How can this marina makes money? The monthly rate is fairly low and it comes with free ice, pool and free snack every afternoon! Very worth the price. The staff are friendly and helpful and the bathrooms are clean. The view of the Bridge of Lions is awesome. There are a lot of tourist trap type restaurants nearby, so it takes a hike to provision. The only negative, they don't clean the trash that washes up to the shoreline of their property.
Awesome marina. Great location. Friendly staff. Free ice and food for happy hour are a nice bonus.
Stayed for 4th of July fireworks, right under them, perfect. Staying at Marina gives access to pool, lounge, toilets, etc. Gina, the main attendant was awesome, very helpful always.
Excellent facilities and very friendly staff. I felt very secure with my vessel here and very much look forward to my next stay.
Nice marina with everything you need, and the tide is really not that bad. Super convenient (walking distance) to downtown St A. We had a nice stay.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff is super nice and friendly. Nice floating docks with good power. (Some are in need of repair from the last storm, but they are working on fixing them). The wifi can be sketchy on the docks, but you can get good WiFi in the hotel lobby or bar.The view is outstanding. The social hour is a nice plus. The snacks are good and you get to meet not only fellow boaters, but hotel guests as well.
No issues. Easy in and out. Protection from boat wake.
nice clean hotel , every room has ocean view looking at the beautiful St Augustine historic bridge
Super easy to dock with our boat. Staff at Marker 8 are wonderful
This is one of our favorite getaways! The marina is quant and secure to guests only. It’s always a pleasure to come back and be recognized by the staff. Thank you for another wonderful weekend!!
Excellent. Great location to tour city, A+ facilities and staff
The hotel & Marina looks like it’s recently been refurbished very nice. It wasn’t crowded at all when we were there the currents are strong and crazy and they don’t tell you this when you make the reservation, they call you you the morning of your reservation, they want you to come during slack tide. That would be good information to have the day before. Not the morning you’re leaving for the marina . It’s right beside the bridge, you can walk over to go to everything in Saint Augustine maybe five minute walk.
Getting a slip was easy, great proximity to hotel. Very good experience.
Such a convenient marina to dock the boat, stay in the motel, and enjoy St Augustine. This was our second time visiting. Admittedly, the marina lacks a fuel dock/pump out, and the staff is more focused on the motel operations than the marina. Be sure to come and go at slack tide to avoid the strong currents. For us the location is wonderful as it is a short walk over the bridge to all of the restaurants and shops in St Augustine. If you want to rent bikes, go with Anastasia Bike rentals - they will drop off and pick up at the marina / motel.
very good location , very nice and helpful people at the desk but please be aware there are no dock hands and the current is very strong you'll want to dock at slack tide. we would love to come back some time !!!
Love the small community atmosphere and the friendly staff. We will be back!
This is a non staffed marina and depends heavily on dockwa for all its communications and as a result can not communicate in a timely manner if there is weather or other pressing concerns. We did attempt to cancel a reservation request before our reservation was accepted- while it was still pending-but no one received our message. Instead it was accepted and treated as inside the non refundable window even though our request had been turned in long before. If you have any thought that you may stay for 10 days then try to book for one month because the cost is the same and you will be protected for a longer time if you do not get the weather window you are looking for. The monthly rate is a fair deal. The terms and communication style from the owner and dockwa are all intended to keep you guessing and spending. This is not uncommon in St. Augustine where there is an incredible shortage of dockage and services for boaters. The current is incredible at the end of the dock and quite unsettling. The spa was not functioning during our stay. The lighting was not good and I did hurt myself and walked with a limp for a few days due to no lighting on some of the steps in the dark so be careful. There are some "sleeper" steps so watch out. There is no staff or experienced dock hands to take your lines so current is especially a consideration. The owner did make sure there were many willing dock renters on hand to help when arrived but they were not skilled and we had to make two attempts. So "A" for effort but... again... not really a marina. This is not run like a marina but like a hotel so be advised. The happy hour is pretty neat with modest free food each day and good company from the denizens of the dock. There are good restaurants nearby. The hotel staff are kind but the owner is not interested in your challenges and not a presence on site but a presence in the sense that she is very much in charge. Just an odd vibe. We might come back. But just sort of unsettling. Rock on denizens of Marker 8!
Nice, clean dock. Easy access. Current isn't that bad if you know how to handle your vessel. The whole river has a strong current, so if you can't handle the marina, you can't handle St. Augustine.
The facility is nice but the rate is significantly higher than the City Marina. I was assigned a slip with a partially blocked entry. Waited for slack tide to back out but there was a strong south west wind. Banged into the dock and scratched the hull even with assistance of three people. This slip should only be used for a row boat. No marina dock hands unless you call and sxhedule one.
Wonderful little marina. Great facilities, wonderful staff, and daily social hour to meet other marina and hotel guests. Close walking distance to downtown and several other restaurants. We loved our stay and will definitely be back if in the area again. No pump out at the marina, but Code Brown pump out service will come to your slip via boat for a small fee.
Great location. Just over the bridge which is .5 miles over to Historical St. Augustine.
Terrific staff, beautiful little place, good food nearby
I really enjoyed my stay here. Not sure why there are some bad reviews on other platforms. Good floating docks, then just started some work on them, but was not a issue. Happy hour, in the motel is good addition to have. The marina was quite during my stay so not many people there. Restroom are hotel standard clean and new. Good location, with St. Augustine over the bridge and for a more low key area just down from the marina are some great bars. All staff great and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Thanks
Well maintained and convenient place to dock and stay. Love it!!!
Called me for my slip number before I was there. I really liked knowing where I was going before I pulled in to dock.
Very easy to check in and marina was secure. We had a great time.
Amazing hotel staff, great food/chef, and very kind owner.
Great stay. Good location and amenities. Very accommodating.
Awesome place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again!
I can not recommend this marina. I was assigned a slip and when I returned from a day out I found another boat in my slip. The staff could not identify the owner nor could they explain why this boat was in my assigned slip. I was eventually assigned another slip. However, due to the fast-moving nature of the current, this is a difficult marina to maneuver in. The staff are not helpful and were rude.
My stay at Marker 8 is always outstanding and Dockwa makes the process of reserving a slip super easy. Thank you Dockwa!!!
Stayed for 4th of July and appreciated a place a friend could stay in a room and we could stay in the marina. Great location to watch fireworks. Very nice staff. Showers are clean and above average for a marina. No marina staff so you are on your own with a current that can be strong. Some inexperienced boaters (because it is the 4th of July) hit a docked boat in the slip next to us in the current. Easy to dock at slack tide.
Gym, happy hour, safe, clean restrooms. Walk across the bridge to town!
Awesome location. Gret views Awesome hotel Best breakfast. Thank you Belinda for great service and your auntie for some of the best cookin ever! Currents are tricky. Boaters pay attention!
Love this marina! We stayed 10 nights. Very clean! Safe. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Laundry and full size bathroom/shower with towels were great! Spa pool was even great. We enjoyed walking across the Bridge of Lions to get downtown to activities. Walked to the lighthouse too. Everything is very close. We will stay again when we pass through. Highly recommend staying here.
Marina was very clear about the strong current and provided the times bet suited to dock.
The facilities for boaters are clean. The Happy Hour is a bonus I did not expect. An enjoyable stay for sure!
Always a pleasure to stay here. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Clean restrooms and shower with towels, a boaters dream! Walking distance to everything. Tooter’s Tug will be back!
The stay was fabulous. I highly recommend this facility. Thanks
Nice marina with friendly employees but has a wicked current so docking and leaving should be at slack tide. Someone is usually around to help. Very pet friendly, nice showers with towels, 1 washer and 1 dryer so one load at a time. Be aware there is no pump out. Being a hotel they have a happy hour every day with hors d'oeuvre for free but pay for drinks. Easy walk to Old St Augustine but more peaceful.
Nice stop for St. Augustine- across bridge from town, but worth the walk across Bridge of Lions. Hotel has hot pool, deluxe bathrooms w/ showers, appetizers at 5 & secure docks. Only disadvantage is we could not get off dock with strong SW winds, so stayed another day - so more time to explore. 👍🏼 Fish Camp restaurant about 1 mile easy walk away was great stop for dinner w/ lively atmosphere. Lots of great restaurants & music all around downtown area. Nice stop!
We had a great stay. Well protected from the East winds that were blowing. No pumpout or fuel available
5-stars! Beautiful and super convenient spot overlooking Saint Augustine. The sunsets are the best and the facilities are spotless. The current is strong so heed marina’s advice of docking at slack time.
This is a really nice small marina with great staff. Although they don't have dockhands, the GM came out and helped us tie up. It just happened that the electric service on our dock stopped working, but an electrician was immediately called to respond. Many restaurants and little stores within easy walking distance, including downtown walking across the bridge. We will come back.
I didn’t research thoroughly enough when making our reservations. Currents are tough and fast, no pump out on site, no parking available for marina guests. But otherwise a nice stay. Staff were kind and helpful at motel. There are no Marina staff, so hit and miss if someone will be available to catch lines.
A nice clean marina with great amenities for boaters. Loved our stay and the staff is super helpful!
We love Marker 8, our new STA Fav! Comfortable, quiet dockage, long concrete floating docks, good wind protection, nice spa pool, bar, social hour every day at 5pm. Super nice showers and laundry facility. Very clean and well maintained property. One our annual rotation now.
No Dockmaster. Bathroom nice but very far. No garbage cans near docks
A great stay for us. The facilities were quite good - outdoor spa pool, daily social hour with complimentary snacks, other boaters and staff very friendly and helpful. Showers very nice, large and clean. Downsides - laundry not working but public laundromat about 10 minute walk away. Current very strong so mind the advice to arrive at slack tide. This side of the river has restaurants and not much else but it is an easy walk across the bridge.
Great little Marina, the bathrooms & facilities were very nice and the people were all very helpful and friendly! We will stay again on our way back through this way.
Our last stay at Marker 8 was fantastic. The docks were great and you can't beat the view and proximity to the town. The food in the restaurant was beyond expectations - kudos! Booking and communications were also great.
unwelcoming... placed on outside of dock on a stormy evening while there were plenty of sheltered slips on the inside which remained unused.
This is a great marina. Saint Augustine is a great place to visit and the location of Marker 8 is perfect. The facilities are first rate, true this is more of a hotel than typical marina; however, everything you need is nearby. What makes it particularly great is the staff.
Great location for us. The amenities may have dropped off a bit from the previous five times we slipped up there, but it is a wonderful location, staff first rate and they have a pool/sauna too boot. I highly recommend Marker 8.
Fabulous! Tammy at the front desk of the hotel here and Belinda in the breakfast room with a beautiful we’re absolutely fabulous. I would definitely stay here again.
The staff was amazing, bathrooms were very clean. When we go somewhere that is very touristy we never get grate customer service because they don't expect to ever see you again. Not at MARKER 8, You can feel that the staff at MARKER 8 wants you to come back. They are all about return customers. GRATE JOB TO ALL EMPLOYEES AT MARKER 8!!!! THANK YOU!!
Very pleasant and accommodating staff. Great place to watch 4th of July fireworks.
Wonderful staff. A great place to check out St Augustine. Nice shower and laundry facilities.
We love staying at this marina! The staff is so nice and the amenities are great!
Great little marina near the heart of historic St. Augustine. Nice amenities and very friendly and helpful staff.
This was the best! No hassle marina with gas right across the channel - but the hotel was out of this world. Cute, clean and convenient to walk to downtown. Cool to order breakfast and happy hour snacks included. Everything was just perfect - from the staff to the decor.
Great location! Parking close, even with parking on the street. Not a busy place, so easy to get in and out. Easy to have vendors come and work on the boat. Would definitely stay here again.
Great small marina. We liked the location, clean facilities, friendly staff. Only drawbacks were no pump out or fuel. The security was very good and the complimentary appetizers at happy hour were icing on the cake. We will stop here again.
Facilities and management were great. The only negative aspect of our stay was the constant wave motion from boat traffic in the ICW.
Awesome experience and great place. The best is the happy hour everyday at 5-6. Great people. Great spot.
Marker 8 is a hotel first and Marina second. There is no one that manages the marina. Any help you may need you must rely in a fellow boater being in the area when you arrive. I asked the nice lady at the front desk a question and her response was ‘“I don’t like to bother the owner.” Really? The showers this morning were lukewarm for both my wife and I. I’ll look for other options on my way back through St Augustine.
Great amenities. Spotlessly clean. Hotel staff very courteous and helpful to boaters. Great group of cruisers brought together by the afternoon Marina supplied happy hour.
No trash cans on the dock is a big inconvenience. Besides that it is a beautiful facility and check in is extremely easy. Docks are well maintained. Staff is friendly. Seriously though... A trashcan by the jet ski lift would be amazing.
It was a spur of the moment trip by boat from Ormond Beach to St Augustine. The staff amazingly friendly and more than helpful with booking a boat slip at the last minute. A special thanks to the owner for allowing this last minute Booking. Both Marker 8 and Edgewater Inn and are beautiful, and very clean. The view was outstanding. I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Thank you again.
Great stay! No problem asking for and getting assistance docking. Convenient to Bridge of Lions. Return is warranted
We were totally impressed with the Marker 8 Marina and the associated facilities. It was as convenient to downtown as the City Marina; 15 minute walk to the fort, the Columbia Restaurant and all of the other wonderful businesses in the historic downtown area. We were invited to a guest reception which was fantastic and inspired us to partake in their fabulous breakfast the following morning. Their chef is wonderful and if I lived in the area I would be hiring her as a caterer. For the mariner, the bathroom facilities are exceptionally clean with a spacious shower. Emphasis on SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. Kudos to the hotel cleaning staff. The entire property was exceptionally well maintained and if the hotel had a more liberal pet policy I would enjoy being a hotel guest during my land based visits to St Augustine. I give a shout-out to the property owner and managers who have transformed a cool vintage property into a modern resort worthy of a five star rating. I will definitely return on my next transit.
Great location, facilities, and amenities! Walkable bikeable to the downtown of St Augustine. Very quaint and friendly atmosphere. The owner Virginia Whetstone is very welcoming, but she could use the help of a dockmaster to maintain the docks; otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
Didn't even get to stay there; they never replied back to my reservation request. This is unsatisfactory for a business not to respond back with without a "standby" reply at a minimum.
Super heavy current. Very clean. There is definitely a difference in hotel patrons snd cruisers by hotel staff and treated a bit differently. Loved Tammi!
Awesome place. Friendly and helpful staff Great amenities.
Super friendly hotel staff. Loved the happy hour and other amenities shared with the boaters in the marina.
Outstanding!! Friendly and courteous staff. Great rooms with great view. Convenient location. And great dockage.
Fantastic staff all around. Marina and hotel were great.
very well maintained dock, clean, power and water on hand, plenty space couldn't ask for more. Phil
FYI - There is no radio contact. There is no assistance at the dock. Boaters cannot use the pool at night?...? And, bring your own towel! Great spot, wide slip, easy in and out.
Nice marina. Great shower facilities. Docking during changing tides with wind can be challenging. Perfect location. Only wish Dockwa would have called with slip assignment as promised so I wouldn’t have to tie up twice.
Great stop. Nice amenities and convenient to Historic St Augustine. Enjoyed the gym, hot tub, and happy hour. Docks a little rocky in 15-20 mph NE winds. Would return next time we pass through.
This Marina was perfect!! There could not be a better location in the mand laundry! Very clean and quiet, yet you can walk to so many restaurants on the island and over the Bridge of Lions into the prettiest Old City in America where there is shopping, sightseeing, And restaurants galore!!!
Really Nice Marina but the currents are really strong many people had trouble getting in their slips.
Great marina, with current and tides definitely need to come in at slack tide. But lots of help for lines. Nice spa pool, social hot with appetizers, boaters breakfast at restaurant for 6.95. Beautiful view with dolphins playing often.
Friendly Marina, nice docks, nice bath/shower/laundry facilities. Friendly staff. Beautiful sunset views and great access to restaurants.
Beautiful Hotel and Marina right on the ICW. The staff was very professional and helpful with everything I needed it. The entire complex spotless. I will definitely stay again.
Facilities are great. Hotel staff were superb. Current is rough and difficult to time. No trained dock hands. Long term boaters were terrific so we had knowledgeable help once we met them.
The staff and amenities are first class here. Great service, very clean restrooms/showers, nice exercise room, Laundry machines. Everything sparkling clean and fresh. Daily happy hour with complimentary snacks was really good, and provided the opportunity to meet other boaters and hotel guests. I am sure I will be back.
Overall, it was a good stay. Some of he past amenities were gone such as free breakfast and cocktail coupon. We weren't able to get any wifi on the docks, and even in the gym it was marginal. Bathroom/showers were nice, and gym access was good. While there was no parking in the hotel, there was ample free street parking most of the time.
Safe and clean marina located in a great place. Need to add a couple of carrying carts
Motel appears to have been recently renovated and was nice. Motel employees were very friendly. Docks were in great shape and great location relative to downtown St Augustine. Motel called the morning of arrival with slip number and was very polite. Nothing bad but felt it was way overpriced for what is was; no facilities, no dock hands, no fuel...just a dock.
We have never ever stayed at a place like this. If I read this review you might think "oh they are hard to please" but I promise you we are not. I even spent 24 hrs thinking about this before deciding to post. Seems to me this place is run by people who are just coming out of rehab and run by a super greedy owner. Staff have terrible customer service skills and are only able to do the basics like housekeeping and cooking. Its really pitiful. Good for them if they are helping the community. Just let that be known because we are certainly willing to support a cause. As a boater-I would recommend never plan to stay here. Its terrible. You will be treated like you are bothering them (even though you pay for EVERYTHING) and the staff is not capable. Apparently using Dockwa is the problem as to why they can't help boaters at the front desk. But they sure can take your money... Bottom line: worst marina we have ever stayed and here is why: 1. No ladders on site should you fall into the water or need to access the water for any reason. 2. No trash cans at all in the marina and they do not intend to place any. You will have to take your trash to the dumpster which you cannot access but you can wait for the staff to arrive. 3. Showers are not easily accessible from marina. IF you can even get a key from the front desk. 4. Staff is incredibly rude. Day and night. 5. Will tell you that if you need dock help to give them a 1 hour notice. That detail is not posted anywhere. But expect them to act like you are annoying them for even asking. 6. Surprise! You will find out there is no marina staff at all. Ever. But after giving the 1 hr notice, plan to get the cook and general manager who have no idea what to do and will say "What did you want me to do? We have no idea about boats." 7. Little to no lighting on dock. Very dangerous. 8. No internet service. Yet you will pay for it. Don't ask about it because the rude staff will simply say "its not working". 9. Plan to pay extra for everything inside because you are "staying at the marina and not a hotel guest". Even was refused a napkin for the $15 breakfast which was horrible. Though the waitress did hand me a pile of brown paper towels after she handed a hotel guest a cloth napkin. 10. No reflective tape on the dock to illuminate dock slip numbers. You will have to guess on your own. 11. Do not plan to get any service from the front desk. They wear captains shirts but cannot log on to the computer or help marina guests. And they certainly cannot come out of the office.
Amazing, extremely accommodating for our needs, super friendly staff. We did not stay overnight, we only docked our boat: however, we viewed the rooms and they are very nice! Definitely recommend Marker 8. We will be back!
Great marina, excellent service. Those also using the marina were also incredibly helpful.
Fantastic floating docks and the view was spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marker 8 Motel and Marina. The room was nice and the complimentary full, "served" breakfast every day was such a bonus. The food was awesome! Our room struggled just a little with staying cool, but that was my opinion after a day in the sun. The hotel's pool/spa was warm which was great in the evening after hours, but I wished for a cold pool after boating. Overall, great stay and the staff at the hotel was top notch!
Our family really really enjoyed Marker 8 Marina. The bathrooms are so all renovated complete with complimentary luxurious white towels. We get free continental breakfast BUT splurging on breakfast upstairs is well worth it. The service and the food made by Chef Angela was just so sumptuous. The staff is also so phenomenal---thank you John, Victoria and Sierra. The only negative in the whole thing is the very very long walk from the docks to the boater's bathroom. That's a very very long walk---but good exercise.
Great location which made it an easy decision to come back this year.
It continues to be an excellent marina, the staff was spot on. We had 6 Boats staying there on Saturday night, and as you can imagine we had a party. No issues from anyone. Great place we will be back soon.
In lite of Covid 19 we were not expecting dock master and owner to help us tie up. Welcome surprise. Good docks, power, water. No pool. Showers and bathrooms good. Friendly and helpful liveaboards. would stay again.
Great location with great facilities - one of the best!!
We love Marker 8 and consider it our ‘home port’ whenever we visit St. Augustine. Jim, Stephanie and Blue - Floating Home
Great service from the staff. Hotel amenities are included.
We stayed for a month and had a fantastic time at Marker 8. Staff is hands down, the BEST we've encountered, they are pet friendly, facilities are new and very clean. They offer a cruisers breakfast and evening snacks every day. Beer and wine available in the lounge. Great wifi signal.... nice gym....nice pool... perfect location to downtown and restaurants... really, not much more you could hope for in a marina! We had 2 groups of friends/family come visit and it was great they could just stay at the Marker 8 hotel. On the down side, there is no pump-out facility on site, provisioning stores are pretty far (but it's far from most marinas in St.A) and pulling in to the marina can be a bear because of VERY strong currents (the staff always greets boats on arrival to help pull in). We will stay at Marker 8 next time were passing through St. A, for sure!
Great place friendly staff ! Definitely would come back.
The hotel had a nice workout area and continental breakfast each morning along with happy hour wine at night. We will be back.
Arrived with a fast outgoing tide. Virginia & Bruce provided needed docking assistance and a great welcome. The Marina/motel have great amenities, is modern, clean with a very friendly staff to match. Highly recommend.
It was our first time staying here and it won’t be our last! Everything about Marker 8 was nothing short of spectacular. The marina is nearly brand new, the marina showers and guest amenities are top notch. The staff is the most friendly we’ve ever met! EVERYONE we met truly enjoyed helping out. Convenient to city marina for fuel and three short minutes to the Atlantic. We LOVED everything about Marker 8!
Marina was nice - people were very friendly and accommodating at the marina. we ended up getting stuck due to engine issues and we were able to stay additional time. John in the office was wonderful. The marina provided a continental breakfast and social hour for marina and hotel members. Pricing was reasonable as well.
We really enjoyed our stay here. New facilities, well kept. Plenty of unexpected perks like.....fresh towels in the shower rooms!
Great Marina, two free glasses of wine, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants, amazing views at night. Hot tub, super friendly staff, biggest and cleanest showers I have seen with hotel towels included, this is a must see location, breakfast is also included can’t find a better deal near st. Aug.
Amazing views, perfect location, the best staff and the breakfast was to die for!!! Soo happy we decided to stay here!! Will definitely be staying here again! Well worth the money!!
The hotel and staff was great! Very clean and breakfast was great, not to mention a great view! Unfortunately, we were not able to spend the night on the boat due to rough current in the marina...
