Very disappointing experience with Absolute Marine's handling of my boat’s bottom painting. As a repeat customer, I followed their process by submitting a service request in March and confirming my drop-off for this past weekend. After delivering the boat, I was presented with an estimate double my previous costs and 65% higher than the pricing indicated on the service intake form that they asked me to complete. When I called to discuss these unexpected charges, I received an email stating they no longer have the bandwidth to complete the work and requesting that I pick up my vessel immediately. Abruptly canceling my service in May left me in a difficult position at the start of the season. This experience and lack of professional communication were extremely frustrating and consistent with the negative feedback I have heard from others.

Marina Response:
We disagree with several statements in this review and want to provide accurate context. This request was for bottom paint only, after approximately three years of the vessel being serviced elsewhere for routine maintenance, winterizing, and general care. As a full-service marina, we prioritize scheduling and pricing accommodations for customers who consistently use us as their primary service provider. The estimate provided reflects current labor, haul-out, materials, and peak-season demand. Marine service costs have increased significantly, and our pricing remains competitive for a full-service facility. There was no last-minute change. Once the estimate was reviewed, it was clear there was a significant disagreement on pricing and scope. At that point, we made the decision not to proceed rather than move forward under disputed expectations. The claim of “consistent negative feedback” is inaccurate and unsupported. We take our reputation seriously and have built long-term relationships with customers who rely on us year after year. We stand behind the quality of our work and how we operate.
