Open for business. Office is open 8:00AM - 8:00PM. Fuel dock is open from 6:00AM - 8:30PM. Boat Ramp is staffed from 6:00AM to 8:00PM. We do have an honor system for launches after hours.
The Sandwich Marina has been operated by the Town of Sandwich since its inception in 1989. Transforming the former harbor of refuge into a first class marina with 140 seasonal slip holders, 42 commercial slips and 24 transient slips available. Fuel service, showers and a variety of local amenities make this the perfect stop over for many. Reservations are strongly recommended.
The location was most convenience for an overnight to the fishing grounds. The sea gull guam covering the docks was quite a nuisance to say the least. I had to wash down the cockpit of my boat and I was there less than 24 hours. The fuel dock was accommodating.
Nice October night at the marina. The dock hands were friendly and very helpful with our lines. Off the Grid restaurant is just a short walk away.
Very clean showers and toilets
Nice location with variety of shopping. Helpful staff, clean bathroom, nice shower, poor Wi-Fi.
Great facility; staffed by professional and personable experts! Fisherman's View restaurant is literally on the shore of the Cape Cod canal at the entrance to the harbor ---- great meal with great views ! Loved watching the huge tankers and yachts sail past as we dined. Looking forward to our return!!
Thank you for always accommodating MV Leto.
Nice stop and location. staff were great
Convenient stop - great staff - great neighbors.
Excellent! The marina sent me email in advance with all the information I needed. When I got close enough I called them on ch. 9 and they answered right away with my slip assignment. Could not be happier! Note to others: make a reservation in advance for Fisherman’s View restaurant, otherwise you may not get in.
Nice secure location with great staff.
Mick, Sam, Rick, and all of the marina crew are A+++! With our boat only two weeks in our possession, we expected a trouble free vacation. Our diesel fuel line thought otherwise. Mick helped us out, called his own mechanic, and we were ready to go the next day... but the weather was not. They found room for us to stay 2 more days and were incredibly accommodating. We’ll see them many times over the coming years and are grateful for their hospitality! Plus the fuel is incredibly well priced and the water pressure is the best of any marina I’ve ever experienced!
A little rocky at the docks due to heavy boat traffic. Otherwise a good place to stop over when traveling thru the canal
Appreciate the advance communications / confirmations and the help from the Gas Attendant to point the way. Jake was right there on the dock ready to assist. And Kayla (I believe is her name in the office) is certainly very pleasant. Thank you all!
Fantastic marina!!!!!!!!
Great staff very attentive and helpful! I was concerned about pulling the boat this morning and I was helped at the slip from the guy at the fuel dock then met at the ramp by another savior and another person helped me get it on the trailer. The customer service at this Marina is by far the best in New England. Thank you again for your hospitality and I look forward to seeing you again on the 3rd
This is much more than a handy stop-over on the way to Martha's Vineyard. The dockhands were waiting for us upon arrival. We brought bikes and enjoyed biking the length of the canal-the access is literally right there at the marina. We highly recommend The Pilot House Restaurant, which has awesome indoor and outdoor dining-plenty of it-with a sunset view. There is also a beach within walking distance and it's fun to sit on the breakwater at the canal entrance and watch the boats come and go. Restrooms were super-clean and all CDC protocol is being followed. Wish we had stayed longer!
The marina staff are friendly and delightfully helpful. We can’t say enough good things about staying here. Judy in the Harbormaster’s office treats everyone like royalty. Also, there are three excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.
great stopover facility. Restaurant and fuel exceptional
Friendly and helpful staff, they called to check my arrival so they could have someone on the dock to catch my lines. Cleanest restrooms out of all the marinas we visited on our cruise Fisherman's View restaurant was a delight
Very accommodating, clean and pleasant!
Great Marina. Workers are helpful, fuel is Very reasonable, and resident slip owners are friendly. Highly recommended!
Excellent Facility nice people and the communication on amenities was wonderful.
All good, easy in easy out. Staffing a bit light these days
Marina crew met us at a very convenient transient dock, helping us tie up at the dock (our first trip in this newly purchased sailboat). Facilities were very clean. The marina looked very well organized. Looking forward to returning in our future cruising.
These folks are awesome in every regard; well organized and always willing to help - nice people, a pleasure to be there
I always enjoy this marina.
Always enjoy Sandwich Marina, very helpful and friendly staff, first class facilities!
Docks were great, Staff was great, fuel dock was awesome. Wi-Fi service was terrible, my slip was on H Dock, to far away.
Great friendly staff! Extremely clean. I’ve been coming to this marina since the 1980’s and still love it. Thank you!
great place for 4th of July or any day! I love Sandwich Marina. The staff is great. Thank you!
Sandwich is a great place to say for a stopover or quick getaway. Staff are helpful with tie up and fuel. It’s an active marina during the day, but it quiets down at night. There are Some nice amenities are close by. Hit up “seafood sams” if you need a good fried fix and then walk the canal paths. There’s a grocery and other provisions a short walk away. Definitely recommend. The staff also practice social distancing. Cheers.
We liked this low key marina. Mostly working boats and fishing boats. Very helpful staff and great jumping off point for destinations around Cape Cod Bay.
This marina is a great spot for pre or post canal passage. Easily accessed. Friendly and very helpful dock staff. Very clean facilities. Only thing missing is a place for coffee in the morning.
They gave me the slip assignment I requested on the reservation.
Great place to set up from when going through the canal the next morning!
Nice spot, easy walk to a few restaurants. Great view of the canal. Will definitely be back.
Great Marina! Always great getting to use home town dock at end of season. Hopefully it will get easier and less expensive for sandwich residents to obtain a seasonal slip.
Nice Harbor, easy access to fuel dock, clean restroom and showers. Marina provided us with a layout of the docks prior to arrival, combination codes for showers and restrooms; as well as a lists of restaurants, pubs, provisions, local activities and transportable options. Could not ask for anything more.
Scenic harbor. Very clean restrooms and shower. Convenient to grocery and shopping. Fisherman’s View restaurant is a 5 minute walk.
They were very helpful
Great stop before or after a cape cod canal trip. Easy walk to everything you Mary need, friendly staff, nice facilities.
Easy in and out. Playgrounds and restaurants within walking distance.
It's a very convenient stop! The only downside is the public boat ramp. The boats going out fishing in the middle of the night are not always very considerate and crank music and kick up a wake. That can interrupt sleep. Also, there is a smell of exhaust and fuel sometimes which can be unnerving. Besides that it has a lot to offer ashore.
Excellent. Slip assignment was easy, dockhand was standing by to help with lines, fuel service was quick, Pilot House restaurant next door has great music Tuesday night, and with some help with the lines from a dockhand I was on my way through the canal the next morning. Perfect stopover.
Clean courteous near good shopping and restaurants
Always very accommodating and friendly. Thank you very much! John Caddell, M/Y YOREL
Nice place, convenient for waiting for a favorable tide in the canal
Nice place, friendly people. Got diesel and spent the night. Enjoyed the restaurants nearby. There is a liquor store that also sells cigars within walking distance. Great place to stop on a long journey.
Great place Great location Excellent staff Always a treat to stay here
I enjoyed our stay. Three restaurant choices in sight. Less than half a mile walk to the supermarket, liquor store, hardware store. Nice walking along the canal.
My second time staying at the marina. The staff was fantastic
Sandwich Marina is very clean and very well maintained. The staff is accommodating and friendly. The operating hours are convenient and the fuel is very reasonably priced. We were very happy with our experience there.
The dock master was great. Kept checking to see how we were doing. Maddie and friend were great helping us get in. And.. giving foodie recommendations. Quite a few places to walk to. Great being right on canal. Bathroom and shower was immaculate. Beautiful place to stay!! Thanks everyone!!!
Marina is clean and operated by a professional friendly staff.
Very accommodating marina. Services are great and the location is next to everything you'd ever need when out on a cruise. I highly recommend stopping.
Pleasant people and a very nice marina. Their procedures around Dockwa definitely need improvement: arriving after the daytime staff left I found a big cat in my assigned slip and my name not on the pleasant fuel dock guy's list of transients.
Such a quick and easy stop for us in between ports. Everyone is always helpful, kind and accommodating. Clean facilities and easy in/out of marina. Restaurants are close by and quick walk for morning coffee. Staff and deckhands friendly and helpful!
Beautiful marina. Our second visit. They really take pride in their business. Beautiful docks, easy access, piped in music at night, very secure and really nice people. Need to add extenders to their Wi-Fi, tho. Could not access it from my slip (K28)
Very nice people. The facilities are very clean.
Very convenient Marina while passing through the canal. I have stayed here several times. Always a great experience. The dock hand was a wonderful and pleasant help!
Sandwich Marina is an acceptable marina in a great location at the head of the Cape Cod Canal. The facilities are far from the docks and the trash receptacles are way too far away. Their are several very good restaurants nearby in walking distance. There is a grocery store about a quarter mile away.
We were glad to get a spot, but on a holiday weekend we were rocked with wakes hour after hour. They were not terrible wakes, but enough to make it uncomfortable. There is a launch ramp inside the basin, so hundreds of boats go in and out. Baths and showers are a LONG way from some of the docks. We didn't even bother. Locals were friendly, but we won;t be stopping here again.
Marina served our purpose for a one night stop over. Be sure to try Fisherman’s View restaurant. Upon arrival no one answered VHF when I was looking for dock assignment. Yes I was on channel their literature said to use. Marina has been neglected. It’s obvious there’s a great deal of deferred maintenance.
Fairly congested and busy marina with motor boats queuing to use the boat ramp. Convenient to restaurants and supermarket. Very good toilet and shower facilities. Excellent hints by e-mail on what to do and see around Sandwich from the Marina management. It would have been better if we had received it a day or two before our arrival.
Always a great place to stop. Very friendly staff and very modern and clean facilities.
Staff very friendly except older fellow at pump out dock, but he does have a crappy job. Fisherman's view has killer food, and the Glass Museum was a treat.
Dockwa reservation worked great. Dockmaster guided us to our slip professionally. Docks are great. Showers and rest rooms are new and clean but a very long walk from the slips. Heavy commercial and recreational fishing use of the marina means lots of boat engine noises, beginning at 4:30 am. Dock attendant went above and beyond in bringing a bag of ice to our dock for us so we didn't have to walk all the way. The Pilot House restaurant was great for dinner and the outside bar area on the lawn was wonderful, with great live music.
This is great marina with friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities and good access to restaurants, coffee, etc. Be sure to go to "off the grid" for delicious bbq. We would have given it 5 stars but their bathrooms have inadequate ventilation and are horribly hot even when it's not that hot outside.
Reserved a slip thru dockwa and got quick confirmation. Unfortuneatly we arrrived an hour earlier than scheduled as we picked up good speed thru the canal. The marina was not quite ready for us and there was difficulty in communicating via phone or radio as it was lunchtime. Regardless the Dock hands were able to help direct us to our designated spot. Facilities were very clean and convenient to restaurants Dockwa confirmation was quick and responsive. Dockhand came out at our normal arrival time and gave us details regarding passwords and bathroom combos
A wonderful stay here as always, a calm, quiet spot to spend the night, with excellent restaurants in walking distance and very clean facilities. Whenever we are headed up or down the canal, this is our go-to spot to stop!
Hi We arrived with 38' cutter Christina Grant at 04:30 after a direct passage from Nova Scotia, hoping to purchase fuel, clear Customs and continue on with least delay. We did purchase $150 in fuel and were moved off the fuel dock to another berth to await Customs. We were finally advised that Customs will not come to Sandwich and told to go to a port of entry on Buzzards Bay, but by then the current in the Canal was adverse so we could not proceed. We finally got underway at 12:30 but, having been in the marina for more than 4 hours, were charged an additional $108 in dockage fees. Overall it was a short but very expensive visit. Staff were friendly and showers clean. I would not stop here again in the future unless it were unavoidable.
First time using slip at this location. Staff were extremely helpful, and answered all my questions prior to arrival and day of... had use of bathroom and facilities.
We enjoyed our stay at Sandwich Marina. The restrooms look brand new and were very clean. The laundry machines were very nice and reasonably priced. The only issue we had is dock guys put us in the wrong slip so after getting tied up we had to move. Everyone was very pleasant and friendly.
The people were very helpful and nice. They called us when we were running late, and had a dock hand stay late to meet us. The facilities are excellent, I'll definitely stop here again my next time through the canal.
The experience was all fine. Dwight at the gas dock greeted us, assisted in securing our vessel, and was similarly helpful when we departed.
Very nice marina with good restaurants.
Oct 4, 2017 4:30 pm EDT. Called the marina via cell phone about an hour out. Auto-attendant transferred me to a person who picked up the phone and immediately hung it up. Tried calling 2 more times but no answer after auto-attendant transfer. Tried contacting the marina on ch 16, then 9 and then 8. After a couple of minutes, someone responded on ch 8. I told the person I was about an hour out and requested a face tie since I had never docked the new to me boat before and the wind was blowing at over 25 knots. I was told to pull up to the fuel dock and they would take care of me. When I arrived the winds were a steady 30, gusting to 40 knots. I pulled up to the fuel dock and the person in the shack looked up but did not come out. As I got closer to the dock I tapped my horn and he came out. I explained that I was told to pull up to the fuel dock upon arrival. He asked who told me that and I said the person who answered on ch 8, to which he replied, "That was me". I told him I had a reservation and gave him my name. He said I wasn't on the list. I showed him my email confirmation (Sandwich Marina reservation #ZQEF4JLQ). He saw the email was from the dockmaster and made a less than pleasant remark. I told him the reservation was for 2 x 30 amp circuits and asked if the power was on at the nearby power pole. He responded yes. He cleated my bow line and told me that the next face dock south was where I should be. However, there was a sailboat already there leaving only about 15 feet of dock for my 42' boat. He told me I had to be gone by 6am and then left. When I went to plug in I found the power pole had a padlock on one side and only one 30 amp circuit on the opposite side. Luckily I had additional cables. I extended one line and ran it further down the dock to the next pole. The next morning I was on the dock at 5:50 and met another marina employee who was opening up. I related what happened. He found a slip for me and helped tie my bow once I got in the slip. Overall, very disappointed in how things were handled... the poor phone & radio communications, the power pole issue, the 6am departure mandate, etc. Not a very good experience, nor one I would want to repeat.
It was painless, I didn't even have to go to the office.
Excellent clean and spacious showers and toilet facilities. Very poor markings on slips. Easy to see "D" slips. "C" was totally unidentifiable without guidance from the Harbormaster's office.
Good marina with good restaurants
Great staff! Very helpful and facilities were very clean! Sorry it was a short visit.
Easy stop on route to the islands. Helpful staff. Clean new restrooms and a new restaurant in the harbor that was great. Easy place to gas up with good prices. Will return.
Convenient, helpful staff. Great docks and facilities. Nice folks all around.
Lovely Marina and town. Excellent facilities and great restaurants and things to do nearby. The one big issue was that we didn't sleep the entire nights as fishing boats were being launched and departing from 1 am and returning around 6 am. ALL NIGHT LONG!!!
Everything was excellent. Thank you
Great stopover. The wind and rain were howling around us, but the boat barely moved all night. Several restaurant choices nearby with a chandlery and supermarket within walking distance.
Nice new marina office with restroom and shower facilities. There is also a new restaurant nearby Fisherman's Wharf, in addition to the other two existing nearby eateries. Shopping a 10 min walk. Revisited the Cape Cod Visitor Center which is very informative. Nice message from staff prior to stay and friendly dock assistants. Some confusion about our slip assignment which was straightened out. Note: No able to call marina staff directly on telephone.
Nice, knowledgeable people. Clean facilities.
Very, very convenient location. But no laundry service yet. New harbor master building a Pee Spot. Could be a 5 star.
Dock attendant said it was mandatory that I sign up with Dockwa in order to stay at the Marina. Dockwa May work for some, but does not work for me! Please cancel my subscription! As for the Marina, not a trash can in sight! Docks in rough shape, no help to tie up, winds 25nts SW, etc. As a full time delivery Capt for the past 35 yrs. I will use the Marina for fuel, but plan not to lay over.
Fabulous facility, services, and staff - at a critical location! This is the harbor of refuge if you are waiting for a favorable tide to transit the canal to the west (Ebb) or need to rest after an east (flood) passage. The docks are well laid out, in great condition, and well-equipped. There is an accessible fuel dock and pumpout services are handy. The shore facilities are completely new - harbormaster office, restrooms, and terrific restaurant! All you could want.
Marina was very convenient for passing thru the canal. Arrived late left early so we didn't spend anytime ashore. The prepay and check in thru dockwa was easy.
Stopped in after dock ... stayed near the fuel dock - the attendant knocked on the cabin door at 6:30am (before opening) to ask if we wanted to fuel and be on our way. It was a nice gesture. Pumps have auto cutoff and 20gpm. A walk to town is easy with a market/bank/liquor store etc. Dock hands helpful and cordial. An excellent stop.
