Scituate Harbor |
Visiting Scituate Harbor by boat this summer? If so, the Satuit Boat Club can arrange use of a member’s vacant mooring. The guest fee of $60/night includes launch service and the use of the club’s facilities (wi-fi, showers, kitchen, widescreen tv, grills, etc). We are a short walk from an exciting business district with many dining options, fine stores, a market, boat yard, marine supplies store and other attractions. If you contact our dockmaster, he will send a detailed description of the harbor’s downtown area.
My first overnight sailing trip 11 years ago was to Scituate -- I knew nothing to very little then and picked this stop randomly off a chart. I have stayed umpteen times since and have enjoyed every stay. Ed runs the launch and the reservations and regularly goes above and beyond to accommodate new and return sailors alike. I later learned that private club transient moorings are like Coke and Pepsi in Scituate -- you are "Boat Club" or "Yacht Club" on the radio and both are next to each other. I happened to choose "Pepsi" by accident and have never looked back. The launch is responsive and people are kind. Facility has a (as in one) nifty little shower room where you can put your stuff on a bench and jump it the shower behind a curtain. so your stuff stays dry and you have plenty of room. His and her bathrooms adjoin down a short hall. The rest of the club is basically a large room with a view attached to a large kitchen. Grills are between the club and the water and views are lovely. Dinghy dock also available and convenient and you can leave your dinghy at the town dock at the innermost harbor when you go explore the town. You cannot go wrong with "Boat Club."
