We enjoyed our stay at Bull River Marina. The staff was helpful and courteous. There is a one-stall bathroom for each gender and it also includes the shower. It is cleaned daily. The docks aren't in great shape, but were sufficient. There is a strong current so be aware of that when docking and tying up. Also, the bridge to the north of the marina is fixed. At high tide, the opening is just under 20 feet. The tide is 6-7 feet, so at low tide there is quite a bit of clearance. You can also approach this marina from the ocean side where clearance is not an issue. There is a delicious restaurant across the street called the Flying Fish!
Great value for money. Super friendly staff, very well kept restrooms. No frills marina, no laundry.
Not many services but staff is pleasant. However, don't ask for a ride to the airport :(!
Beautiful marina with amazing kind employees. If you are traveling by definitely worth a visit!
We confirmed our reservation on Wednesday for a one night stay on Friday. We had boat trouble and needed to haul the boat out so we had to cancel. I cancelled on Friday morning, less than 36 hrs after reserving. They charged me a nights stay because they have a 2 week cancel policy. I explained the details, and the 'only a day part, but they didnt seem to care. They said we cost them a night because someone might have stayed but they reserved the space for us. Not likely, because Friday had just started so they didnt know they had or hadnt missed a booking. I Do not recommend. Dont seem very boater friendly.
Awesome Marina! Everyone was nice and helpful! 1.5 mile walk to a grocery store. Gas station with Minimart a couple of blocks away, flying fish restaurant across the street ( great food and live music on the weekends) Came in from the ocean on high tide and never saw less than 15' of water... we will be back, thanks for the great stay!
Great little marina at a good price. The amenities are a bit lacking, but otherwise a great place to stay.
Super fiendly and caring staff. Will stay here again.
Nice little marina just outside of downtown Savannah
BRM is a wonderful place! Everyone that works here is just amazing and the marina has a very home-like vibe! There is so much to explore here and I’m looking forward to staying longer!
The people there are very helpful and friendly
It is likely that this marina is fine for smaller boats or for boaters with low expectations. From the moment we arrived to discover that the deck hands had no clue as to how to handle lines (pro tip: put it around the cleat to gain leverage) we realized there may have been better options we should have considered. We left our boat for one month, stopping in for 1-2 days twice during that time. During that brief stay, another boat ran into ours while being handled by the deck hands and we sustained damage to our hull and rails. Then, at some point during the week before we departed our power breaker was flipped, which caused us to lose electricity, our battery bank was completely drained and our refrigerator/freezer was shut down, causing all of our food to be ruined causing everything to melt and drain onto the floors. No one from the marina checks to ensure power is functioning. Again, if you're looking for a very low-key marina with no dock assistance and no need for monitoring, this is probably a fine choice.
Reading many other reviews, I’m guessing we probably Just hit this marina at a bad time. Upon arrival, we could not raise anyone on either the VHF or phone (3PM on a Sunday). No assistance at all in docking. Finally got someone to help with fueling (advise you call for price first—it was the most expensive diesel we saw on our entire route from Stuart to Beaufort SC). The facilities are dated but adequate, and the location is on a scenic and quiet river (a 25 foot fixed bridge site just north, so check routing). This would have been a 4 star rating had we received any assistance or even met a knowledgeable employees during our multi day stay). I suspect their normal (typical) service is better than what we experienced, but for us it was a disappointment.
Docked there for one night. We were met by two dock hands who helped us dock and tie up the boat. They were very helpful and friendly. Great location easy to get to off the inter coastal water way with deep water.
People were very helpful and great to work with. Enjoyed our stay.
Bull River Marina is a nice spot just 8 miles from the Savannah Historic District, about a 15 minute ride share. WILLIE, the Dock Manager is so personable & knowledgeable. He knew exactly what to do when our boat was docking against wind and current. He was WONDERFUL. CHRIS & JENNIFER are FABULOUS dockhands. They are ready, willing, and able to assist with your boat. SYDNEY, at the desk, is informative, cheerful, and kind. The bathroom suites, while older, are always clean. The showers are hot and have very good pressure. The town has so much to offer, as well, with history, museums, shops, restaurants and pubs. We highly recommend Bull River Marina as a great place to stay just outside of Savannah.
No answer on VHF or by phone. Finally had to use horn to get attention. Staff friendly and helpful when available, but facility is a bit run-down. Lots of sand nats.
We had a great stay at Bull River Marina. We had to extend our stay several times and they were always receptive to changes and quick to respond.
Unfortunately we were unable to stay at Bull River Marina due to the fact that the vertical clearance on the islands expressway bridge was too low for our sailboat and was not mentioned in Dockwa. We contacted and explained to Brandon the dock master. He refunded our payment. Wished we could have been able to make it to experience historic Savannah.
Marsh views and friendly staff. Price is right too! 20 minutes to historical district by Uber . Our 2nd visit . Will be back . Even though overpass right there , with bow facing it , noise was minimal.
A very nice marina with convenient Uber access to shopping and historic Savannah. Well run, friendly and not too big! Easy access in and out. We would return.
The crew was super friendly and very helpful! The dock was in good shape with built in fenders. Very Happy!
Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return when we visit this area.
Super staff - very helpful and flexible. Gina is the best. Electric reliable. Only reason for a 4 is the water pressure is a little light. They can help arrange boat services. Location is quiet, yet restaurants and beaches are just an uber or bike ride away. Many waterways to explore. Many sea islands nearby that are protected national wildlife refuges - Wassaw, Ossabaw. Marina also offers tours of historic Dafuskie Island - only accessible by boat. Ocean accessible with no bridges in the way. You can even anchor in the Bull River with no one else around. City of Savannah is an uber ride away - a must see if you have not been. For more info, you can watch our recent video or message us at https://bluedotvoyages.com
5 stars is an understatement. Everyone from managers to dock hands are very polite, helpful, and treat you like family. 100% for sure will be going back as soon as I am able to.
We love this beautiful quiet spot! All the staff here are super helpful, professional and courteous! We are looking forward to spending our Summer and Fall here!
Very nice marina!! Can get to the barrier island quickly from this location.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Courtesy bikes and a laundry would make a big difference.
The staff was very , very helpful. The marina facility was also nice. My only issue was that there is no way to launch a boat at the Marina. I didn’t ask when I made the reservation and just assumed that I would be able to launch on the property. They directed me to a public ramp 3-3 mile drive away then it is a 15 minute boat ride back. All in all nice trip. Be advised to ask if they actually have bait as they didn’t.. contrary to ad, website and road sign
