Nice spot. Helpful dock service and several restaurants the equivalen of 2 bkocjs away along the waterfront. We walked up the hill into town to the SingSing Kill brewery, about 10 -15 minutes. No real complaints.
Nice experience. Picked up a big 3# lobster (only $8/#) at Ericas lobsters for dinner, then were greeted at our mooring with coffee and blueberry muffins the next morning. Nothing to complain about!
Definitely a full zervice marina with extensive parts inventory and knowledgeable staff. Fuel docl is deep inside the marina requiring backing in, but dock boys were at the ready. Rockland harbor is a bit exposed and too many boaters don't slow down when rounding the corner, making it a little rolly even in good conditions. Nice laundry facilities and showers too.
Decent location, but glass calmsohard to say howsecure it would be in weather. Staff was very helpful when a lobster pot line got in my prop and rudder. Little store with food (not just snacks) and a decent little restairant within walking distance of the marina.
Convenient location for a stopover between Casco Bay and Portsmouth. I had the outermost mooring and it was quite rolly all night, even though seas offshore were only 2-3'. Any weather from the north will likely be very uncomfortable. Didnt get to shore though they do offer a launch.
Inner harbor moorings are conveniently located, with lots of activity to watch.
Well organized marina. Tied to the dock to ride out tropical storm Elsa for 2 nights. Keep very close to the concrete dock to starboard on final approach. If you get too close to the mooring field, you may end up in the mud. Only complaint was we were put on the outer guest dock with full exposure to the weather, but fortunately wind was mostly from the west, and it wasn't as bad as anticipated.
Mooring is sheltered and not far from the dock. On shore within 3 blocks are several restaurants, a hardware store and a small grocery with liquor. Pleasant community with many unique victorian style homes.
The moorings are not in a harbor, but out in the open, subject to swells and a 5-10 mile fetch. Very uncomfortable in any northeast through south winds. Would be fine in glass calm or east breeze. Menemsha has some small fresh fish markets, gas station conveniences, cafe and ice cream stands, but no real restaurants. You cannot overnight anchor in the pond unfortunately, which would have been way better than on a very uncomfortable mooring. Bay cops will ticket clammers without a license in the pond.
Mooring (bouy #1) has no pennant and only one link of fixed chan to tie to. I was singlehanding a 44' powerboat in 20 kn wind and rain, making for a very difficult, frustrating, and potentially dangerous arrival. There is no excuse for inadequate equipment like that. Most boaters will not be able to use this mooring. A call to the harbormaster (on the Sunday of popular Memorial Day weekend) was unanswered. Maybe 3 stars was too many. Bristol was very pleasant and enjoyable howevef.
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff at the dock and bar, and I got an escort to my mooring. Wifi was down, but they were still getting some of the early season bugs out of the system.
Great location and the launch was very prompt. Delivered some supplies I needed to me on my mooring too.
