The Sandwich Marina has been operated by the Town of Sandwich since its inception in 1989. Transforming the former harbor of refuge into a first class marina with 140 seasonal slip holders, 42 commercial slips and 24 transient slips available. Fuel service, showers and a variety of local amenities make this the perfect stop over for many. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Welcomed and lines handled as we arrived. A very nice stop before or after transiting the canal.
No problems. Slip was ready at all times, had preferred parking near Harbormaster's office, water supply for cleaning, handy fuel dock.
We always make this a stop on our journeys. It’s beautiful with the canal trails, short walk for provisions, restaurants close by. The staff is very friendly. This marina never disappoints it’s just wonder. Thanks Sandwich Marina we will be back to enjoy your area!!
Thank you Dwight! We greatly appreciate your knowledge and help. Kindest and smartest guy you’ll ever meet! FYI October boaters: plan ahead! Fuel dock closes at 2:00.
Bathroom and shower rooms are great! Excellent restaurant across the street and nice sunsets. Supermarket within bicycling distance.
Nice late season cruise from Marion through the canal to one of our favorite marinas for an overnight. Walked to the Belfry Inn for a nice dinner, took an Uber back, then breakfast at Cafe Chew before heading back to Marion.
Very nice Marina, bathrooms, and location. Plenty of restaurants around. Lots of green area for the dogs.
Secure docks, 2 really good restaurants on premises, close to supermarket and ice cream shop... what's not to like. Alex / Serenity
Dockmaster was very helpful. Arranged a last minute pump out. Best fuel dock ever!
Staff very helpful and pleasant. It’s the only game in town, but they still go above & beyond. It's a busy harbor, with lots of commercial and private fishing boats. Town is quaint, and there are several good eating places within easy walk. Greek Bakery for delicious high calorie breakfast, popular ice cream spot, 4 good dinner restaurants within 1/4 mile. Nearby Heritage Museum is interesting, but a bit far to walk (2 mi)
Fantastic Marina. They run the operation really well. Plus, a great location with noice on the harbor restaurants offered.
Always competent and friendly. Great fuel dock. Great staff.
We really enjoyed our time at the marina. The location of the marina was excellent and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to do. The facilities in scene are well kept and clean, though a bit of a walk depending where your slip might be, but nothing too crazy. Having gas and head pump out on scene is really convenient. Our first night we were able to eat at the fisherman's view restaurant which is right on site, and like all the reviews, the food was exceptional!! We sat at the bar as the place was mobbed and advanced reservations is highly suggested! Another cool spot on site is the pilot house. Another cool spot with great outdoor seating and fire pits. We also chose to walk down the road a bit to experience the new Tree House Brewery. Like any brewery, the lines for food and drinks was long, but overall worth the wait. All in all I really enjoyed my stay in Sandwich and look forward to returning in the future!!
Excellent, thank you for B dock. I thank ladies for accommodating my request. The new addition of wagon was also great.
Always very accommodating and friendly. Thank you very much! John Caddell, M/Y YOREL.... John Caddell, YOREL
Sandwich is definitely our favorite marina- great location and very helpful staff.
Staff is excellent/friendly/professional. Bathrooms very clean
The great marina. I’ve had my boat there three years in a row staff for the most part is friendly though some people are rude Miner that has been done out of the water and I was told to take my boat home to do it. I don’t appreciate sarcasm. I was nice to ask About the repair before Moving forward in the end, it worked out I just did not wisecracks
Nice marina - It was a perfect stop over for us after the canal. It is clean and well maintained.
Great spot! Great communication via Dockwa on approach and dock assignment. Dock hands were great and assisted us onto the dock. Facilities were spotless and shower was awesome. Will be back!
Very friendly office and dock staff. Walking to several good restaurants. Bathroom and laundry A+, but a bit of a hike from the docks. Most of the marina seems to be commercial fisherman, who start early, return late and most of whom could care less about making a wake in the marina, which was mildly annoying. It's not picturesque, but it is extremely convenient and well maintained.
Excellent Facility nice people and the communication on amenities was wonderful.
The facility is very clean and well maintained. The staff is courteous and helpful.
Easy access from the canal. Great dock hands informative and friendly. Good WiFi and three lively restaurants within walking distance.
Very convenient in and out with fuel pier adjacent to transient docks. A bit of a walk to the laundry, but it helps get the steps in. Wifi no bueno but good Verizon signal. Easy walk to Stop and Shop and a liquor store. A couple of restaurants that are expensive. Good communication with marina staff prior to arrival. Good price for the area.
Great location easy walking distance to all the essentials. Showers and restrooms updated very nicely. Friendly staff and good docks with clean power. Almost always windy on arrival so be prepared
Loved our stay! Great staff, facilities, restaurants dockside! Will be back!
These folks are awesome in every regard; well organized and always willing to help - nice people, a pleasure to be there and especially enjoy booking thru the app - makes it effortless ...
Great Marina to stay. Able to walk to beach, restaurants, stores….Great bathroom facilities, great staff
Lovely grounds. Clean modern facilities. Great location.
Stayed 1 night on our way to Marblehead. Last minute and were very accommodating.
Great staff, Great help, nice stuff around...restaurants, Stop and shop
Always a great stay at Sandwich Marina. Fuel, pump out and local restaurants make this a favorite stop for us en route to the Cape and islands.
Perfect. Decent fuel price. Free pump out. Easy side tie dock. Nice folks working the dock. Good meal at Seafood Sam’s.
Always a wonderful stay at Sandwich Marina very helpful clean quite
Excellent unexpected stay overnight for a better weather window through Buzzards Bay. Pilot House and Fishermans view food/service get it done!
Very nice space Fuel attendant was helpful overall nice stay
Great location and no problem entering despite 4 kt current in the canal. Nice floating docks, bathrooms and laundry. Best dockhand assistance I’ve had in a long time—proper use of my spring line snub (thank you Sidney!!!). A well protected basin with two adjacent restaurants and others close by. All good!
Great location, easy in out. Decent restaurants within easy walking distance. Live music is nice. Dock staff helpful. Low-key.
Great facility Super convenient location Maintained in a first class manner, beautiful landscaping. Plenty of parking Docks and ramps in good safe condition Friendly helpful staff Secure property Kudo’s to the management team. Always a great marina to stop into!
All was great. The people and the restuarant. Just outstanding service from the marina. And the restuarant was excellent too.
It was great. Weather was beautiful. Marina personnel were very helpful
Best marina in Cape Cod. Friendly staff and beyond accommodating. Bathrooms are spotless and the marina is easy to navigate. Restaurants with live music and great food too! Thank you for the great service!!!!!!! CB
Best fuel prices, clean facilities, very well protected basin, super office staff, dock attendants go above and beyond assisting boaters, use channel 08 or 09 when approaching, coffee shop and groceries within walking distance, couple good restaurants right on property, what else could you ask for? Thanks for the stay.
Something has changed. Been here a of couple times and been a good situation. Last attempt we had a dangerous situation with the wind. Blowing 20 to 24, couldn’t make it to the slip. Dockmaster was so unpleasant and not helpful when we attempted to try again. Not sure what his deal is. Very unnecessary. Dock girls did their best. Had to anchor instead. Too dangerous and unsafe. Harbormaster refused to refund. Beware folks of administration and wind conditions. Both present serious challenges.
Great marina for a stop-over through the canal. Clean bathrooms and showers. Walking distance to grocery store and two good restaurants nearby.
Great service facilities and nice restaurants in walking distance.
Stored here for the winter. Staff, Harbormasters Nick & Mick as well as the office staff very friendly and helpful.
Great location, best prices, and amazing staff! The office and dock staff goes above and beyond to help and the maintenance staff does an outstanding job!
Very, very convenient location. But no laundry service yet. New harbor master building a Pee Spot. Could be a 5 star.
Phenomenal marina with an extremely helpful and friendly staff and excellent facilities.
Easy to get to. Accommodated my slip request. Great fuel dock
Great dock crew. Very helpful Sue in the office always great to deal with. Only con is wifi isnt very good
Very helpful staff!!! Good price on fuel. Very well located for boating and enjoying seafood .
Very convenient from the canal. Lots of restaurants with 1.5 miles.
Absolutely fantastic. Fueled up in AM and help at the fuel dock terrific and very much appreciated. Great spot with great people. Thank you.
Great place. Awesome people. Local to every thing Sandwich has to offer. Many great restaurants and entertainment within walking distance.
Best marina on cape cod. Staff is always willing to help and accommodate any request you may have. Love it !!!
The dock was great with the exception that the electricity didn’t work. Very protected marina with stores and restaurants within walking distance.
The marina is in a sheltered area off the canal so we did not have to worry about waves while docked. Not sure if they only have one dock for transient visitors behind the fuel dock....we were between 2 other large boats with barely any wiggle room. Otherwise, the dock was in relatively good condition, and the staff was very helpful. Watching the Navy right next to us training on their boats was very cool!
Dock staff is very helpful and attentive. The response on Dockwa is always fast, and the restrooms / showers clean and new.
We had a great stay as usual. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.
Great stop before or after a cape cod canal trip. Easy walk to everything you may need, with nice facilities. Slip assignment makes a difference if you want to use the restrooms or laundry, as those near the fuel dock are quite a distance, and are not secured by a gate. Staff has always been great. Awesome fish market and restaurant (Fisherman's View).
All was good. Please check ladies room code.
Great marina and the staff at the office and fuel dock were very helpful!
We were planning on staying one day to hide out from a blow, but ended up finding a mechanical issue (blown raw water pump) and couldn't transit the canal as planned until it was fixed. We had to order parts, wait for UPS, stay two extra nights, move slips, and generally just became a pretty high-maintenance tenant. Through it all, the folks at Sandwich were extremely helpful and accommodating, and if we had to be broken down, I'd say it was a great place to be broken down. Good food nearby, nice area for walking the dog along the canal and the beach, and good clean facilities. Thanks everyone at Sandwich for all your help!
Excellent marina - location, docks, services, staff. We had a great 4 night stay.
Love it. Nice docks, good showers, great restaurant across the street
Very helpful dock staff and harbormaster young lady. Good place to stop , refuel, get showers and a restaurant meal. Very protected
This is our second time here as a stopover between Martha's Vineyard/Cuddyhunk and Boston. Transient slip is easy to get to and dockhands come out to help and orient you to the marina. It is a little tight with a sailboat, but manageable as long as you watch the wind and current. Best bathroom and shower facilities I've seen at a marina. A couple of good restaurants within 5 min walk. Grocery store and liquor store within 10-15 minute walk. Called harbormaster (runs marina) when a loud alarm was going off on a fishing vessel on our dock. They came right out to investigate and resolve. The gentleman at the fuel dock has an excellent ear and pumps your gas for you. The two times we fueled there the past two years he never spilled a drop.
Enjoyed our stay at Sandwich marina. Thank you to all the marina staff. See you next year!
Great staff. Very helpful. We had to go to another slip due to our boat size and they quickly found a slip for us.
Great marina, the marina staff is very friendly and accommodating!!
Excellent stay. Perfect location before or after going through the canal. Excellent amenities. Courteous staff.
Nice surroundings (park and very good restaurant). Very nice and helpful gas dock attendant.
Great staff, great slip and terrific restaurants near by.
Great marina to resupply and park for a night on either way north or south. Easy in easy out, freindly staff and clean facilities.
Sandwich is a very nice, clean marina. All of the Staff are professional, courteous and very helpful!! The Wi-fi is great! There are excellent places to eat, in walking distance. You get to see all the comings and goings on the Canal. If you just want to relax, with no worries, Sandwich is the place to visit! Fuel prices are very reasonable. We will definitely return!
Very good. Tell Dwight at the Fuel Dock that we'll bring him some brownies next time. :-)
As usual, great stay. Very nice area with a great restaurant. Dock staff very helpful! We stop here every year.
Great overnight stop. Easy access to restaurants and nice floating dock and very good showers. Nice staff as well.
Docks were great, Staff was great, fuel dock was awesome. Wi-Fi service was terrible, my slip was to far away.
Beautiful marina. Great restaurants. Great staff! Perfect location with easy access to most of the Cape!
Dock staff and office folk were super helpful, friendly, and very accommodating. Great marina in a great location with plenty of local eateries. We will definitely visit again.
Stayed two nights, was excellent. Good communication and assistance getting to dock. Lots of staff around to help with anything. Good facilities and close (5-10 min) walk to two restaurants, fish market, grocery, hardware stores. Nice bike path and beach in walking distance as well. If you are close to the end of the dock, you will get some bumps early in the morning from commercial and early boaters from the nearby ramp which is busy on a nice weekend. Overall great.
Convenient location… easy walk to 3 restaurants, slightly longer to grocery. Loved the Cape Cod Canal visitor center with informative presentation by Army Corps of Engineer ranger. Nice code controlled bathrooms, showers & laundry. Very calm marina waters so close to the strong currents of the canal. Office staff was very accommodating as we needed to stay a second(unreserved) night due to weather. Definitely recommend this marina.
Clean facility, great docks, good restaurants. Short walk into "town", Cafe Chew, good breakfasts and lunches
Great marina. Helpful staff and very clean & spacious showers. Several restaurants in walking distance. Ideally located on the Canal.
We enjoyed our stay at the marina. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are clean and attractive. The weather turned sunny in the afternoon and at the staff’s recommendation we walked into town to the Sandwich Glass Museum about a 2 mile round trip. The older town center is very picturesque and worth the walk. We will stay there again.
Always a great stay at Sandwich! Can't beat the value!
The staff is wonderful and very helpful. Fisherman's View always delivers.
Terrific time in Sandwich. The facility and staff always does an amazing job. Dr. Kevin Kelly
We stayed for 3 nights on Memorial Day weekend and had a fantastic time. 10+ restaurants within a mile walk, sidewalks to get most places, Stop & Shop is a 10 minute walk with a liquor store in the same plaza. Easy marina entrance right out of the canal, just make sure you time the tide if you can. Shower and bathroom facilities were new and very clean. We will be back for sure.
Sandwich Marina is a excellent location at the eastern Entrance of the Cape Cod Canal. Very good facilities and Service including friendly Communication. En top there is the extremly good Fishmarket and the Restaurant Fishermen's View - delicious food!
I have a slip there. I wasn't just visiting. I love the place , very organized, good restaurants nearby and clean facilities at the Marina
Early season rate had no water at the docks to fill tanks or washdown. Rates are reasonable. People are very friendly and accommodating.
Stay on the hard over winter here, excellent facility’s.
The Harbormaster and the associates are Great!! They are accommodating and very friendly... I would highly recommend them.
Always very friendly staff, good facilities and restaurants nearby
Great instructions for after hours arrival, clean facilities, easy walk to great restaurants. Perfect spot for a stopover transiting the canal
Good overall. WiFi was poor and occasionally didn’t work at all. Overall nice quiet marina. Very convenient
The marina is close to so many things. A restaurant on each “side” of the marina. Grocery and adult beverage store less than half a mile. Coffee shop, ice cream shop, fishmonger, bar & grill, flower shop, pharmacy all within half a mile. Right on the walking and biking trail. \n\nPower post has good at our slip. Dockhand was of little help. Cleats are older. \n\nWe didn’t use shower or laundry facilities but they looked nice and newer building
Nice spot with excellent staff! Two nice restaurants and a seafood market all at the marina. Waking distance to town and we used an Uber to provision. Stayed 5 nights to wait out the high winds from hurricane Ian. Safe harbor.
Nice place restaurant in walking distance ,made reservations for my 56' Mathews call then on channel #9 on my arrival they directed me to the slip and met me to grab my lines , informed me where bathroom are and codes what else can you ask for
Pleasant people and very convenient. I generally stop over 2-4 times per year, mostly to have a known transit time through the Canal. But it's also a good place to start up towards Maine, and in good wind I've made the Isle of Shoals in one day.
Professional and friendly staff. Great, protective harbor.
We had a fantastic stay this Labor Day weekend. The staff are kind, helpful and very hardworking. This spot can’t be beat. The location along the canal and all of the amenities within walking distance make the time spent so enjoyable. The Pilot house is steps from G dock where we like to stay when we come here and the food is excellent.
Great stay at Sandwich Marina. Beautiful location, great facilities and welcoming and professional staff. Looking forward to our next stay. Thank you again, Sharon! Jeff B - Dragnet
The staff could not have been more pleasant. Price is reasonable! The facilities were exceptionally clean including the bathrooms showers and laundry!
Sandwich Marina is very clean and very well maintained. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The operating hours are convenient and the fuel is very reasonably priced. We were very happy with our experience there.
Perfect! Great location. Great staff. Good fuel prices. Close to multiple restaurants. Be sure to enter against the current or you risk getting pushed into the rocks.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of stuff to do along the canal such as walking and biking. Good restaurants nearby but expect to pay a premium for the location. We will be back.
Perfect spot to overnight before continuing west through the canal. Nice people, good pricing and well maintained facilities. Only downside was the long walk to the bathrooms. Seafood Sam's was good for dinner and Greek Caffeina was even better for breakfast.
It was very nice. Wi-Fi was spotty at night but better in the morning. Showers not convenient, too far away.
Great staff, my assigned berth didn’t work due to my 2.5 foot draft and a minus tide but I was relocated to the fuel dock. Great restaurant right at the end of fuel dock. Shower room was very clean. Easy walk to grocery and hardware store. Great spot for a night.
Great staff very attentive and helpful! I was concerned about pulling the boat this morning and I was helped at the slip from the guy at the fuel dock then met at the ramp by another savior and another person helped me get it on the trailer. The customer service at this Marina is by far the best in New England. Thank you again for your hospitality and I look forward to seeing you again on the 3rd
Always a great stay at Sandwich Marina! Staff are knowledgeable, accommodating and professional. Lots of fun things to do within walking distance.
We have stopped there many times for fuel. This was great spot to wait out some unexpected bad weather. Very protected! A quick walk to your choice of restaurants. We will definitely make this a planned stop in the future.
Glad to have this option when transiting the Canal. Excellent eating options, and a full grocery store (Stop and Shop) within easy walking distance. The facilities and office are quite a hike, but excellence once you get there. Helpful staff but felt like big brother was watching, especially up by the office/facilities.
The marina is on the Cape Cod canal, near the Cape Cod Bay end, and just next door to the Sandwich power plant. It is well protected so we had no motion of the boat overnight. There is a good spot to walk the dog, and it has two restaurants. The one we went to was really jumpin' but they found a spot for us. The place also sells fuel. We bought 400 gallons of Diesel at a price that is not out of line with other places. (Still expensive). The folks there were friendly and helpful.
Friendly Crew. Nice location. Pilot House across the street was wonderful!
Very responsive in my reservation request. However despite giving the codes to me for the bathrooms, showers and laundry room all the rooms were dead bolted and not accessible.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Well maintained facility.
All good. Friendly staff . Yummy restaurant right there.
Awful. No navigational aids of any sort to help boaters arriving at night. Property is stacked with fishermen shining lights into your eyes which further hinders navigation. Was assigned to a dock that already had a boat on it and had approximately half the length left required to safely tie up. Late shift dock master put us on a fishing dock full of seagull feces and a hose full of holes. Will definitely skip this marina next time I'm going through the canal.
Simple why 5 stars. The marina is fine. But the people are terrific and care about. So thanks for Sharon, Sue, Tom and Jake .. and maybe missed one.
We loved the experience. Our friends from the Great Blue Hill Sail & Power Squadron (America's Boating Club) had our end of summer rendezvous there and fun was had by all. It had been about 10 years since I last visited Sandwich Marina and I had forgotten how great it was. Not only the marina (first class) but the surrounding area of Sandwich. Lots of fun things to do, including watching the tortoises (yes really) at the local ice cream shop. Can't wait to go back. In case you are interested, I put a YouTube video together of the event if you are curious. All the best, Jim Andersen (a big fan of Dockwa!!). I have a Youtube Channel called CatBoat Adventures and this will be one of my upcoming videos. http://bit.ly/SandwichRendezvous
Great facility; staffed by professional and personable experts! Fisherman's View restaurant is literally on the shore of the Cape Cod canal at the entrance to the harbor ---- great meal with great views ! Loved watching the huge tankers and yachts sail past as we dined. Looking forward to our return!!
Our overnight stay was just right. We used this as a stop before going thru the canal. Dock hands were helpful. Did not take time to explore facility.
The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. As a solo sailor, having help with lines is important. Having experienced help is priceless.
Sandwich Marina is a decent place to stop when entering or leaving the Cape Cod canal, but it wouldn’t be my first choice on my next trip. We had a reservation at the normal transient dock but apparently the previous occupant broke down and couldn’t leave. The marina then reassigned us to a slip at the far end of a dock full of lobster boats. It wouldn’t have been bad except that the amount of seagull poop on the dock was disgusting. Given the hot weather, it smelled pretty bad. Shore power proved to be a problem as well. It took several attempts, with no help from the dockhand who met us, to successfully connect the first time. Then early in the morning, power to the whole marina was lost for nearly an hour. Perhaps not their fault, but frustrating, none the less. Then heads and showers were clean and well equipped. The final frustration for me came when I wanted to pump my holding tank and buy some fuel as I left to transit the canal. There was a constant stream of other customers and I couldn’t reach the dock attendant by radio to get a place in line. After nearly an hour waiting, I finally gave up without completing either of those tasks.
A pretty good place to hang after or before passing thru the Canal. Only 2 large restaurant options for dinner, and nothing really around. We were on the outermost dock (H) near the entrance, a very long walk to bathroom.. The laundry was Out of Order (we needed it), And the guy at the Gas Dock was a bit too hasty untie-ing us off the dock (I didn't tell him to cast off the lines, and when I looked back, we had no lines on - barely got my engines going....ouch) He was trying to accommodate a couple of bigger boats trying to get in to the gas dock, but would have been better to ask me if I was ready to push off. We were only on the dock for about 5 minutes, so not like we were dilly-dallying.
A hidden gem. Good food across the street and a nice beach within walking distance. We'll be back.
Lovely staff, clean bathrooms and walking distance to groceries and restaurants. It was our first time transiting the canal and we needed to time the tides right. Our stay was short but we’ll be back!
Great staff and facilities. Lots of restaurants and shops
Great little marina. Fuel and pump out. Friendly dock staff. Great restaurant right across the street. Beautiful walking path along the canal, leads to a sandy beach. What could be better?
Amenities list groceries, could not even find an HQ, Dock staff was great, but with all the distance, carts should be provided. Shower was clean but poorly designed - no hook for shower head?!
Sandwich is a great place to say for a stopover or quick getaway. Staff are helpful with tie up and fuel. It’s an active marina during the day, but it quiets down at night. There are Some nice amenities are close by. Hit up “seafood sams” if you need a good fried fix and then walk the canal paths. Goto the Fisherman’s View for excellent Sushi and the fish market. There’s a grocery and other provisions a short walk away. Get Shipwrecks ice cream. Nice people on the docks that welcome transients. Definitely recommend. The staff also practice social distancing. Cheers.
The electricity did not work at our slip despite them assuring me it worked earlier. They did accommodate us with another slip whew the electric DID work. Nice dock hands.
Great Marina. Workers are helpful, fuel is Very reasonable, and resident slip owners are friendly. Highly recommended!
Very helpful & friendly staff, convenient for groceries and amazing walks along the canal
This was our first time staying at Sandwich. We had some very challenging winds docking that day, but the crew at the Marina helped us dock with no incidents! Restaurants are right across the street. It was an awesome stay. Thank You.....
Very nice and helpful gas dock. Easy to maneuver around the marina. Good restaurant on sight.
We weathered TS Elsa (July 2021) here and it was the perfect spot. Great marina accommodations - fuel, pump out, water, good docks, ice at a good price, clean heads with good showers. Plus the location is an easy walk to at least 5 restaurants at varying price points (easy pizza to nice night out), ice cream, a CVS, Stop&Shop for re-provisioning and more. Would 100% return, well worth the price.
Have stayed here a number of times over the years. Always excellent service, nice knowledgeable staff. Fuel prices are the best we see cruising each year from the Chesapeake up to mid coast Maine. Also, two excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. Lots to like at Sandwich Marina! Thanks.
Firstly, this marina staff is so helpful and communicative. They’re proactive about checking in about arrival times and they were waiting at the dock to help with the lines. We were happy with our slip location, on G dock, right across from a local restaurant, The Pilot House, where we enjoyed an excellent dinner. Bathrooms were a pretty walk away with newly paved paths. Construction also seemed new. We will be back.
The staff were great; restaurants very close by. Walking distance to town and the glass museum. Bathrooms were clean, but there is only one shower per gender and the hot water goes fast. Fuel and pumpout on premises. Overall a nice experience and a perfect place to spend the night waiting for current to navigate the Cape Cod Canal.
The staff is friendly and helpful, for a marine with so many fishing boats, it tis surprisingly clean. Access to fresh seafood restaurtants is the best here. Can't wait to return!
Amazing customer service! Got us fueled at 6am and on our way. Judy helped us plan our arrival and overnight with the utmost curtesy .
The location was most convenience for an overnight to the fishing grounds. The sea gull guam covering the docks was quite a nuisance to say the least. I had to wash down the cockpit of my boat and I was there less than 24 hours. The fuel dock was accommodating.
Nice location with variety of shopping. Helpful staff, clean bathroom, nice shower, poor Wi-Fi.
Excellent! The marina sent me email in advance with all the information I needed. When I got close enough I called them on ch. 9 and they answered right away with my slip assignment. Could not be happier! Note to others: make a reservation in advance for Fisherman’s View restaurant, otherwise you may not get in.
Mick, Sam, Rick, and all of the marina crew are A+++! With our boat only two weeks in our possession, we expected a trouble free vacation. Our diesel fuel line thought otherwise. Mick helped us out, called his own mechanic, and we were ready to go the next day... but the weather was not. They found room for us to stay 2 more days and were incredibly accommodating. We’ll see them many times over the coming years and are grateful for their hospitality! Plus the fuel is incredibly well priced and the water pressure is the best of any marina I’ve ever experienced!
A little rocky at the docks due to heavy boat traffic. Otherwise a good place to stop over when traveling thru the canal
Appreciate the advance communications / confirmations and the help from the Gas Attendant to point the way. Jake was right there on the dock ready to assist. And Kayla (I believe is her name in the office) is certainly very pleasant. Thank you all!
This is much more than a handy stop-over on the way to Martha's Vineyard. The dockhands were waiting for us upon arrival. We brought bikes and enjoyed biking the length of the canal-the access is literally right there at the marina. We highly recommend The Pilot House Restaurant, which has awesome indoor and outdoor dining-plenty of it-with a sunset view. There is also a beach within walking distance and it's fun to sit on the breakwater at the canal entrance and watch the boats come and go. Restrooms were super-clean and all CDC protocol is being followed. Wish we had stayed longer!
The marina staff are friendly and delightfully helpful. We can’t say enough good things about staying here. Judy in the Harbormaster’s office treats everyone like royalty. Also, there are three excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.
Friendly and helpful staff, they called to check my arrival so they could have someone on the dock to catch my lines. Cleanest restrooms out of all the marinas we visited on our cruise Fisherman's View restaurant was a delight
All good, easy in easy out. Staffing a bit light these days
Marina crew met us at a very convenient transient dock, helping us tie up at the dock (our first trip in this newly purchased sailboat). Facilities were very clean. The marina looked very well organized. Looking forward to returning in our future cruising.
Always enjoy Sandwich Marina, very helpful and friendly staff, first class facilities!
Great friendly staff! Extremely clean. I’ve been coming to this marina since the 1980’s and still love it. Thank you!
great place for 4th of July or any day! I love Sandwich Marina. The staff is great. Thank you!
We liked this low key marina. Mostly working boats and fishing boats. Very helpful staff and great jumping off point for destinations around Cape Cod Bay.
This marina is a great spot for pre or post canal passage. Easily accessed. Friendly and very helpful dock staff. Very clean facilities. Only thing missing is a place for coffee in the morning.
They gave me the slip assignment I requested on the reservation.
Great place to set up from when going through the canal the next morning!
Nice spot, easy walk to a few restaurants. Great view of the canal. Will definitely be back.
Great Marina! Always great getting to use home town dock at end of season. Hopefully it will get easier and less expensive for sandwich residents to obtain a seasonal slip.
Nice Harbor, easy access to fuel dock, clean restroom and showers. Marina provided us with a layout of the docks prior to arrival, combination codes for showers and restrooms; as well as a lists of restaurants, pubs, provisions, local activities and transportable options. Could not ask for anything more.
Scenic harbor. Very clean restrooms and shower. Convenient to grocery and shopping. Fisherman’s View restaurant is a 5 minute walk.
Easy in and out. Playgrounds and restaurants within walking distance.
It's a very convenient stop! The only downside is the public boat ramp. The boats going out fishing in the middle of the night are not always very considerate and crank music and kick up a wake. That can interrupt sleep. Also, there is a smell of exhaust and fuel sometimes which can be unnerving. Besides that it has a lot to offer ashore.
Excellent. Slip assignment was easy, dockhand was standing by to help with lines, fuel service was quick, Pilot House restaurant next door has great music Tuesday night, and with some help with the lines from a dockhand I was on my way through the canal the next morning. Perfect stopover.
Nice place, convenient for waiting for a favorable tide in the canal
Nice place, friendly people. Got diesel and spent the night. Enjoyed the restaurants nearby. There is a liquor store that also sells cigars within walking distance. Great place to stop on a long journey.
Great place Great location Excellent staff Always a treat to stay here
I enjoyed our stay. Three restaurant choices in sight. Less than half a mile walk to the supermarket, liquor store, hardware store. Nice walking along the canal.
My second time staying at the marina. The staff was fantastic
The dock master was great. Kept checking to see how we were doing. Maddie and friend were great helping us get in. And.. giving foodie recommendations. Quite a few places to walk to. Great being right on canal. Bathroom and shower was immaculate. Beautiful place to stay!! Thanks everyone!!!
Marina is clean and operated by a professional friendly staff.
Very accommodating marina. Services are great and the location is next to everything you'd ever need when out on a cruise. I highly recommend stopping.
Such a quick and easy stop for us in between ports. Everyone is always helpful, kind and accommodating. Clean facilities and easy in/out of marina. Restaurants are close by and quick walk for morning coffee. Staff and deckhands friendly and helpful!
Beautiful marina. Our second visit. They really take pride in their business. Beautiful docks, easy access, piped in music at night, very secure and really nice people. Need to add extenders to their Wi-Fi, tho. Could not access it from my slip (K28)
Very convenient Marina while passing through the canal. I have stayed here several times. Always a great experience. The dock hand was a wonderful and pleasant help!
Sandwich Marina is an acceptable marina in a great location at the head of the Cape Cod Canal. The facilities are far from the docks and the trash receptacles are way too far away. Their are several very good restaurants nearby in walking distance. There is a grocery store about a quarter mile away.
We were glad to get a spot, but on a holiday weekend we were rocked with wakes hour after hour. They were not terrible wakes, but enough to make it uncomfortable. There is a launch ramp inside the basin, so hundreds of boats go in and out. Baths and showers are a LONG way from some of the docks. We didn't even bother. Locals were friendly, but we won;t be stopping here again.
Marina served our purpose for a one night stop over. Be sure to try Fisherman’s View restaurant. Upon arrival no one answered VHF when I was looking for dock assignment. Yes I was on channel their literature said to use. Marina has been neglected. It’s obvious there’s a great deal of deferred maintenance.
Fairly congested and busy marina with motor boats queuing to use the boat ramp. Convenient to restaurants and supermarket. Very good toilet and shower facilities. Excellent hints by e-mail on what to do and see around Sandwich from the Marina management. It would have been better if we had received it a day or two before our arrival.
Always a great place to stop. Very friendly staff and very modern and clean facilities.
Staff very friendly except older fellow at pump out dock, but he does have a crappy job. Fisherman's view has killer food, and the Glass Museum was a treat.
Dockwa reservation worked great. Dockmaster guided us to our slip professionally. Docks are great. Showers and rest rooms are new and clean but a very long walk from the slips. Heavy commercial and recreational fishing use of the marina means lots of boat engine noises, beginning at 4:30 am. Dock attendant went above and beyond in bringing a bag of ice to our dock for us so we didn't have to walk all the way. The Pilot House restaurant was great for dinner and the outside bar area on the lawn was wonderful, with great live music.
This is great marina with friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities and good access to restaurants, coffee, etc. Be sure to go to "off the grid" for delicious bbq. We would have given it 5 stars but their bathrooms have inadequate ventilation and are horribly hot even when it's not that hot outside.
Reserved a slip thru dockwa and got quick confirmation. Unfortuneatly we arrrived an hour earlier than scheduled as we picked up good speed thru the canal. The marina was not quite ready for us and there was difficulty in communicating via phone or radio as it was lunchtime. Regardless the Dock hands were able to help direct us to our designated spot. Facilities were very clean and convenient to restaurants Dockwa confirmation was quick and responsive. Dockhand came out at our normal arrival time and gave us details regarding passwords and bathroom combos
A wonderful stay here as always, a calm, quiet spot to spend the night, with excellent restaurants in walking distance and very clean facilities. Whenever we are headed up or down the canal, this is our go-to spot to stop!
Hi We arrived with 38' cutter Christina Grant at 04:30 after a direct passage from Nova Scotia, hoping to purchase fuel, clear Customs and continue on with least delay. We did purchase $150 in fuel and were moved off the fuel dock to another berth to await Customs. We were finally advised that Customs will not come to Sandwich and told to go to a port of entry on Buzzards Bay, but by then the current in the Canal was adverse so we could not proceed. We finally got underway at 12:30 but, having been in the marina for more than 4 hours, were charged an additional $108 in dockage fees. Overall it was a short but very expensive visit. Staff were friendly and showers clean. I would not stop here again in the future unless it were unavoidable.
First time using slip at this location. Staff were extremely helpful, and answered all my questions prior to arrival and day of... had use of bathroom and facilities.
We enjoyed our stay at Sandwich Marina. The restrooms look brand new and were very clean. The laundry machines were very nice and reasonably priced. The only issue we had is dock guys put us in the wrong slip so after getting tied up we had to move. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly.
The people were very helpful and nice. They called us when we were running late, and had a dock hand stay late to meet us. The facilities are excellent, I'll definitely stop here again my next time through the canal.
The experience was all fine. Dwight at the gas dock greeted us, assisted in securing our vessel, and was similarly helpful when we departed.
Oct 4, 2017 4:30 pm EDT. Called the marina via cell phone about an hour out. Auto-attendant transferred me to a person who picked up the phone and immediately hung it up. Tried calling 2 more times but no answer after auto-attendant transfer. Tried contacting the marina on ch 16, then 9 and then 8. After a couple of minutes, someone responded on ch 8. I told the person I was about an hour out and requested a face tie since I had never docked the new to me boat before and the wind was blowing at over 25 knots. I was told to pull up to the fuel dock and they would take care of me. When I arrived the winds were a steady 30, gusting to 40 knots. I pulled up to the fuel dock and the person in the shack looked up but did not come out. As I got closer to the dock I tapped my horn and he came out. I explained that I was told to pull up to the fuel dock upon arrival. He asked who told me that and I said the person who answered on ch 8, to which he replied, "That was me". I told him I had a reservation and gave him my name. He said I wasn't on the list. I showed him my email confirmation (Sandwich Marina reservation #ZQEF4JLQ). He saw the email was from the dockmaster and made a less than pleasant remark. I told him the reservation was for 2 x 30 amp circuits and asked if the power was on at the nearby power pole. He responded yes. He cleated my bow line and told me that the next face dock south was where I should be. However, there was a sailboat already there leaving only about 15 feet of dock for my 42' boat. He told me I had to be gone by 6am and then left. When I went to plug in I found the power pole had a padlock on one side and only one 30 amp circuit on the opposite side. Luckily I had additional cables. I extended one line and ran it further down the dock to the next pole. The next morning I was on the dock at 5:50 and met another marina employee who was opening up. I related what happened. He found a slip for me and helped tie my bow once I got in the slip. Overall, very disappointed in how things were handled... the poor phone & radio communications, the power pole issue, the 6am departure mandate, etc. Not a very good experience, nor one I would want to repeat.
It was painless, I didn't even have to go to the office.
Excellent clean and spacious showers and toilet facilities. Very poor markings on slips. Easy to see "D" slips. "C" was totally unidentifiable without guidance from the Harbormaster's office.
Great staff! Very helpful and facilities were very clean! Sorry it was a short visit.
Easy stop on route to the islands. Helpful staff. Clean new restrooms and a new restaurant in the harbor that was great. Easy place to gas up with good prices. Will return.
Convenient, helpful staff. Great docks and facilities. Nice folks all around.
Lovely Marina and town. Excellent facilities and great restaurants and things to do nearby. The one big issue was that we didn't sleep the entire nights as fishing boats were being launched and departing from 1 am and returning around 6 am. ALL NIGHT LONG!!!
Great stopover. The wind and rain were howling around us, but the boat barely moved all night. Several restaurant choices nearby with a chandlery and supermarket within walking distance.
Nice new marina office with restroom and shower facilities. There is also a new restaurant nearby Fisherman's Wharf, in addition to the other two existing nearby eateries. Shopping a 10 min walk. Revisited the Cape Cod Visitor Center which is very informative. Nice message from staff prior to stay and friendly dock assistants. Some confusion about our slip assignment which was straightened out. Note: No able to call marina staff directly on telephone.
Dock attendant said it was mandatory that I sign up with Dockwa in order to stay at the Marina. Dockwa May work for some, but does not work for me! Please cancel my subscription! As for the Marina, not a trash can in sight! Docks in rough shape, no help to tie up, winds 25nts SW, etc. As a full time delivery Capt for the past 35 yrs. I will use the Marina for fuel, but plan not to lay over.
Fabulous facility, services, and staff - at a critical location! This is the harbor of refuge if you are waiting for a favorable tide to transit the canal to the west (Ebb) or need to rest after an east (flood) passage. The docks are well laid out, in great condition, and well-equipped. There is an accessible fuel dock and pumpout services are handy. The shore facilities are completely new - harbormaster office, restrooms, and terrific restaurant! All you could want.
Marina was very convenient for passing thru the canal. Arrived late left early so we didn't spend anytime ashore. The prepay and check in thru dockwa was easy.
Stopped in after dock ... stayed near the fuel dock - the attendant knocked on the cabin door at 6:30am (before opening) to ask if we wanted to fuel and be on our way. It was a nice gesture. Pumps have auto cutoff and 20gpm. A walk to town is easy with a market/bank/liquor store etc. Dock hands helpful and cordial. An excellent stop.
