Fore Points Marina is an Ocean Havens property - www.oceanhavens.com
Overall great location, very safe and secure with locked gates and overnight security guard. Very close to all of the restaurants and shops, etc. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the bathrooms and showers could’ve definitely been cleaner. Other than that- great stay!
Top notch marina close to center of Old Portland. New infrastructure, helpful staff, friendly atmosphere.
Well maintained and secure marina only a short walk to restaurants and bars. The staff on the dock were helpful and friendly. We'll be back.
Great Marina and crew
Docks are all floating with good fuel, water and power for larger boats. Services are very good and Eric the Dockmaster is extremely helpful and accomodating. It should be noted, commercial and pleasure boats will run at speed through the harbor and significant wakes are a constant event. If you can get a berth inside the marina wave attenuating walls it is no issue. If you lie on the north side superyacht docks it can get quite turbulent the closer to the outside T dock. A north or northeast wind can also make these docks quite rough. If you consider laying on the outside of the superyacht T dock then you might want to be above 1,000 GT otherwise it will be uncomfortable at best. All in all, a great marina and location to downtown Portland and all its great restaurants and bars. A very good crew layover marina. We stayed an extra week because the crew was very happy at Fore Points. The boss also enjoyed the walking trails and down town.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities.
We were supposed to get slip assignments before arrival, that didn't happen so we ended up having to move slips. It's surprising to me that a marina with this many slips only has three bathrooms available. Fore Points was less expensive back when it had an actual reception building. While the marina is convenient from sea, it's no longer the value it once was. I will say that all of the staff were very friendly, professional, and skilled at their jobs, that part was excellent and keep up that good work.
Staff here is A+, Marina is clean, and can’t ask for a better location.
Beautiful marina with a wonderful staff to help with anything you need Excellent location on Portland harbor, easy walk to town and restaurants
Dockhands were welcoming and helpful. Convenient marina for an overnight before heading to mid coast Maine. Had a service provide a washdown so we didn't have to spend the time washing the boat-instead we enjoyed the city.
Pros: - Wonderful Docks, truly world class suitable for any size vessel. - Proximity to downtown - Security, docks are protected by locked security gates. Cons: - Exposed to constant harbor traffic since marina is outside of no wake zones. Docks are exposed and VERY rough. Even with SeaKeeper on, boat is constantly bobbing up and down. Some guests couldn't tolerate the motion and moved into hotel rooms... Wakes diminished to negligible after about 9pm. - There are NO amenities; Think one step up from Porta-Johns. The area outside of docks is literally unfinished gravel! I really wanted to like this marina, unfortunately, I can't imagine that we'll return.
Great marina, Clean, Proffesional
Great Marina. This is now my go to marina when in Portland. Docks are new, stable, spacious and CLEAN. Very close to the center of town shopping and restaurants (the walk is no more than 10 minutes) and they can even help you secure a Rez at some of the top restaurants. Thanks for another great stay. We will be back.
Very nice - nice people.
The Marina and facilities are very good and in good shape. The staff is pleasant and helpful
Beautiful well maintained facility. Short walk to Old Port and good food. Quiet high quality facility.
Friendly staff, very nice marina
An outstanding Marina with qualified staff. The floating docks are wide and in excellent shape. The location could not be better. Bike and walking path literally at the front door. Easy walk to a host of restaurants. A lovely city, and we look forward to returning. Thank you for your hospitality.
First time we have stayed at Fore Points. The location is great, the facilities and the docks are amazing and the staff is friendly and helpful. The BIG downside for me is the are not flexible at all with dates. We were planning to stay for 5 days, but the wind kick up to 30mph, so we had to leave a day early. They were not accommodating AT All. I wasn't looking for a refund, I was looking to reschedule one day later in the season and they wouldn't budge. A real bummer, and possibly a deal breaker for future stays.
The marina is very neat tidy well run. Sone staff need a little more training but otherwise they are all good and helpful.
Great location, new docks, dock hands very friendly. Close to a small beach where they allow dogs prior to 9am and after 5pm, which made our pup happy. Easily walk into the Old Port and to all the wonderful restaurants that Portland has to offer. Be prepared for a VERY rocky stay from boat traffic. We had mechanical issues and dock master was nice to give us a name for a local mechanic. When it came time for departure and we were waiting on mechanic to finish fixing the boat, we asked for a few extra hours on the dock. Were told we could stay until 12pm (1 extra hour) and then needed to leave or pay for additional time on the dock. The other boat we were traveling with were told they needed to leave at 11. When we told staff we'd be happy to pay to ensure our boat was fixed and safe to navigate, Lauren could not tell us how much it would be and was clear she wanted us to depart. We would have happily moved to another slip or the outside dock to finish maintenance but were not afforded that opportunity. Any marina we have ever stayed at has always accommodated boaters with maintenance issues, mostly due to it not being safe to be underway with mechanical issues, so we were surprised to say the least. Marina has great potential, but customer service has growth opportunities.
Very nice modern Marina. Easy to get fuel and wide lanes for navigating to slip! Will stay there again. Staff was excellent too!
Great marina, short walk to great restaurants
We were rather disappointed. We’ve never stayed here, and wanted to try as we have previously used another local marina, but we are Oceans Haven seasonals. Hailing upon arrival didn’t work well, and we felt we were annoying them more than a guest. Directions were not at all clear. Toledo go to H dock but no dock labeled H. Physical docks were nice. Wi-Fi simply didn’t work. I would describe this as a work in progress with grumpy manager. It’s a pass.
I was not told which slip was mine. I was not given a key or a code to get in and out of the date, a kind person let me borrow their key card. There was never any attendant on the premises during the 14 hours I stayed. The slips are new and wide and the location is great. There is absolutely no service.
The slips are great as well as the personnel. Not awarded a 5 star because wi-fi service is terrible. It's intermittent, connection is lost all the time and when connected the speed is unusually slow. Finally, we have been coming here for about 4-years and each year I am told the land side facilities will be completed soon. Still no progress.
People were very nice and helpful; bathrooms are individual toilet/shower units, so privacy is good. Located a short walk from the old port and the touristy areas.
Great location - easy walk along the trail into the heart of the restaurant and pub area. A calm city marina. They bill themselves as a luxury marina but that is more aspirational at this point. Most buildings still temporary. Still, a good spot.
The 5 star reviews make no sense. The docks are gorgeous, but the facilities are trailers and have been for the past several years. The bathrooms have exposed framing, broken trash cans, and the sinks are pulling off the walls. The office is in a glorified mobile home. The location is okay; DiMillio’s is much better. The staff is reasonably friendly, about like we’ve found in most marinas. The docks are 5-star gorgeous, but as soon as you step into dry land the facilities are decidedly 1 star.
Our second stay at Fore Points! Great service from all of the staff and a modern marina. As a newish Marina it is still developing some of its amenities but it has a good location for a short walk to downtown.
Loved our stay with Fore Points. Really first class service all the way around. beautiful, protected docks, and attentive dockhands willing to do whatever you need them to. Very professionally run organization. kudos to them. We’ll be back!
Excellent facilities and friendly staff
Fore Points is Five Star! We just enjoyed a week at Fore Points. The location, staff & vibe was as good as it gets!
Clean, easy docking, exceptionally polite staff, accommodating dock master, close to town, good security, nice amenities. Just great. Except why do I have to create a account to review. That angers me.
Docks are floating and nice and wide. Plenty of room between boats. They live up to their description. We will return.
Fore Points proved to be the ideal staging point for picking up and dropping off crew. Eric and John were both very professional and friendly and clearly put the safety of your boat and crew first. Portland is a wonderful town, and Fore Points, while a good walk away, is a safe, clean, and very efficiently managed vantage point from which to enjoy it. Katherine Merservier could not have been more friendly and helpful, and I look forward to our next visit.
Although they are still using temporary heads & showers as the facility is still under construction, the docks and staff are top notch. Every one of the dock staff who we worked with was neat in appearance, cheerful, knowledgeable and professional. Plus the location is great: a short walk to the Old Port section of town without being right in the noise and bustle of the other marinas. We will definitely be back next time we're in Portland.
When cruising to visit Portland/Casco Bay we have enjoyed staying at FPM several times. The facility is quite new, very professionally operated, clean and the staff have been quite helpful and courteous. What we particularly enjoy is it's close proximity to downtown Portland where can easily walk to restaurants (usually brunch or dinner) as well as enjoying retail shopping. During the day we like to cruise Casco Bay with it's many beautiful Islands then returning to FPM, which is one of our favorite marinas.
Dock, security, and office staff were really helpful, attentive & friendly. Everything was very clean, laundry was easy, perfect location. Coffee truck and outdoor bar were great!
Well the drone shots really were impressive unfortunately the marina building is a mobile trailer and the staff less than hospitable.... unprofessional and not yacht savvy
Nice new docks with plenty of room. Rode out the remnants from Hurricane Ida here without a worry. Staff were very friendly and stayed late to help us tie up and check in when we arrived.
Great staff and great Location
Friendly, helpful staff at a convenient and lovely location.
Excellent facility. Will stay again in the future.
We are liveaboards on a 42 ft catamaran and spent almost a week at Fore Points Marina. We found the staff to be extremely service-oriented and hospitable, the brand new dock to be ample and beautifully appointed, and the location ideal. We loved that while there, we were able to enjoy unobstructed views of the harbor and easy walking access to all the amazing things downtown Portland has to offer (without the noise and crowds). Another bonus is the delicious food truck, Evo, right there on site. Note: at the time of our stay, they did not have laundry machines on site but had plans for them to be installed soon. The marina is brand new and no doubt will only improve with time. We will be back soon!
Fore Points is only 2 years old so everything is brand new. The heads/showers are in temporary buildings but are very nice. The docks are wide and the cleats are movable so they can place them anywhere you want. The staff is extremely friendly helpful and attentive. Katherine and Eric are very hands on and go out of their way to make the experience at Fore Points a positive one. There is a bike/running path right outside the marina which provides a nice way to stroll to town. We spent a week at the marina during a tropical storm and found the docks to be very stable. The staff was available ahead of the storm to assist with additional lines/cleats. Lastly this marina is very quiet. We chose this spot vs. the marina in the heart of Portland because it's just far enough away from the buzz but close enough to walk when we wanted to partake in the fun. I highly recommend Fore Points!
Nice new marina that is still under construction but all the basics are in. No fuel or pumpout as of 8/5/20. Easy walk to downtown and a 2.5 mile bike ride to three grocery stores.
Awesome place - great staff - plenty of room - new amenities
Fore Points' docks are top notch! Probably the best in the state. It's super calm within the concrete docks. The staff here are very helpful and make the stay a pleasant one. You can tell they appreciate their customers. Plus, you can't beat the location being a short walk to Old Port, Portland!
Very exciting to have Fore Points Marina serving Portland Harbor! The staff (both office and dock) were very welcoming and helpful. The wave attenuators offer a smooth stay while docked at the marina. This was the perfect place to enjoy happy hour and also dock for the day while exploring the Old Port.
I can’t say enough amazing things about Fore Points. They care about the overall guest experience from the time you book your first slip to the time you are ready to come back. They actively look for the best places for you to visit during your stay in Portland and welcome you as if you are family. For anyone looking for an adventure for your home away from home, look no further!
The staff was nice. The docks are great. A short 15 minute walk to downtown on a paved walking and bike path by the water. Once they get the regular buildings up, this is the place to stay.
This marina is rather new. It has the potential to be a 5-star marina, but is still suffering from some start-up pains. The staff is top-notch. They are there to help and their dedication to customer service is abundantly clear. However, there were regular electrical problems during my 10 day stay. This didn't directly affect me as my electrical use is minimal, but do check in with the marina to see if they have rectified their situation. (pun intended) The bathroom was nice, but had septic service and would occasionally smell between pump-outs. They were still in the process of adding fencing, painting buildings, security, electricity, etc. Next summer, this will likely be a 5-star facility. They are really trying and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!
To provide a review at this time would not do justice for Forepoints. The marina is just too new but has great potential for future development. During our stay, the electric was sporadic. The fuel pumps were inoperable. Not even all the floating dock boards were screwed down. The club facilities consisted of trailers and tents. The assistants were very helpful and courteous. Looking further to staying here again as it has the potential to be a high class marina.
Marina is still a work in progress. People great, docks are new, power is coming on line. Facilities are being built. Should be an awesome place when done.
Charged for Electric when there was none for our two night stay. Transformer kept on tripping on the dock.
