Welcome to the most capable and versatile boatyard in northern New England. Front Street Shipyard in Belfast, Maine, is a yacht yard, marina and storage facility on Penobscot Bay with an expansive facility and broad capabilities. We cater to the needs of every type of vessel ranging from small recreational boats to commercial vessels and superyachts. Whether you spend the summer sailing in Belfast Harbor or just plan to visit mid-coast Maine on your cruising vacation, make Front Street Shipyard your port of call. The channel entrance into Belfast Harbor has a 20-foot depth and the regional tidal range is approximately 10.5 feet. The current runs about 3 knots on average. Front Street Shipyard is a collaboration of expertise and insight. From classic wood techniques to progressive composite solutions, the capabilities span decades of boatbuilding experience and research. To our team at Front Street Shipyard, each yacht is unique and ripe with possibility. There is only one consistency maintained throughout each build and refit: the exceptionally high quality of the end product, both aesthetically and functionally. Diesel fuel truck delivery available upon request
We were without an anchor (they installed a new windlass) a dinghy (cradle they installed failed) and had a bad cutlass bearing - due to services provided at Front Street Shipyard. These are life-safety issue that left us hostage at their dock for 3 weeks, then the A team took over and we were underway in 3 days. They have an A team and a not quite B team, guess which team did the majority of our work. Last year we spent 1 day at a dock for fuel, this year we missed the annual Nova Scotia trip with the Nordhavn group due to their negligence. If your not there every day to verify the job, your more likely going to be chasing leaks, repairing odd items like direction pads for a windlass or replacing small parts that are misplaced or damaged. They left 3 batteries connected over winter. Of course after we paid the full price they only seemed to charge 1/2 price for repairing this fiasco. Considering each window caulked took them 2 hours and the ones I did of the same size only took me 1 hour each... that breaks down to paying a f#@k ton of money. Hope you have a better experience than ours, fair winds and following seas.
Excellent marina! Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff, extraordinarily clean and modern bathrooms, and a loaner car. We will definitely return.

Great staff, super friendly and very helpful.
Very nice and accommodating. Nice clean shower rooms, good Wi-Fi, and short walk to town
Very accommodating. Excellent services. Availability of loaner car for trips to local grocery for reprovisioning is a great plus to offer users of the marina.
Excellent location with first class facilities and service.
Nice protected port, decent quality docks, good facilities. Easy walk to downtown shops and good restaurants. Staff was generally helpful and friendly. Will stay here again.
This was my second stay. It's a full service shipyard with helpful and friendly staff. I've also had work done there and found all to be high quality.
It was nice to be informed ahead of time that we would be on a float instead of a mooring. We appreciate the use of the truck for provisions. Sorry we missed the tour of the shipyard.
Staff was great, facilities clean, location to town and pubs/dining is great. A lot of changes to this location since our last stay in Belfast many years ago.
