A true safe haven for mariners, Safe Harbor Wickford Cove and Safe Harbor Wickford Cove North are nestled in one of the foremost hurricane holes on the eastern seaboard. Affording boaters central access to the marvelous waters of Narragansett Bay, both locations offer convenient dockside amenities combined with the quaint appeal of the picturesque seaside village of Wickford.
Docks are in great shape. Marina is clean and well kept. Heads are spotless. A bit of a walk to town.
Nice marina, quiet. Dock staff was attentive and the marina had all that we needed. Short walk to Wickford Village.
Wickford Cove North is a lovely, quiet, well maintained marina. Lovely walk to Historic Wickford Village through nice neighborhoods. Manager Kim keeps everything ship shape!
The dock staff were wonderful and very helpful. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and functional. It was a wonderful quiet night and a short walk to some great restaurants on the water. We will definitely be returning here.
Great service from getting fuel to assistance with docking (Transient stay), top notch personnel. Great communication via Dockwa and emails, WOW !!! Everything was perfect, great dock, bathrooms and grounds are impeccable, this location is has Superior management.
Excellent. Beautiful and very well maintained marina. Very welcoming and helpful staff (Kim- manager).
Very welcoming marina management and easy access to the peaceful Wickford center.
Great facility, very helpful staff, close access to main part of town. What's not to love?
The Staff was super friendly and accommodating, the facilities were clean. definitely will stay again. thanks!
Great location, great facilities and great service
Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Emily, the dockmaster. The docks and grounds were excellent and the short stroll into Wickford was easy. Wickford is great!!
In general everything was good, except, #1 head at 0700, was filthy with fecal material covering the toilet. The other heads were occupied, so she had to forego her shower. Not necessarily Safe Harbors fault, but their patrons were rather inconsiderate leaving such a mess. We feel bad for the person tasked with cleaning that head☹️. American Flyer
Excellent stay as always! Thank you!
Cleanest heads!! Kim Devlin is on top of everything Nice and quiet at night
Our second time staying at Wickford cove, first time at this location. Very nice facilities and great staff.
We were in the North Marina, not the Cove. The docks were great, staff very helpful, and very peaceful location. Convenient to downtown - we will be back! Also, great fuel prices in the cove.
A small marina in a lovely village of Wickford, 1 mile away. Helpful dock hands and a very clean, well kept marina.because Safe Harbor has Two locations, make sure you understand which one you are going to.
We actually stayed at the NORTH Yard and we loved it. Quiet and Tranquil! Just what we were looking for!! Great Helpful staff (Emily sent directions (which I didn't see till after we docked) and a couple of nice crew came by to see how we were doing! Jake helped with gas at the Cove gas dock following out departure. Short and interesting walk to town! We'll be back (next season). Thanks!
Beautiful and pleasant
Nice place but dock staff could not get power to work in our boat.
Safe Harbor has not disappointed and Wickford Cove is no exception. Staff was on the dock to assist with lines and managed an assignment change on the fly when our assigned slip was occupied. The facility is first rate, the town is sweet… walk or dinghy to fresh seafood. Short walk to ice cream. Seasonal customers are super transient friendly.
July 3rd, 2024 visit.......Absolutely the best!! Staff, facilities and convenience to town couldn't be better. Looking forward to return again soon!!!
Nice Marina. Helpful staff.
The north yard is a hidden gem. Great clean facilities, very nice staff.
Was a wonderful experience. Quiet. Bathrooms were very clean and boating members were very friendly. Close to walk into town.
This is our home port. The grounds have been wonderfully redeveloped. The docks are all good and well maintained. The staff is fantastic. Emily will take good care of you while the managers and technicians are all 1st class.
Safe Harbor Wickford Cove is a hurricane hole. Very pleasant location with many shops and several restaurants within easy walking distance. The marina has a wonderful patio with gas grills, gas fire pits, with comfortable seating and tables for outdoor dining. The marina is crowded and some of the along side slips can be challenging, always radio for dock assistance. The dock hands are eager to assist and very helpful.
Wonderful small marina. Walking distance to Wickford Village. Great protection from storms
Most beautiful harbor town on the Western side of Narragansett Bay. A first rate marina with top self staff. Have always held this place in the highest esteem.
Excellent Marina
Super clean facility. Very competent and friendly staff. Easy walk to Wickford and town beach.
Great marina! The confirmation was very quick and included a slip assignment with an aerial view so docking was quick and easy. The staff is fantastic, very friendly, attentive and helpful and the facilities are top-notch. We will definitely be back!
Fantastic, all around! Great team, facility, location, everything! We'll be back!!
$4.50 a foot is expensive. Typical of Safe Harbor.
Awesome we had a wonderful time loved the shower facilities were on the dock at E-9
Staff was friendly, well protected from prevailing sw winds. Quaint village.
Very clean, easy to get to, well marked, great staff
Great spot. Super protected. Ducked in Cove to avoid gusty SW blow and have comfortable night sleep. Quaint little town with shops and restaurants. Spotless facilities. Excellent showers/head and brand new members’ lounge. Emily who responded to my Dockwa request was outstanding. By far, the best communication of any marina staff. Clear, concise, and prompt response made itinerary planning helpful. Since was my first time navigating marina I request slip assignment in advance of arrival. Emily went above and beyond by providing an aerial image identifying the specific slip which made coming in and docking a breeze. Looking forward to staying again.
Beautiful facilities. The bathrooms at the north marina are new and pristine. Amy and Emily are super helpful. Very quiet and protected. Highly recommended.
Emily was great at And guiding us in and welcoming our crew to Wickford Cove marina.
Wow, what a little gem! We were blown away. Friendly, clean. Emily was awesome a joy to deal with. A quiet little retreat. Just what we were looking for. Wickford Village is a quaint and inviting downtown and is just a short walk from the marina. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
Safe Harbor Wickford is one of our favorite local sailing destinations. The marina has nice facilities and very friendly staff. The arrival bag with marina and local information is a nice touch. The town is an easy walk and has interesting shops, restaurants and convenience items. Fellow boaters that call Wickford home were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will certainly return.
Great marina, staff and facilities. Located in a gem of a harbor
Very accommodating and responsive. Friendly, clean and close to town. Wrapped fishing line around the prop, probably in the harbor on the way in. They were able to accommodate an emergency haul out so we could remove the line and save the last week of our vacation, and our saildrive!
Friendly accommodating staff before, during and leaving visit. Clean comfortable bathrooms/showers. Well maintained docks.
Safe Harbor Wickford Cove is a hidden gem. An impending storm led us to seek out a well-protected marina in the Safe Harbor network. Wickford Cove is incredibly well protected. In addition it is a very friendly, well maintained marina in a very cute town. We were pleasantly surprised with the nice Main Street, historic homes, and interesting shopping. The marina has the nicest bathroom and shower facilities we’ve seen. Only negative was no one responding on the radio when we arrived on a Sunday early afternoon. But we had been sent a photo of our slip and we’re able to get in on our own without difficulty. Although a ways up the Bay, this town and marina are well winery a visit.
Great people, beautiful brand new docks, accommodating power supply and a nice town
Friendly and helpful (Emily was terrific. Organized, Clean. Best bathroom/shower facilities of our trip! Short walk to quaint village with shops and restaurants. Fuel dock and ice. What more can you ask for.
Emily was very helpful with both my reservation and at the fuel dock. Sophia did an excellent job with my lines - important because I was sailing solo. The facility was immaculate. Showers were far superior to most other facilities. Wickford is a quaint little town.
Very happy with my 2 night stay. Everyone was very friendly and staff were very helpful. Would highly recommend staying here. Docks are we’ll maintained. Fuel dock available. Had to launch up the road but Uber was inexpensive and made it very easy. Bathrooms/showers were clean. Great location for enjoying some time in the bay!
Just stayed here last weekend and I can't say enough good things. Great marina, great location and the staff is fantastic. Meghan was super helpful and accommodating when we were there. The Dockmaster (don't know his name) was also super helpful and responsive when we were setting up our visit. We'll be back for sure.
Very nice. Quiet. Anders and the staff were very helpful.
Great marina, great town! We prefer peaceful, quiet settings, and Safe Harbor Wickford Cove hit the target perfectly. While we don’t use the bathroom facilities, these looked to be spotless and really well equipped. Great location close to town as well. Overall great experience. We’ll be back!
We stayed here 2 nights. NOT at Safe Harbor Wickford Cove Marina but at the marina formerly called Wickford Marina, acquired by Safe Harbor in the last year or two and now called something like Safe Harbor Wickford North. At this point, Safe Harbor runs the two marinas as a single facility with integrated bookings. It is unclear to us whether Safe Harbor will do so in the future or will treat Wickford North as a separate marina. We requested a stern-in, stbd-side tie because we launch our dinghy to port & board from floating docks to stbd via the swim platform. We thought they had committed to meet our request, but upon arrival, they gave us a bow-in, stbd-side tie; it worked, but only because the finger pier was just long enough (our LOA=50ft) to reach our swim platform with the anchor pulpit hanging over floating pier; we don't know if they planned this or we just lucked out. We were told that Safe Harbor plans substantial upgrades, and this marina needs them. Bathrooms were clean but aged. (We didn't try the showers.) The laundry equipment was rusty. The 50A receptacle on the pedestal at our slip worked but was held in place by only one of its two screws. (The dockmaster Anders promptly called electricians to fix it, but the repair wasn't expected to be before our departure.) The staff was cheerful and willing, but will benefit from more experience in belaying dock lines. We were told that Safe Harbors plans to upgrade floating docks and pedestals winter of 2021-2022. We hope they also redo the shore-side facilities and maybe throw in a bit more training for junior staff. The dock configuration makes for a long, roundabout walk from some slips to office (ashore), but not as far as some marinas. Around the dock office there are some patio spaces that could be very pleasant. The view from there takes in picturesque salt marshes and boats in the docks and and on moorings. Wickford is a cute town with numerous, preserved colonial-era houses, pretty gardens (in early August, anyway) and a couple of pleasant water-front restaurants. Definitely a pleasant stop. It is a 3/4-mile walk from Wickford North to the center of town. There is a public floating dock for small boats within a couple of hundred yards of town center, about 0.9NM from the marina by water. To NW of public dock, just across the adjacent parking lot, is a Walgreen's; besides pharmacy goods, it sells some provisions like dry groceries, cases of water, etc. The nearest real grocery store is Dave's Fresh Marketplace, about 0.8 miles W of Walgreen's. We know from other Safe Harbor marinas that Safe Harbor generally runs its facilities in a first rate way. We expect that they will eventually bring Wickford North up to their usual standard. We suppose that Wickford Cove, which had no slips available during our stay, is in better condition and that this is why there was a slip available for us Wickford North but not at Wickford Cove. We expect that by summer 2022, Wickford North will rate 4 or 5 stars.
Super protected marina in a quiet cove with great views of houses on the water. Short walk to SMALL downtown but totally worth the experience. Anders the DM worked to get us in before Tropical storm Elsa hit and while storm was no big deal it was a great sense of satisfaction to be securely tied up. Floating dock we were on has dark polymer material deck that is VERY HOT on bare feet in the sun so be careful and wear shoes! LOVED how quiet this town was and we ended up hearing after not getting into Newport. Skip Newport, a much nicer small town experience with way less hassle if you come here!
Very helpful. Very clean. Very nice floating docks. 1/2 mile walk into very quaint town with very good restaurants. Also, wal mart and door dash delivery to marina was convenient.
Great marina, dock hands very helpful, we’ll definitely be back!
Marina is absolutely perfect location, well managed and peaceful
Meghan was great! They were on the dock to help us in
Our second stay here in Wickford. The marina is clean and friendly. Good floating docks and a nice walk to a nice downtown. It's so safe and quaint here with good food and fine shopping boutiques. We will definitely return when in the area.
THIS is a VERY well run marina. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and admired by many others. The rest rooms / showers were extremely clean and checked (and cleaned again) every 2 - 3 hours. The gardener / flower lady takes pride in her work and it shows! Beautiful harbor and, (hate to admit), worth the money . Well done Safe Harbor Wickford!
Great stay very friendly group. Quiet at night very clean restrooms and showers. Cannot wait to come back again
Great stay the staff is very helpful and we love the location. If you enjoy kayaking make sure to bring then!
My wife and I had the privilege of staying there for only a couple of nights.....the bathrooms are the best on the east coast....the staff were friendly and they gave us the best slip we have ever gotten anywhere...the town is still trying to cope with the virus ....not everything is open and the restaurants are not all open
Safe Harbor Wickford is a nice, clean and quiet marina within walking distance of the quaint town of Wickford. Had a great stay for several nights. Would definitely visit again!
Nice floating composite docks, easily accessible fuel dock, walking distance to town/shops/cafes, well-protected, and nice showers/bathrooms. Accommodating staff too.
Very helpful dockhands and excellent showers
The marina is beautiful and the service is first class. A special treat is to dinghy up the cove to the town dock and wander ashore, dine, etc.
Clean, quiet, and convenient. Friendly and helpful staff too. How much more could you ask for?
Facility is ok, but the staff was not very helpful giving directions to slip, and were not very pleasant. Especially the General Manager...not very friendly. Doubt I would stay there again. Completely different experience at Newport Yachting Center - that would be my choice next visit.
Slip was great. Windy arrival and dock staff was the best. Megan helped us tie in and Sophia did a great job when we left. Highly recommend!
Very nice marina and nice facilities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was some confusion about the pile mooring we were supposed to go on. The first one we were sent to was occupied and the second one didn't have mooring lines installed. The staff did go out in the skiff to put our lines on (it is not something that is easily or safely done from a 42ft sailboat) but it all took quite a while. I would recommend for the marina to put mooring lines on all the piles. ** UPDATE ** (after staying at the marina a second time): Very similar situation. This time there was a dingy parked in the pile mooring spot that we were assigned! We had to request a different spot again. The up-side is that this time the second spot had mooring lines and we again enjoyed out stay. It's a lovely place.
Called prior to arrival and was met at dock that helped me secure my boat they were friendly and very helpful would return again.
Very helpful and courteous staff! Needed work on one of our engines. Service tech's were great. Fixed the problem professionally and in a timely manner. The facilities are also great. Definitely will return!!!
Megan at the dock was great. Thank you.
Competent Pleasant Helpful Great facility
My favorite marina on Narragansett Bay. Helpful staff, clean bathrooms, pumpout station, gas and diesel and a beautiful harbor.
Friendly staff, nice onshore facilities.
Great Service... Met at the docks upon arrival by professional staff. Short walk to town with shops and restaurants. Clean and well kept facilities. Likely to return for another visit.
Very friendly staff. We look forward to visiting again next season.
A super place - great folks and just a short walk to everything else you need. Glad to be back in BWC after a few years. Thanks Larry!
Excellent....helpful dock hands and pleasant staff upon registration. Dock was easy to access and marina in general was friendly and kept very clean.
The staff was very friendly, the facility was well maintained. I could tell they really cared by how well they maintained the rest rooms - great job!
