helpful. Thanks TEZ for all your help! GMM is located close to a great town with many shops, restaurants, pubs, and a beach. There are many events in town to enjoy. It is also very close to the Pinella’s Bike/Hike Trail, just a short bike ride to downtown St. Pete. Suggestions: Our first stay, we were lucky enough to stay on the floating dock which is within the marina’s gated area. This time we stayed at a long finger dock, which was gated, but the gate was at the end. We had to leave the fenced-in area every time we left the dock. Now this may not seem like an issue, however, we only had one fob. This means: -we always had to have the fob with us to go anywhere (bathroom, shower, laundry, office, etc.) -you needed the fob to get out! This was ridiculous. We both had to be together to let each other in/out of the dock or bathroom area. VERY frustrating. -the gates are on too tight of a spring, closing on your back if you are trying to get something off the dock. -when we left, we had to walk our fob back, then a staff member had to walk us back to open the gate for us to walk on our dock -we did not like the fact that we had to “leave” the marina to go to the bathroom, etc. The fence needs to be a couple feet further so ALL docks are within the gated area Now, all this does not mean we will not stay again. We really LIKE GMM! We plan to come again. It is a safe and clean marina. Unfortunately the best dock (the floating one which is close to office area and within fenced area) is used for bigger boats (ours is a 36) Hopefully these suggestions will be considered and modified in the future. Thank you GMM & TEZ! REVIEW from DECEMBER, 2022 We really enjoyed our stay at Gulfport Municipal Marina. The staff was very helpful. Thanks Tez! The WiFi was good, docks and all were very good. Bathrooms were very clean and private stalls! One of the best we've been to. It's located very close to a great town with many shops, restaurants, and pubs. One suggestion: washers had a flat rate, dryers were 25 cents/5 minutes (I think). Prefer a flat rate. LOL Would like to have extended our stay. Thank you GMM! ~ Horizon Bound
Awesome stay! The staff were very accommodating and easy to work with. Amenities are clean and they had everything you need.
I have stayed at this marina several times now. I trailer in, and it’s a great little harbor to hang out in. They have everything you typically need and are super friendly. A real gem. I trailer in, and the boat ramp is so bad now that anything more than a 22 ft center console or a flats boat can’t use the ramp without potentially damaging the trailer. The drain grates have now collapsed into the drain trench causing the trailer tires to effectively fall into a hole. My 3 axle trailer and 12K boat can no longer use this ramp. I like this place and hope Gulfport expedites these repairs
Very helpful staff and quiet Marina. Close to downtown. Pump out at your slip.
The staff was so responsive and courteous. Love Gulf Port
Excellent protection in 50kt + Gusts! Very nice people with easy walking access to the Gulfport waterfront town about 3/4 mile from marina.
Excellent professional marina. They need to provide drop key boxes inside their gates for transients to key drop prior to departure
We love Gulfport Municipal! Clean showers, excellent staff, all the amenities are appreciated.
The team there was super friendly and helpful! Great location.
Originally we had made arrangements with the marina to stop here for just a couple hours. We just needed to leave our boat while we went to pick up an order that we had placed at West Marine nearby. The staff was so helpful while fueling up, pumping out, and topping off our water tanks that we decided just to stay in the marina for the evening and enjoy the area. Super nice facility with great people.
Originally asked for a mooring, but they said one wasn't available. Ended up on a quiet dock on the far side of the marina. Marina staff was helpful in getting to our spot and secured. There are some tight spots when maneuvering in the marina and traffic from the fuel docks and boat ramp can make it lively so use caution. We need 6' of water and followed the channel the long way around to the marina entrance, some locals said we could go direct from the bridge, but didn't try it. We cooked on board so didn't sample any of the local spots. Definitely a great overnight spot convenient to the gulf or bay.
Great place to stay and regroup for the week. Helpful, friendly staff and excellent facilities. The only issue we had was one evening after hours, the key fob wouldn’t work and we had to climb the gate to get to our boat.
The docks were fine. Very well protected. Power (50A) was good. Restrooms clean. Only two issues, one due to the marina, and the other probably not. * The WiFi code we were given did not work, and nobody seemed to know another. * We were next to a lighted parking lot (no problem with that). When the lights came on at about 7 PM all television reception was destroyed on every channel. It was still bad in the early morning but cleared up completely when the lights went off. This is not a marina problem, but they may be able to contact someone in the Gulfport city offices to get this fixed.
Great place, nice people, convenient to town, facilities could be a little cleaner. Town is great, love O’Maddy’s pub. We’ll be back
Great for overnight stay, easy access into downtown Gulfport for bars and restaurants.
Great floating dock for transients; this a marina not a resort.
Great marina great service. Very reasonable prices for both dockage and fuel
Gulfport Marina is simply the easiest, most helpful marina I have ever dealt with. Prices are reasonable, the convenience is off the charts, and they provide all of the necessities to make a weekend, week, or entire month enjoyable so you focus on getting the most out of your boating experience.
The Wi-Fi was a bit glitchy, the staff did try to help as best they could. We’ll be back, other than that a very nice and friendly marina. Great location.
We have stayed at Gulfport Municipal Marina a number of times in the past and always been happy. Unfortunately we are unable to say the same this time. We felt like we were intruding on the staff's time. We could not get as simple a thing as a pump out completed. We are writing this visit off as an anomaly.
Mooring field has alot of power boat traffic cutting through. It would be nice if it was a no wake zone. Distance from mooring field to marina is a some what far. If you are rowing eat your wheaties. Gulfport waterfront is a blast. Overall a good location
Gulfport marina is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful when I checked in. We wanted to walk to the waterfront area of Gulfport about 3/4 miles away, but the weather got bad so we stayed on the boat. There's nothing to do right at the marina.
Helpful staff and clean marina. Will return again.
Stayed in the mooring field. Great marina staff and facilities. Nice secure dingy dock at marina. Another public dingy dock near mooring field. Great town, great food.
Nice people, good diesel prices and good facilities.
Friendly and courteous.
Nice mooring. Unprotected from E- NE WIND. Great little town with easy dingy access. Access thru Passé-A-Grille was a breeze. A must if in the St Pete area!
We love coming to Gulfport. It is quiet and very friendly. We love walking to town and. Having a great meal. Lovely town to visit. Thank you.
Great place great people good food and local shopping within walking distance. Protected and quiet area
First class Marina, Fantastic staff, Thank you very much. Sven Bertelsen. Gulfport
Marina itself is very nice. kept clean, organized and staff is friendly and professional. the City of Gulfport makes it difficult to stay there by limiting the time you can stay on a mooring ball and especially by limiting the amount of time you can dock at the City dock and spend money in their stores. I tried repeatedly to talk to city officials about the revenue they were losing by limiting my access. they did not seem to care enough to come up with a solution
Great marina. Stayed two nights at the transient dock. Great protection from storm.restrooms, fantastic. Very clean. Staff was helpful and kind.
Staff wasn’t overly helpful & seemed bothered by questions. Also a long walk from our T dock to the bath house & office. The town itself was great though!!!! So much to do for a small town!!
The marina was great and the staff was super friendly and helpful!
Very nice marina. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Love the floating docks. Nice walk to town and shopping. Great fuel prices. We will stay there again.
Very nice marina. The main street was an easy walk from the marina. Great security and clean washroom/showers. This is a nice stop for fellow Great Loopers.
Great spot! Very well kept Marina. Managment and Staff are very accomadating. Excellent boat ramp ,and parking for truck and trailer is no problem for your entire stay. Floating transient dock is very convenient. Dog friendly! The trails at Clam Bayou are great for dog walking. Short walk to restaurants in Gulfport. Gas and pump out too. Great place to spend some time!
Great protected spot Always out of the wind and tide which makes for east docking Great friendly and laid back marina staff Good pricing Morning cans available
Loved this place. John was very helpful and attentive to all our needs. Would have liked it better if the restrooms and showers were cleaned during our stay.
Very helpful fuel dock staff -- had a stuck waste pump out cap and he lent me a solidly built steel wrench tool which did the trick\n\nHonor the range coming in -- especially beware of submerged pilings west side of the approach\n\nQuiet night on the transient dock, floating docks, medium walk to restaurants in town\n
Great Staff. It’s all about the people. Transient dock, fuel bathrooms ice sun dries and of course the town of Gulfport. Did I mention how great the staff is?
Really enjoyed this very well protected marina. Had reservation for Jan 11 & 12, then high wind & wave forecast necessitated that we stay 2 more nights. Staff was very accommodating. Less than mile walk to quaint downtown Gulfport, and an easy 6 mi Uber ride to St Pete & Dali Museum. Thanks Gulfport Muni Marina!
Nice, clean and well equipped marina with helpful dockhands.\nA bit shallow in the entry channel so watch your depth and the tide tables.
It was very nice - folks were pleasant.
We stayed at Gulfport Marina for a week. The transient dock was great, clean showers and nice walking trails. We made it to the Tuesday market and walked to town almost every day. Highly recommend!
Staff was great and helpful. Amenities were more of a 3 star rating though.
Easy to get in and docked at their transient dock. Marina employees helpful and courteous. Facilities clean and in in good repair. Conveniently, a boat ramp is located on the property and we were able to launch our dinghy there.
Calm and quiet in well protected marina on floating dock. Walking distance to downtown Gulfport and beachfront, restaurants, etc. Easy Uber ride to all the attractions that St. Pete has to offer.
WiFi was lousy. Bathrooms were okay but could use an update. Pumpout worked well and was free.
Stayed for a couple of nights to relax and really enjoyed the stay. It is a long walk around the parking lot to the marina office so Robert met us at our assigned slip with the security gate key. Without the key you cannot get in or out of dock gate. Fairly quiet even on the T end slip with power, water and pump-out on each dock. We are 45' and draw 40" and never saw less than 5' under us coming in, plenty deep at slip. Not much to do right at the marina but walk 5 blocks west through neighborhood and you are at the Gulfport Beach Recreation area with plenty of bars, restaurants and little shops. Three bars/restaurants had live music.
They accepted a 30 day reservation, then called and cancelled it. And they don't seem concerned about the now unmarked wreck 2 feet below the surface adjacent to the mooring field. Experienced significant damage and colliding with the wreck and having to be towed off sideways. Wreck had previously been marked but blew away during Ian.
Fantastic little marina. Clean, secure, inexpensive, combined with a courteous staff makes this a “must stay” marina. The city of Gulfport takes it’s marina seriously and it shows.
This is by far the best marina we’ve stayed, clean, organized and the costumer service was on point. Ramp quality was awesome, dock spotless overall best in town
UPDATE: Last weekend had another stay at this marina. You just can't beat the crew there and the facilities are always clean and tight (do wish the AC would be maintained during the night as 90 degrees at 10pm outside last Saturday had the shower rooms like a sauna). Apart for the heat in the bathrooms, the place is one of the most convenient locations between St. Pete and Clearwater. I hate to divulge this gem but they are too good not to share. Had reserved a four day weekend down on Longboat Key but the wind forced a late minute change. Got a last minute spot at GMM and they treated me like I was a regular. Met me at the gas pumps and walked me into my spot, checked me in with utmost professionalism and courtesy. Pump out and check out in the morning were equally superb. The staff is top notch and the facilities are equally as nice. A very nice location and will be a destination used quite often in the future. Highly recommended.
They said they had a pump out station but both didn’t work and didn’t have a hose next to it to wash down after. They did get us in right away when we called for a reservation and let us come in early. Wanted to charge $25 for doc keys to restroom and gate which they would of course refund when you return the key!!! so old school -why don’t they just get a keypad!? Small little shop with some novelty items, drinks and snacks. Meet a cool boater George who let us Borrow his car five minutes after we met him!! Gotta love how gracious boaters are!!
This is a great spot for an overnight. Overall the facilities are clean and freshly maintained with easy access. Transient dock is a little low for larger boats but fittings and utilities are well spaced and in good condition. The WiFi was under construction so very week when we were there. It will be a a big 5 star once that is up and running. Easy in and out if you are under 62 foot bridge Clarence otherwise plan a low tide passing. For some inexplicable reason the newly completed Pinellas Bayway Bridge was built with about 2 foot less clearance than the other bridges coming from Tampa bay. Gulfport beach walk is less than a mile and has loads of good music and food.
Stayed in mooring field, all went well. The only issue was that the fuel dock was closed to diesel boats due to maintenance issues on both pumps.
The moorings are well kept and right next to downtown. It's just a short dinghy ride. The instructions do not show the dinghy dock. Reservations are a little confusing since the moorings are first come, first served and so the Dockwa reservation is only for payment.
Very nice municipal marina walkable to the commercial / entertainment district in a charming little town. Nice facilities and friendly staff. Opportunities: bathrooms could use a bit more (cleaning) attention and a rack or shelf in the shower for toiletries would be helpful. But all in all, very positive. We will definitely return.
On transient dock for a few nights. Nice people clean restrooms. Safe dockage
Helpful staff and great fuel prices. Always a nice visit. Staff is friendly, low price fuel and a short walk to downtown Gulfport
Great location with excellent staff. Will come back!
Moment of Zen stayed on the transient dock at Gulfport Marina for two weeks in February 2022 and another two at the end of March. The well-protected marina is located off Boca Ciega Bay in charming Gulfport, a town within the famously charming city of St. Petersburg. The marina itself, especially for transients, couldn't be more pleasant. The transient dock is long, wide, and floating, with easy approach and knowledgeable assistance on docking. If you have your car, there is a large parking area just outside the gate. The marina has all the usual amenities, including internet, laundry and very nice bath facilities. Equally alluring is the opportunity of spending hours strolling along the town of Gulfport's shady, old-Florida low-traffic streets. It's small downtown area is a pleasant half-dozen blocks or so away, with uncommon restaurants and shops to further idle away the time.
Very nice Marina with floating transient dock. The facilities were very well maintained and clean. The Marina is about 1 mile walk from downtown. I would use this Marina again!
Great friendly marina! There was a storm coming in I called George to extend our stay. He was very accommodating and put us in a slip for our stay. Highly recommend this marina!
crew at the fuel dock and the transient dock Were very courteous and helpful. Will definitely do Gulfport again. Convenient transportation to downtown Gulfport would be very helpful other than bicycle or walking.
Great marina with floating dock. Bath house and laundry new and clean. Quaint small old FLorida town with some great restaurants and bars
Pros: peaceful overnight stay on the transient dock. There was no breeze so there were no halyards dinging on masts, no loud noises from the area around the marina. Marina staff were pleasant and professional. Water in the morning shower was just right, you just have to be patient at first. Cons: nowhere except the shower floor to put your soap or shampoo. No shelf near the sink to set items on for use. The slanted mirror was mounted too low over the sink to see anything above my chin.
The staff were great and very helpful with docking, and when you needed anything. A very friendly place.
Fantastic service and facilities. Nice new bathrooms and hangout room. The only suggestion I would make would be some clearer directions to where the transient slip are located. Signage maybe? Either way I strongly recommend this marina. Very accommodating.
Friendly staff that did extra for our late arrival. Clean facility. Would stay here again.
Nice long transient dock and dockhand helped us tie up. Great facility. We walked to the beach area with lots of restaurants and shops - about .7 mile. Its a bit tight getting to the transient dock but we had a great stay.
Transient docks were on the same dock as the charter fishing, shelling, etc. party boats. Therefore, the gate to the marina was left wide open much of the time. This was a security issue and needs to be addressed. Otherwise, the marina was a great place to spend a few days with good shower facilities and a small marine store.
Well maintained moorings. Easy in and out. Close to public dinghy dock.
Great marina and services. Transient dock is in great shape. Bathrooms and showers clean and nice to have separate facilities just for slip holders. Staff are great. Easy walk to downtown Gulfport with fun restaurants. Highly recommend!
Nice stop. No complaints. Personnel helpful. Lots to do in surrounding area.
Excellent facility, courteous professional service and great fuel prices.
We picked up a mooring ball off Gulfport to meet some friends for dinner. The mooring field is very convenient to the beautiful dinghy dock at the casino. The balls were in good shape and appeared well maintained. Only 4 stars because there is very little protection from West and South winds. It was blowing from the north while we were there and the night was very comfortable.
The staff is great. Facilities are great for me, and ship's store is small, but stocked very well for your needs. The only complaint that I have is that I am only transient, since the marina is filled. I would have made this my homeport, if I could have.
Due to late arrival we called around 3;00 pm and spoke with Tez. He indicated that he would leave a key for the dock on the ice machine, but unfortunately he forgot, leaving us stranded at the dock. Fortunately, other guests shared their key. VERY INCOVVIENT. The marina should comp us that night!
Personnel was very attentive at our arrival. Daz was amazing, very helpful and personable! Easy acces in and out from the marina. Felt safe very quiet at night time!!!
I love Gulfport! We always have such a blast. Great location for the marina and within walking distance of many places to shop and eat, all of which is awesome!!!
Good, helpful staff. We were on a reasonably priced mooring right off town of Gulfport, which is a nice little place with lots of restaurants and bars. Dinghy dock in town was just rebuilt when we left. We dinked about 1.3 NM into marina to go ashore. Boca Ciega Bay has a bit of fetch so can get a little choppy in a breeze, but not much current so boat rides into waves. Weekends and holidays can also produce some chop from boat traffic. Enjoyed our stay. If we get back around this way will likely come back here.
Again we had a great experience. Nice staff and helpful. Thanks to all.
John and James were amazing on our welcoming!! Great marina!!
Sorry to do only 2 stars this visit May 23rd 2021 but... We arrived there around noon time from Clearwater after a 3.1/2 hours of sailing. We did call the marina before we left Clearwater and we were told yes we have a slip, call us when you get closer. Then on arrival we were told to dock on a T-dock across the gass station. Not a real slip with pylons and no robber fenders risking damages to our 38 ft sail boat. There was a strong current in the marina and since that dock wasn't floating the help we were told was coming to help was not there one of the 2 managers was rather rude expressing his frustration as if "an other idiot came to the marina" To make things worst later on before 5:00pm (the office closes at 5:00) I did see empty spots on the floating dock and i asked if we can spend the night there? The answer was no we are expecting other boats.... Next morning those slips were still empty and available. 2 years ago i would have given it a 5 star as we loved it there and the treatment was much better. Thank James for your good nature and helping.
Can't say enough good things about this marina. Came down for a long weekend for daughter's college graduation and needed a place to keep boat on water for a couple days. Every place was full or didn't do overnight dockage. Ran into FWC Officer Ross, great guy,, he made 1 phone call to this marina and explained the situation.....of course they were full, but no worries, they came up with a spot for us. James and his gang at the marina are top notch! Very friendly and more than accommodating. Marina has gas and diesel fuel, live bait and a few grocery items as well. Also, have a 2 lane boat ramp with plenty of parking for size of marina. Again, just a great all around marina with a great staff.. .Thanks again James for they stay!
Well run marina. Close to downtown Gulfport.
This marina is Excellent! We have stayed at many places over the years and this is at the tops. We stayed 2 nights and It is out of the way from boat traffic and freeway traffic. You get a good nights sleep tied to the slip. NO Noise ! They have new showers/bathrooms upstairs and a nice large common room for gathering. Free Wifi! We bought beer, sandwiches, and fuel as well. The staff is amazing!!!! O'Maddys Pub in Gulfport is .5 miles away. You can walk or uber it depending on weather. The marina let us borrow 2 bicycles for free and we peddled there in 3 minutes. You get a key to the gates and showers and this place is very secure. We felt comfortable leaving our boat unlocked with keys in it. Booking through Dockwa made it a breeze !!! We will definetely go back !!!!! Ron and Charlene
Always a pleasure to stay at Gulfport marina. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The historic downtown is a just a short walk or bike ride away.
We rented a mooring ball, but also came in to purchase fuel and take on water. The facilities are nice and they have a dinghy dock for those renting a mooring ball.
Everyone was very accommodating. Very nice to have gracious hosts. The dinghy dock at the mooring field is a bit difficult to navigate as the anchored boats, which is the majority of boats, take up a lot of the room. It is a floating dock and can get very rough with boats blowing through the mooring field. If I had a new dinghy, I probably wouldn’t use the dinghy dock!
Got there at 5:30 and was told was too late for a shower
Stayed on a mooring for two months earlier this season because we had twork on chain plates and the windlass. The location is very convenient to St. Petersburg but without the density. We grew to love the town of Gulfport and found the marina staff friendly and accommodating. Our only complaint is related to the fetch with wind from SE to W. But that's life on the water, eh?
These guys have a great set up. The moorings are well maintained, the staff is very responsive and everything runs smoothly. The diesel price is the best in the area and access in and out of the harbor is easy. We will be back!!
Great, professional and courteous staff, and a well maintained marina. Look forward to our stays there.
Stayed on a town mooring for the month of February. Great town, always something going on and boaters are welcomed. Marina services were excellent on the occasions that we went in for supplies, fuel and water. George was more than accommodating and, when not booked, allowed us to tie up for a few hours waiting for an instacart delivery as the mooring field is a pretty far row for our motor less Avon. Only suggestion is to try to expand the mooring field dingy dock as it gets really crowded.
We stayed on a mooring for a month. Very nice area, the marina staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The city of Gulfport is a short dinghy ride and has a quirky, Key West vibe. Restaurants, bars and shops are all within walking distance from the town dinghy dock. And don’t miss the Tuesday Market! The town dinghy dock is usually pretty full as it is shared with those on the moorings as well as those anchored outside the mooring field. And unfortunately, there are those who tie up with 2 foot painters. But, we always found a spot to tie up. The marina is a little ways from the mooring field. Depending on the winds, could be a wet ride. The laundry facilities are adequate, never had to wait to use one or both of the machines. The dinghy dock at the marina was great, never overcrowded. Provisioning is not close. Publix and other larger grocery stores were approximately 3 miles away, so not very convenient. There is plenty of public transportation, but with Covid in full swing, we chose to avoid that. The mooring field is pretty much protected from the north and east. Not very well protected from the south or west. Can be a bit rolly from the ICW traffic, mainly on the weekends. The city has a pump out boat that comes out to the mooring field on Tuesdays and Thursdays, no charge. During our month long stay, we received many packages delivered to the marina office and had no problems with them getting to us. When in Gulfport again, we would not hesitate staying here!
Marina very well protected from wind in all directions. Bit of a circuitous route around bay to get to very clearly marked entrance channel. Stayed on very nice floating transient/dinghy dock. Wind blew 20 to 30 knots first 2 days of our stay & we barely moved. Because dock is dual purpose, its a bit low. We were glad we had our folding stool aboard. Restrooms were very nice.
Mooring balls are great BUT Dockwa should have had a warning that mooring field is restricted to SAILBOATS ONLY. This is an unfortunate rule
Good service, nice attentive staff, and low fuel price. Great floating dock.
Dinghy dock badly overloaded with too many tenders— on Tuesday morning! Dinghy dock closing down completely for 24 hours for fireworks. Otherwise great mooring field and delightful town.
Staff was super helpful in making sure we found our mooring (ended up arriving after dark). Day slips were damaged from a storm but dinghy dock was open. Town was a blast...great food, drinks, shopping, and hospitality. We’ll be back soon.
Great little spot with access to shore and a clean marina. Several restaurants and Walmart close by and the mooring field was filled with great helpful people. I recommend this hidden gem.
Fantastic staff fantastic security fantastic facility across the board.
We stayed at Gulfport about 2 months ago on our overnight during our ASA certification. We are actually returning today to stay a week after purchasing our 1993 Hunter 35.5. Although we had our instructor they were very helpful docking and came out to help with the lines. As newbies at docking they were very understanding 😊 it was a very nice marina in a great area and we are happy to be moving there for a week from the St Pete Municipal Marina. With more amenities and a very well protected marina it was a great experience. We stayed on the transient floating dock but I think other docks may be fixed but you need to confirm that depending on which slips you are in. Showers are very clean and nice and small marina store is very convenient. Very well protected just off the ICW. The approach is small so check the instructions about their private aids. Less than 10 min walk through a quiet residential neighborhood puts you in old town Gulfport where there is a nice little pier, lots of restaurants on the water and a small quaint “beach town feeling” Main Street with shops and more restaurants. We will post another review after staying a full week with updates but I expect we will have the same feelings of this stay as well. Just hope docking in 15+ knot winds for newbies is as easy as last time 😊
Friendly service; nice floating dock. Restrooms/showers could use some upgrading.
It was nice marina. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Staff were very friendly. Looking forward staying there in the future
Excellent people and location
Always a nice experience when staying at this marina. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of transient dock. Shower, washer/dryer, fuel pump out stations etc. The Marina is a quaint and peaceful place located in the small town of Gulfport FL. which has a bit of a Key West vibe to it. The marina is only a couple of blocks from downtown Gulfport's shops, bars, pier and bay. The town is easily accessible by bicycle or walking.
The docks and shower facilities are clean and well taken care of. We stayed over a week and like the location being close to town. The only problem we had, and it is a big one, was having an important boat part mailed to the marina and they lost it in their offices and never gave it to us. We asked every day and they said it had not been delivered. After we left the marina to move onto our next destination on the loop, they called us and said they found it. Someone had covered it up with "stuff" and they didn't find it until we were gone. After 2 weeks and a promise to mail it to an address we gave them, we find out they did not follow through and it's sitting at the gulf port post office. Now a month has past and we still don't have our part. Beware of having anything mailed to you at this marina.
We stayed in the mooring field which is directly off the beach in the downtown section of town. We only traveled to the Municipal Municipal Marine once to pickup guests. The dingy ride was a very long wet ride (approximately one mile?) We saw no reason to make this trip again even though the bay calmed down during our stay. The staff was very helpful during our short visit. The city dock near the casino has a small dingy dock which we used for the balance of our stay. Lots of restaurants and shops in this area. We would visit again but may opt to anchor just outside of the mooring field as many local visitors did while we were here. The only drawback to using the dingy dock is that it is limited to four hour in a 24 hour period. However I don’t think they enforce this. However, I wouldn’t leave it there overnight. The dock is closed from 3:00am to 7:00am. That would be very easy to enforce. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return again.
Tony and Dennis we're great. Their staff was well trained very polite. I had some electrical problems which were resolved quickly. We look forward to bringing our boat club back soon. Thanks Dennis, Tony and George for all your help. Ed Marsh
Nice marina, close to the town center. Staff is very good and helped with the docking and setup. This was the second time using the marina and we will use them again.
Staff very friendly and helpful with arrival and gas. Great price. Easy walk to town. Wonderful restaurants and shops. New private bathrooms, showers, day room. Floating dock for transients. Not finger piers. Wonderful harbor hosts with AGLCA came to dock to introduce selves.
Gulfport Municipal Marina is great. The staff are responsive and always helpful. The docks are well protected and convenient to Gulfport. The mooring are in excellent shape and in an excellent location right off downtown Gulfport.
Awesome marina! We needed to have some work done on our boat, and they were very accommodating. Unpretentious marina that has everything boaters need. Located in walking distance to lots of restaurants.
Great we felt very secure in a storm with 30+ MPH winds on a mooring. Great dinghy dock in town.
Loved being able to stay at the Mooring Field and having everything so close was the best. We loved all the restuarants!
Plenty of room for our catamaran at this mooring field. Took the dinghy in to the dinghy dock and walked a few steps to O'Maddy's for a nice late lunch with music. Only issue is that music carries out to the field and lasts till about 1130.
Great place to cruise into. Staff and facilities are top notch!
Very accommodating staff, great facilities, walking distance to downtown Gulfport. Easy channel to and from the Gulf of Mexico. Stay between the channel markers coming into Pass-A-Grill Channel.
Our experience at Gulfport Marina was great! The Marina is walking distance to downtown Gulfport and and the employees were very helpful and friendly. Bob was great with helping us with our first fueling & pump-out. The showers could use an upgrade. It otherwise a great Marina with ice cream too!!! : )
Very accommodating docking assistance. Power outlet was broken but they made it work and planned to fix it on Monday.
Great staff who will work with you for what you need. The transient slips are easy to get into and out of. Small laundry facility. The surrounding area of Gulfport is small but always fun - there's a floating boat/dinghy dock that's free for 4 hours at a time; the casino isn't for gambling but more of a community event center; great brunch spots and great local restaurant/bars. The mooring field is a bit out of the way and they're still working out a dinghy dock if you choose to grab a ball (but the staff are more than happy to work with you to accommodate your needs). You will need to contend with the occasional rude power boater who can't help but to speed through the moorings. Sailing is a blast in Boca Ciega Bay where the marina is located. Beware if you anchor out as holding isn't all that good and after a 20+ knt blow, there's often a boat that didn't heed the warning and gets pushed up ashore. Pump outs are included and easy... a boat comes out to you if you're on a ball, or just pull up to the fuel dock in the marina itself. The fuel dock's pumps are unexpectedly fast - so keep that in mind if you're used to taking more than a few minutes to fill your tanks. Internet is fast but does not extend out to the mooring field. The bay is well protected from weather and is extremely easy to get to all of the other places within the area like Pass a grille, the Gulf, St Pete Beach, the ICW, Tampa Bay, etc. There's easy access to the nearby Pinellas Trail if you like biking that spans the width of St Petersburg. If you like kayaking, Clam Bayou is just around the corner. There's a free tram you can call up if you don't want to walk within the city of Gulfport. Excellent and easy access to any marine services you need in the area. Boat.US towboats, coast guard, and FWC are all stationed in or about the marina. There's no shortage of family owned business and smiling faces to service your boat. The minuses only apply if you take a mooring ball. It's a 10-15 minute dinghy ride to the marina; power boaters will wake through the field despite well placed signage; and no wifi when moored. Despite all that, those negatives of the mooring field are balanced by being right in front of downtown Gulfport; moorings are for sailboats only. In any case, they're constantly improving the Marina and a lot of it is new; so who knows, these negatives may have been resolved by the time you get here.
Stayed at the new mooring field. Balls and pendant lines are great. Only, but big issue is the lack of dingy space at the dock. For $24/day would expect room to dock a dingy. At St. Pete they have a dedicated, floating dingy dock that is locked from the shore side for the mooring field.... here you must hope for space.
The marina was overbooked and our slip and those of our friends were much too small for our boats. We had 1 inch between our boat and the piling on one side and zero inches on the other. Won’t be going back!
Excellent service. Friendly staff. Nice facilities. Great location.
We stayed for 3 nights on a mooring. The setup of the mooring field is excellent, with comfortable spacing between moorings. The mooring field is very close to town with easy access to city docks with space allocated for dinghies. The Gulfport Municipal Marina is a quite a bit further from the mooring field. The showers are clean and well maintained. We will definitely visit again.
Staff was very helpful. Showers very clean (new). Area was quiet and well protected.
We stayed aboard one week at the marina, a couple days in a slip (fixed dock) then moved over to to the transient floating dock. We were welcomed from driving in to launch our boat to our exit, filling up on gas & water enroute to explore Tampa Bay. All facilities were clean and cared for, used the showers, laundry and the boaters lounge upstairs. There are separate showers for daytrippers vs staying in the marina, those upstairs are modernized and prettier, but all had hot, adjustable water w good showerheads (just need soap dishes). The gates are open in the daytime but locked at night, we felt very safe. Easy walk over to the main Gulfport business district with great restaurants (especially O'Maddys), beautiful seafront with dinghy dock. The marina mooring balls are off there, would have loved to use them, but no powerboats allowed. Loved all the bird life in the marina, visited by a dolphin, herons & egrets, best marina we have ever visited!
Beautiful new mooring field across from a vibrant waterfront. The marina is well-sheltered, clean, in good repair, and boasts a sharp staff and a good little ship's store. Gulfport loses one star from me ONLY because it is one very long row from the mooring field to the shower.
Great, helpful people. Reasonable rates. Would stay again.
You Cannot find better, more serviceable, staff anywhere. Love going there for a few days. Thanks to all!
due to parking lot construction it wasn’t too scenic otherwise worked out well.
Marina Wes clean, people were friendly and Gulfport is a great little town.
Great Marina! Very friendly and helpful staff! You dock along floating dock, there’s only room for 4-6 boats depending on size, so plan ahead. The floating dock is at a dead end, and it may be a little tight to turn around if you’re on. 45’+. Clean facilities! Some improvements underway which will make it even better.
Great well protected stop. Tony,Dennis and staff couldn't be more helpful-will guide you to slip help tie and hook up. Some showers new and even old ones are spotless. Would give six stars but no close by restaurant however short walk or free shuttle to down town which is really a little jewel. Great stop.
Too shallow. Bumped going in and on the ground at the dock. They need to dredge the channel and Marina.
Gulfport Marina was a very decent, clean fully functional marina. Lots of services and great clean large showers, along with a super friendly staff. Extra shout out to George who got us in even with some extra challenges. Would definitely go back.
Great dock attendants, clean bathrooms, great town
Very nice older marina. Close to walk to downtown Gulfport for restaurants. Clean facilities.
Great staff - couldn't be nicer. Helpful and professional in every way. Had a great time while we were there! Thanks!
It's always a pleasure to visit Gulfport. The Municipal Marina is first class, well maintained, and well protected. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will stay here every time I'm in the area in the future.
The marina and dock master were great and the town is wonderful! We liked it so much we are staying another night!!!
Enjoyed the security of have a mooring ball over night. The close proximity to the pier and establishments is perfect. Well worth the cost.
Mooring ball was great. Music from shore was a little loud but tolerable. Great food and service at Isabell's and Pia's Tratorria. We will be back next year!!
Very nice facility. Staff extremely accommodating. Clean showers, nice floating docks. Just stayed one night. Only disappointment was that wifi was unreliable and slow. And coffee shop or convenience store was a healthy walk or ride from the marina. But the trip into Gulfport for the afternoon/evening is well worth it. Will def be back!!
Friendly staff! I was at the transient dock and had no issues. I left my fishing gear on the boat and no one messed with it. I will return to this dock in the future.
We love staying here. Staff is always courteous and helpful
One of the less desired marinas in the area. Staff is rude, and we have had bad experiences when we go into the marina to fill up on diesel. We won’t be returning. Gulfport can do better than this, and so can the marina staff.
The staff here are always super friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean and updated.
Need to improve the Wifi but Gulfport is great place
Great people. Close walk to OMaddys. Nice clean marina. Employees are very nice and helpful
Great spot, less than a mile walk to old town main street and excellent restaurants. Very close to wonderful nature trails. Doesn't have a lot of facilities but very friendly marina.
Fabulous marina with great employees. The least expensive gas in the area always!! Dennis does a great job as the Harbor Master.
This is a very quiet and relaxing marina. The staff is wonderful and helpful every time. The facilities are always clean. Great place to stay.
Highly recommend! Nice facilities and very friendly staff! Bravo!
Our two day stay was quite nice. The floating transient dock is convenient, but low to the water, so boarding can be an issue for some. The staff was great to work with and the new baths/showers and lounge are very nice.
Another great stay! Helpful staff and nice facilities and so close to fun Gulfport! I'll keep coming back.
Love the floating dock. Easy in easy out of the Marina. They have lots of things at the marina store including bait and tackle. The folks running the place are very nice. Its a good place.
We always enjoy staying on the floating dock at Gulfport! The new facilities are very nice and the shuttle to the main street is a bonus when we don't have our bikes.
LONG FLOATING DOCK FOR TRANSIANTS..ALL NEW BOATERS SHOWERS AND LOUNGE....GREAT EATING A FEW BLOCKS AWAY
Easy in and out - Easy docking on a floating dock, Nice walk to town. New shower facilities. Enjoyable place to stop over for a night.
