Fantastic service. I have been here several times before and the service is always excellent. 53’ Hatteras with a 5’ draft. Absolutely no issues with depth. Good restaurants nearby with the use of the courtesy car.
The Columbus Marina is a great marina. We docked overnight in the winter and were able to get all the service we needed. The staff guided us in - there is a pretty narrow shallow area, but as long as you pay attention to the buoys, it's safe. We made a stop at the fuel dock for diesel and then turned the corner to the transient dock. We were able to get a pump out as well. There was plenty of space for us in a Ranger Tug 29 and our friends in a DeFever 48. The ship store is right above the transient dock and has basics. The laundry room is next to the store and has two washers and two dryers - both nice and work well. Laundry is $1/load. The showers are next to the laundry room. There is one private restroom/shower each for men and women - both with ample space. Only two restrooms is limiting for the size of the marina. We travel with an old golden retriever so she was particularly happy to have grass to use with in 15 feet of the boat. There is a lot of wide open space for good dog walking as well. You do have to call in to the marina to make a reservation and process the transaction in the ship's store.
A great spot to prepare to leave for the lock the next day. The harbormaster was extremely helpful in helping to guide us into the marina and find our slip through a tricky and skinny channel. Only two bathrooms for the whole marina--one mens and one womens with the showers inside, so if someone is showering, the bathroom is taken, which is limiting for the size of the marina. Good courtesy car system and helpful information given to explore the town. Still had to give out all of our boat information there--would be easier if could of been able to provide that info ahead of time, especially when everyone checks in all at the same time.
