We can't say enough good things about our one night stay here. Curtis the Dockmaster was so accommodating. We weren't sure which day we would arrive since the weather was so unpredictable this time of year. Curtis was flexible and took care of all our needs. Walk to town is easy, fuel prices are great, nice bathrooms. Easy hook up to water and electric. Would definitely stay again.

September 10,2024 Although we only had a short one night stay, we enjoyed it immensely. Safe Harbor Onset is a lovely location after transiting the Cape Cod Canal. The staff in the facilities are awesome. You’ll enjoy your stay. September 2023 Our annual stop at Onset. Always a pleasure. They treat us like family. New boaters lounge is being built for 2024! Overall, great staff and facilities! July 2022 the Dock Master, helped us land our 34ft sailboat with an opposing wind. After fueling up, watering up and pumping out, we decided to stay in a slip for a few nights to wait out the upcoming storm. Again The staff assisted us docking into the slip, and tie ing our lines for the expected blow. Thank you for wonderful service!! Also the marina facilities are top notch and very clean. We will be back next year. The above is my comment from a few years ago. The service and the friendliness of Onset continues. They are such lovely people and very helpful. We had a wonderful stay at a well cared for Marina. I even got my laundry done! September 14-16, 2021 Every year we thoroughly enjoy our time at this marina. Roland, the dockmaster has always been very helpful. And the people on the dock have been great about handling lines and getting us in safely. This is a clean, well run marina. Its always a pleasure to stay at SH Onset Bay. What a model Dock! Between Tom, Chris and the other dock attendants it is surely one of the cleanest and well run docks in the Northeast. Even down to the Brand New Grills, wait, they were new? They were so clean you fooled us. Thanks again! Look forward to see whats instore for next year!

Safe Harbor staff never disappoints. They provided detailed instructions for navigating into Onset and to the marina, including a mooring assignment and directions. Nice to get gate/heads/showers code in advance, too. The marina’s basic boatyard; nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose. A short easy walk into town. Update: We arrived with winds building and sustained gusts of 25 kts. Feeling uncomfortable about picking up a mooring and getting back and forth for dog breaks, I asked if we could stay on the long dock for the night. The staff was great in finding space for us, including for the next night where the wind was the same. Safe Harbor never disappoints, Onset Bay included.

The staff went over and above to welcome us and answer all our questions - thank you so much Alyssa. Onset Bay is a tranquil setting - lovely and peaceful. The amenities were great (showers, barbecues, fuel, pump out). I will never forget the SWIFT principle 😁. The town of Onset is quaint - great for biking. The beaches are beautiful. Loved everything about this setting!

Tom at Safe Harbor Onset was great! He was extremely friendly and helpful. The marina facility was great as well. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

What a great spot! I was heading south with a deadline for a fair tide to transit Cape Cod Canal. I made a reservation request on Dockwa and needed a confirmation for approval. I Called the marina and they promised to pass on to the Dock Master. A very short time later, I received a confirmation email and detailed information on the Approach, Dock Number, Starboard Side Tie-up. All the information the Captain needs hower seldom furnished. Curtis met us at the dock with a couple of Dock Hands to assist our tie-up and Shore Power hook-up. He then personally delivered a welcome packet with all of the marina information, as well as a recommended restaurant list! We chatted for awhile about the Maritime Industry we were both involved in. Safe Harboe Onset Bay will be a must stop every summer for us. Thak You for your Hospitality and Professionalism. Grand Day Out, Grand Banks 36.

It’s in a nice, quiet harbor with a cute town within easy walking distance. We love that we received an email with tips to get into our slip in case we arrived after working hours, the codes for gates and showers and advice on which side to have lines ready. This should be a standard at all marinas! The dock crew at this place was exceptionally courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Tom and Owen know what they’re doing and dockmaster Alyssa was phenomenal with advice on Safe Harbor memberships and things around town. “Toms List of Favorite Places” and Alyssa just stopping by to see if we needed anything before they closed for the day was the cherry on top! Highly, highly recommended this marina and will definitely plan a stop here on our return to MD!

Friendly helpful staff

Curtis and Alyssa could not have been more professional as well as the rest of their team, it was my first time there and this will probably be a future vacation destination anytime I am sailing the area, The facilities are top-notch and the town is right there with many things to do and so many good restaurants to choose from I would recommend Safe Harbor Onset Marina very highly to any one, thank you once again

Great crew, great location, great repair yard.

We were on mooring for the better part of week. The marina manager, Alyssa and her staff were wonderful. And we must give the dock master,Curtis and his crew a special 5 star for being so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this facility!

Recently Stayed Here for an Evening, Was very pleased with Dock Staff. Very Kind, Professional, Organized & Put Together. We have been Boating for a long time, Travled up and down the east coast, from Florida & The Bahamas - Boston, fishing several tournaments and Safe Harbor Onset Bay is BY FAR the BEST marina We have ever stayed at. Alyssa ( Member Service Specialist & Dock master) & Curtis ( Dock master) should be VERY Proud of their Team. Alyssa Put on a wonderful Karaoke night event, with a mobile bar and a DJ! Wonderful dock staff and excellent mechanic

Very pleasant and helpful transient dock staff. Well kept facilities. Bit of a walk to town; actually easier by dinghy. Very convenient. They even have a pumpout boat on Sundays! Definitely would visit again.

Great Marina. Dock staff especially Tom and Owen) were fantastic. Great the fuel pumps are up (were down last Sep). Onset Harbor is a great stop over point and Safe Harbor Onset is a great marina (even better if you're a Safe Harbor member).

The whole crew was very accommodating and up beat everyone worked together and made you feel welcome I would recommend this location to anyone the location is great and well cared for

Alyssa was great, met at the dock ready help out with lines with a smile. The amenities (toilet shower and laundry) all in great shape. The marina is a short walk to several restaurants and a perfect layover while waiting for the canal to turn or wait out some nasty conditions in the bay. Really can't say enough good things about the manager, will definitely be back and highly recommend adding this stop to your travels on buzzards bay.

Our stay at Onset Bay was excellent. The staff was fantastic, best service from any marina I've been at. When we landed, we were met by Tom and two others that handled the lanes, help us move around fenders, got us marina information and local details, great customer service, outstanding. The dock master "Alyssa" was incredible!! I cannot say enough about this marina and staff - Wow!! Thank you all.

The people were great. The Dockhand Tom went above and beyond to make sure we had a great visit including his favorite restaurant list. The docks excellent. The facilities were clean and well stocked.

This is a wonderful, well-run, Safe Harbor location. Alyssa and her staff were very helpful with docking and dining recommendations. Onset has a few good restaurants within walking distance as well as a small grocery store and good ice cream. We look forward to revisiting!

One of the best marinas for transient dockage. Staff is dependable, professional and cannot do enough for you! The restrooms and laundry areas were spotless. Short walk to nearby restaurants, plenty of ospreys to watch and a beautiful and peaceful place to be.

Easy getting in & out. Staff very helpful & friendly!

We’ve stayed in great SH marinas up and down the coast, and the dock staff at Onset was hands down the friendliest and most helpful. Alyssa and Tom rocked it, made us feel so welcome and lent us a hand when friends suddenly showed up for a short visit. Alyssa has the best attitude and it’s contagious. Excellent staff, very helpful and attentive, especially Tom. I had a call from Alyssa to confirm draft, as it is just 6 ft at low tide. Great communication throughout. New floating dock is nice, however after hours there is a fair bit of traffic as folks come in from moorings looking for a temporary spot to load their boat for an outing. The fuel dock is not yet operational and the wi-fi is spotty at the transient dock. The town is lovely, we had excellent meals at places recommend by the marina and by Tom. There is renovation ongoing and I am sure by next year it will warrant 5 stars.

We were going for three days and stayed a week. The staff here is absolutely excellent. The harbor is cute and lots of places to explore by dinghy. Nice beach in town.

Staff and services were great!

Great marina tucked off to the side of the cape cod canal. They have a massive new fuel dock with nice slips and finger piers. The water pressure on the new dock is AMAZING, 50amp electric, and an amazing view of the canal and sunset. They have some great priced fuel which as of May 30th 2023 they’re just days away from getting their new fuel dock up and running. Safe Harbor is reinvesting a lot of money into this property to improve the amenities and marina life. The staff is great, before I arrived I knew exactly where I was going and how I was going to tie up. Made life easy! We’ll be back for sure!

10/10! What a great spot! The people are lovely, everything you need is a dinghy ride away, Wicket’s Island is so cool and accessible, and the whole mooring field is quiet and super protected. It’s a little skinny for us at low tide with a 6’6” draft, but if you stick to the well marked channel it’s no worries. 6 weeks into a cruise from WLIS to Casco Bay and back, so far this is our favorite place. We will be back! S/V Apeiron

This is our 3rd trip to Safe Harbor and the lead Dock person, ALLY, is amazing. She runs to everyone, gets everything organized for a stress free docking. She Helps with gas, pump out. Everything is "no problem" and she does it all with a smile. She runs a great team and is huge asset to this safe harbor, they all should have a Ally !

Staff and organization get 5 stars. I gave it 4 because I was asked to dock stern in and the dock had no padding and the wind pushed the boat into the metal plate that dinged up the cover on my motor. Next time I'll know better to get the boat tied up with the motor backed away from the dock. I would not hesitate to use this marina again.

Facilities were great, but what made our stay exceptional was the quality of the staff- Abbie and her team were extremely helpful, friendly and very professional, and our whole family had a wonderful experience. 3 staff were at the dock to meet us, and within minutes they brought out the pump out boat - a super welcome. Onset is lovely, we paddled around the shore and island.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Thanks to all of them. The location is very calm and protected and a walk around the area is lovely.

Fantastic Marina to stay at, well run and a beautiful location. Roland, Allie and their staff are true professional's who know how to run a marina and take care of all of their guest needs.

Our second visit on our way back south from Maine. Roland and staff were ready with the work boat to get us secured to the dock, which was accomplished quickly and without any difficulties. Enjoyed a great visit for two nights this time and found it very comfortable and relaxing. Visited town by launch for lunch and then walked to Stonebridge for a cocktail in the evening. Roland and his staff took great care of us and we will visit again when our travels take us up Buzzards Bay in the future. Returned to Onset for 2021. Service remains excellent. Received an email prior to arrival with docking assignment to make preparing lines and fenders ahead easy. Dock crew was standing by to assist as we approached and the boat was secured quickly and easily. A beautiful and quiet location which we continue to visit in the future.

It was a little tricky getting into the marina, but once we docked we were really happy. We found the town lacking a little, but the marina vistas and sunset were spectacular. We were put right on the fuel dock, had to wait to pull into slip and out of slip for boats fueling. Very active spot no privacy until after 7 when fuel dock closed. I would check where you are going to be located before booking here again.

This whole harbor is a hidden gem. We stopped here on our way to the Vineyard between a 0kt motoring day and a 30kt wild sail day. A great mooring spot, nice and quiet, secure from the weather in pretty much any direction. We didn't go ashore (needed to be up early to sail on for our itinerary) but loved the evening here in the cockpit. Would definitely revisit. And don't be afraid of the narrow channel in - it's well marked and simple to navigate, and the marina gave great specific instructions on where to go.

The staff at Safe Harbor marine are just so fantastic. They just go out of their way to make sure everything is right for your stay.

We had a very nice stay at Onset. I had several packages delivered tome there before and during our stay, whch is always risky, but the staff made sure i received them all, and even brought them right to the boat. Access to the Canal is as easy as it could be. Our shedule kept shifting before we got there which caused several cancellations and rebookings, and they were all takrn care of with no fuss and plenty of good humour. Communication was also excellent. We’ll be back in a month as we head home, and are lookig forward to it.

Ally and Roland are amazing people. They did an incredible job taking care of me and my little sister, and I will always return to this marina whenever I'm in the area. I mean even when I'm not on a boat - whenever you meet people this kind and good at what they do, you should stay connected with them. These two keep the spirit of maritime heritage and hospitality alive in Onset, and they reminded me that good people really do exist.

Friendly, helpful staff. Dockmaster Roland is a treasure! Modern, clean and well-maintained facilities with an old-time feeling you won’t find at the big marinas with concrete docks and golf carts. Whether you are looking for a place to sit out the storm or take in the charms of the South Coast, Onset Bay Marina has everything you need.

Wonderful staff and great location. Wish we could have used the electrical hook-up, but our old boat tripped the new pedestals. We've had the problem in other marinas, but we had no issues at the Safe Harbor in Stamford.

Nice quiet anchorage with all the amenities you’d want: fuel, showers, laundry etc No launch service though, but I can understand that in their situation.

The staff at Onset Bay Marina was very helpful and friendly. This is an excellent location to prep for a canal transit.

Onset Bay was lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this marina. Dockwa, however, is a terrible way to make a reservation. We were all tied up and settled into the marina before we received an email confirmation from Dockwa. It is impossible to wait 24 hours for a confirmation when you are on the water and conditions determine that you need to seek a safe harbor.

Beautiful, quiet and well protected. The staff are very helpful, and the town has some great places to eat. This is a perfect place to stay on a trip that includes the Cape Cod Canal, or just for a relaxed get-away.

This is our home port and we love it. Roland is the best dockmaster, hands down. He is always helpful, calm even when customers are freaking out, and has a wicked sense of humor.

Safe Harbor Onset Bay is one of my favorite New England marinas. I always stop in here on my way through the CCC. It’s easy to get to with excellent channel navaids. The staff, especially Brandon, is most helpful and courteous. Facilities are clean and comfortable. I enjoy riding my dinghy around the bay. The only negative is lack of walking distance restaurants and grocery store, but I can easily bike to town. I plan to return each time I cruise northward. Mitch Gilbert s/v Pleiades, Westbrook, CT

Great people and a good facility. We stopped using Sandwich for fuel both north and southbound since we stopped here a couple of years ago. We now always stop for fuel and water and try to stay a night or two each way.

Great people, great facilities, and great location

Would have been four stars, reduced because at 7am Saturday when we went to shower there was NO hot water in either men’s or women’s room. Otherwise fuel dock was efficient and moorings were convenient.

Informative e-mail sen out prior to arrival. Very friendly staff who helped out in difficult docking conditions. Good facilities - showers, wi-fi. One negative is the distance from “downtown” Onset - about a 15-minute walk.

Marina sits in the middle of Onset Harbor which is well protected from the winds in most directions. We fueled up before getting our slip assignment. Staff was very helpful getting us set up in our slip. Roland stuck around to make sure we were settled. Onset is a pretty little town with several restaurants within a 15 minute walk. It is also a great stopover if you’re going east up the Cape Cod canal since it’s less than 10 minutes to the Bourne Railroad bridge. We’ll stop by on our way back from Boston. Great staff and good restrooms and showers.

Always a pleasant stay...Roland and team are very professional and accommodating. The bathrooms/laundry facility were very clean. Harbor is calm and safe....it is a great stop over for us after a week in MV or getting thru the canal making our way to/from home.

Couldn't have been better! Roland and his crew are first class, and were extremely helpful in all aspects of our overnight visit. Great little town within an easy walk from the marina. I highly recommend the Onset Bay Marina.

The staff was the what made this place so special. The facility is top notch. Everything was clean and very organized. The "team" as they refer to themselves was simply outstanding, very courteous and professional, but yet had great personalities. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back. Tide together

An amazing marina! Stayed here after fouling a prop in buzzards bay and couldn’t have been happier to foul a prop. From the moment we coasted in to the dock the staff at Safe Harbor Onset Bay Marina helped to get us back up and running and provided a lovely place to stay until the weather cleared up and we could navigate buzzards bay. Whether waiting to go in to the cape cod canal or staying on the way out or just to visit this is the best possible location! Just a short walk from a quaint town and restaurants and providing clean functional facilities and a lovely scenery it’s a quite wonderful place to stay. And once again I can’t say enough great things about the staff, the friendliest and most helpful people around! Thanks Roland and Alyssa!

Dealing with bad weather, I needed a marina with short notice and a late arrival. Roland was able to accommodate me even though the marina was full and busy with fall haul outs. The facilities were new and clean and the Dockwa app made booking easy.

We have stayed at Onset Bay Marina twice, in July and in September. We find the people friendly and facilities are clean. The fuel dock is easy to access and Dock Master Roland is very helpful. We will definitely recommend this marina to our cruising friends.

Friendly staff. I was late in arriving and the gas dock attendant stayed until I was moored and provided information about the marina.

We love stopping at this marina because of it’t location to the Canal. Diesel fuel prices are some of the lowest around, and include Vavetech. Showers are nice and convenient. Always enjoy being greeted by Roland. He is always pleasant, calm and more than willing to help with anything he can. Thanks for all you do......

The dock master Roland, and Alyssa were very helpful both on the dock, and in giving us information about the local area including the towns launch service.

Stayed at Onset bay coming and going from RI to Maine. Great and convenient spot right off the canal. Quiet peaceful moorings, friendly and helpful staff, and very fair prices for fuel, ice, and moorings. Clean bathrooms and showers (yeah!) and a safe place to be in a storm. We'll be back.

We were only in Onset overnight, before going through the Cape Cod Canal in the morning. I appreciated the email several days before our arrival with details about the Marina. Also got an email with our mooring assignment. The dock staff were friendly and competent, and got us on our way quickly.

Had a terrific overnight at Brewers Onset Bay Marina. The staff and especially Roland Murphy were great. We'll come again!

Onset Bay Marina is a very picturesque, recently re-furbished facility with very welcoming staff in manager Roland and dockmaster Alyssa. They go out of their way to make your experience a personalized pleasure. Onset is a little jewel that is off the main track and worth the visit. Two thumbs up!

Just Spent two night at Onset Bay Marina on very short notice and the stay was great! The Dockmaster Alyssa could not have been more helpful. I pulled into the fuel dock due to severe weather and by the time I was done filling up she already had a slip for me. All of the other dockhands had were friendly and helpful with local info and catching my lines. I look forward to staying there next year as well!

Roland and Alysa are great! Easy dingy row from mooring field. Nice 1/2 mile stroll through local neighborhood to down town area. Laundry mat, country store with everything you will need including wine/beer/booze, numerous restaurants Stay here at least twice a year. Always nice. limited current makes dingy to/from docks easier. On approach be careful not to confuse the canal green with your smaller #1 green- could be a rocky mistake.

This is our second time visiting Onset. This is a wonderful small and quiet marina. The crew was friendly and helpful for any of our needs.

Good service at the docks.

Great, convenient stop at south end of Cape Cod canal. Roland, the marina manager, and his dock hands were knowledgeable and helpful. Minimum amenities at the marina and in town. Fuel and pump out and WORKING wifi were a plus. Would definitely stop here again if it fit our float plan.

After coming in for fuel, we took a mooring on a Thursday night. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The choice of having 87 or 89 octane gasoline was rare. The fuel dock is easy to access and there is fresh water for wash down. They don't have a launch service but the Town of Onset launch was pretty convenient.

Quiet peaceful marina with very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of assistance docking and navigation to marina. Would definitely stay here again.

Sailed up from Newport and stayed at the marina waiting for the morning tides into the CCC. Fabulous in every way. Highly communicative with us when inbound on Dockwa. Stopped for fuel ($2.709 for Diesel on 8/3/17), the hopped over to our slip. They put us (48' sailboat) on a T-head. Marina has clearly had a lot of recent improvements (docks, fuel, etc). Way more help than we expected tying up. Cute town...bit of a walk in, but a few places for dinner, ice cream, etc. Would definitely stop again if the opportunity presented.

Brewer Onset Bay Marina was a perfect spot to stay overnight! The marina staff were friendly and helpful! The shops and restaurants were close by as well. Will be back.

Improved facility since Brewer purchase. Some confusion with dockage request, which was straightened out upon arrival. New fuel docks and other amenities. Able to call directly to marina staff with inquiries about dockage facilities.

Stayed one night on a mooring waiting to enter Canal on early morning tide. Great protected spot. Great help from Roland in guiding us in.
