Gloucester is among our favorite destination cities either for a short trip or as a stopover recovery from a long one. Mooring rental prices are excellent which includes a launch service running until 2200L-very useful.
This is a fabulous place. Staff is super helpful and pleasant. The weather crushed our plans for cruising further east and needed to stay an additional night and are happy we did. The staff even offered to work with us and find a new spot if we needed to stay a 3rd night. The location is very convenient if you wish to walk into town and explore. If you plan dinner, we can recommend DiMillos’s On The Water aboard the former ferry boat. Food is excellent and makes for a unique experience.
This is a great spot and BPYC has always been very helpful. As a others have mentioned, the weather can negatively impact the mooring field if winds are NE. We experienced exactly that during the 4th of July weekend of 2021 when winds from the NE started increasing at around 0200 with eventual gusts to 30-which was higher than forecast. Conditions in the mooring field were very bad. Not respecting the forecast was our error, but if you avoid a NE wind pattern, we can highly recommend a stop.
Great facility and staff. As Rockland harbor can get a little stirred up with easterly winds, the breakwater provides welcome protection.
Well protected location with good facilities, helpful staff and a well supplied store.
Bristol is our go to for moorings in Boothbay. Very friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend them for a stay.
