If you're tired of the noise, crowds and congestion of the "city by the sea" then come experience the peaceful beauty of Sakonnet. Our location just east of Newport makes us a competitive and enticing alternative as a layover on your way to the Elizabeth islands, Martha's Vineyard, Cape Cod and Nantucket. Upon your arrival our experienced and dedicated staff will assist you making your docking easy and hassle free.
Sakonnet Point Marina enjoys a reciprocal agreement with our neighbors the Sakonnet Point Club. For a fee of $50.00 per boat/per night you can purchase a limited temporary SPC membership. This limited membership gains you access to the clubs fine dining restaurant and use of their showers and heads. If this interests you, please call the dock office to ensure availability. The temporary membership can be purchased upon your arrival.
We offer gas which is delivered by truck on Friday mornings at 11:00 am. Diesel is available on Monday's and Thursday's at 3:00pm. Goulart petroleum accepts cash, check, MasterCard and Visa. They can be reached at (401) 635-4530.

Great stay at Sakonnet Point Marina! Chris was very helpful!
In the summer of Covid 2020 , Dock Master Chris Brady provided an outstanding level of service and support . Sakonnet Point is such an enjoyable spot , Chris and his team worked with the CDP crew to provide an unforgettable " lobster " experience to our guests , we will be talking about all winter . , Thank you , the Gallagher's
Sakonnet Point Marina is a great stopover between Narragansett Bay and Massachusetts ports. Helpful staff, nice docks, and well protected. Use of the club facilities costs extra. The beach is a nice walk. Only issue was being next to the commercial fishing dock that was in use morning and night.
We love this “off the radar” screen location !! And Chris the dockmaster is the most hospitable we’ve experienced this entire summer. Wonderful food at the club and beautiful walking! The best!!
My second stay here. It's beautiful and they're really accommodating.
Great location and top notch service. Chris was super helpful and $25 ‘membership’ to access yacht club showers and restaurant is definitely worth it.
Perfect! Wonderful staff.
The facility is well maintained by a friendly staff. In 50 years of sailing, I’ve never encountered a ($25) charge to use a bathroom. The pool was also mentioned and featured in the pdf of the property, but use of the pool is $100. use of a private beach was mentioned, but when asked about I was referred to the town beach. The relationship between the marina and the club should be well described on the website and all publications. Otherwise, assume the $4 per foot a down payment!
This is a fantastic spot. Great marina and restaurant!
Really enjoyed the location and atmosphere of a smaller marina. Sakonnett Point Club is an added bonus. Good service arriving and with delivery of ice that we requested. Only issue with the stay was the power on the two towers nearest out boat did not work. We had to resort to our gen set.
Staff was amazing. Spent a lot of time with us as newer boaters. Beautiful and serene location. Dinner reservations are recommended or get to the bar by 5:30 pm.
Very friendly and pet friendly
Dock hands were quite good and the slip was in very good condition. However our slip charges did NOT include access to the private adjoining club, which had the only available heads and showers and cost an additional $25 for the crew. Had we opted to enjoy the pool or fitness center the up charge was $100. Dinner in the club however was quite good.
Dock master was a great help on our first visit to this marina. But it should be noted that this is part of a Yacht Club and they do not offer any amenities including access to bathrooms with out an additional charge of $25.00. First marina we have ever encountered this. If they don't want transients to stop there they shouldn't list it.
Our stay at Sakonnet Point Marina was really extremely good. I highly recommend this marina. It is a small, well-run, welcoming marina. The dock staff is great: very friendly; they guided us into the harbor very well and assisted us in docking our sailboat and also departing the dock (sometimes a finicky experience). They went out of their way to be helpful, even providing a ride to nearby Sakonnet Vineyards (although they are not always available for that). We took advantage of the $25 "temporary membership" at the adjoining Sakonnet Yacht Club, which is definitely worth doing; it allows you access to the Club's very clean, modern showers and restroom facilities, as well as allowing you to eat at their fine on-site restaurant---which serves a nice variety of well-prepared-presented food and has great views of the ocean. The harbor is well-protected, quiet and of easy access. There are fish traps and lobster pots near the entry to the harbor, but are easily avoided if you are vigilant. A call to the marina office can provide very helpful details about the approach. Thanks to Chris, Axel, et al for a very pleasant stay.
Quiet protected marina. Chris was very accommodating and helpful when docking. Third trip there and not our last.
Great crew. Good marina and very helpful. Chris brady was terrific. Thanks
Cheerful, proactive staff. Nice facilities.
Awesome stay. Competent, welcoming.
They couldn’t be any nicer. No issues whatsoever
Lovely facilities, extremely clean, super polite and accommodating staff. We just did a 5 day trip from CT to Boston, and this was our favorite spot by far.
Very nice little marina. Great service, easy access, would definitely visit again!
Beautiful and peaceful spot with delightful staff (Chris). The restaurant of the Sakonnet YC nearby is also a very welcoming place. This Marina was our preferred one during our sail from Port Jefferson NY to Hingham MA.
Perfect location; professional, courteous staff! Wonderful amenities!
