Beautiful facility, excellent dock staff, lovely pool
Great location, excellent assistance from Stan docking & pump out. The Galley Store is a pleasant surprise-quite upscale with fine wine selection, truffles, & a few basic supplies - definitely not your typical BP gas station! The staff were kind & very helpful. They are quite short staffed, & it (& perhaps the residual financial hardships from the hurricane) is reflected in some overdue maintenance items-several soft dock boards, “soft” 50 A breaker, (the other breaker on our post was fine) & an abundance of duck poop on the finger docks. Overall the docks are sound and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here in future.
Great little town within strolling distance & first class operation of the wharf- quick responses, good information, 2 to assist with dock lines, clean showers/restrooms, non-ethanol dinghy gas, pump out that works, fairly priced-what’s not to like?
Great location, very sturdy docks & Dockmaster stayed over an hour late to help us dock in 20knt winds. All services are close. Town water is treated but a little earthy (noticeable in restaurants too) we draw 5’ and approach from Albermarle Sound is straightforward using Aquamaps & USACE sonar data. Definitely worth the trip & using Dockwa makes reservations easy since dock master office is only manned part time
Always a good place to stay. Mary is a great addition though we miss her in Beaufort, SC! Pool is very busy & not socially distanced on w/e’s. Pump out is intermittently out of order (though usually fixed the same day) so plan carefully. On site restaurant & pool bar are closed due to COVID-19 but easy walk or dinghy ride/bicycle to restaurants on island. No gasoline of any type on site for dinghy. The closest Marina for non ethanol gas is Clarke’s point marina past Point Patience but en route to Cuckold Creek/ Mill Creek anchorages
