Experience The Marina at Dana Point located in South Orange County, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. A well protected marina where all the slips are only 5 minutes from open ocean and 32 miles from Santa Catalina Island. Visit us and find out why Richard Henry Dana called our cove "the only romantic spot on the coast".
The rugged natural anchorage formerly known as Capistrano Bay offered shelter to mariners for hundreds of years. Later renamed Dana Point after Richard Henry Dana (1815-1882) a seaman, Harvard trained lawyer and author of the classic sea journal "Two Years before the Mast". The journal documents Dana's 1830s voyage aboard the merchant brig Pilgrim, as he sailed from Boston to California. Dana described Capistrano Bay as "the only romantic spot in California."
Dana Point is now one of the most popular recreational harbors on the west coast. With its surrounding cliffs and beautiful park-like setting, Dana Point Harbor attracts visitors from around the world, for shopping, restaurants, and a host of marine and landside activities and events.
Dana Point Harbor is also the gateway to Doheny State Park one of Californian's most famous and popular beaches.
