The website is much nicer than the marina. They changed our docking instructions literally as we approached the pier. The restaurant is closed. The docking help was not great, and the marina is much more shallow than they said (we grounded - though as they say “it is really soft silt”).
The team at Safe Harbor Islamorada is the best! We called to see if they could fit us in on short notice and they quickly made it happen. They went out of their way to help us get in safely and securely (we were having an engine issue), and did it all with a friendly and professional attitude. They even helped us find the best local help to deal with our issues. Welcoming as they can possibly be, and the marina has great protection from any wind. The restaurant on site is also excellent.
A very mixed bag. The pluses: very friendly and professional dock crew, nice ship’s store, pool is great, and (I am told) the restaurant is good. The negatives: the power at the pedestal is very low (211V vs expected 240V) which is not good for your air conditioning system. Also, the location is wide open to a southeast breeze which picks up as a sea breeze quite often. It gets really choppy in the marina really fast. Calms down if/when the wind calms down or changes direction.
Really protected marina. Very friendly staff and the price is very reasonable. The facilities are in repair with the team working very hard and the improved piers and facilities looking very nice. Right now they are not ready unfortunately, so couldn’t give 5 stars, yet.
As always they did a great job getting us in and they are always friendly and positive. Great place, great people!
The team here is very nice, but they have nowhere near 8’ of water at low tide. Despite discussing it with them in advance we ran our 5.5’ draft boat aground long before we reached the pier. They were nice in helping us find a backup marina, but they should know their depth and tell people when they cannot accommodate someone.
Donavon and the team are excellent, the location is convenient, and the fuel dock is easy in and out and well equipped (not common in the Bahamas). However, Sandals is clearly not giving them the resources it takes to keep a marina going. It is a shame to see.
BRunswick Landing Marina is fantastic. Fuel dock is easy to use, staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and there are very thoughtful extras (complimentary laundry and bikes) that make your visit great. Downtown Brunswick is a short walk and has excellent restaurants and parks.
Great crew at the marina. They can have a lot of current going by, and they always get you on and off the dock safely, and with a smile. Piers in great shape and two restaurants on site. Short walk to a rental car place also if you need one.
They are really working on this place! Docks and facilities are in great shape. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is very convenient, but enough off the beaten path to be quiet (for Annapolis). Tucked in and very calm waters. Very much recommend this marina.
The dock master sent us to a slip that was WAY too narrow for our hull (we sent our accurate info via Dockwa). The dock help was great and we squeezed in, though the cleat layout made tying up challenging. The WiFi is not protected and worthless (is free but useless WiFi really acceptable?). The showers are not hygienic. The restaurants are mostly not open Monday and Tuesday (nothing else in area). A number of the water hose fittings did not work also. Really poorly run. The local crew is great, but leadership is running this place very poorly. Avoid if you can.
They sent a launch out to help us to find our mooring. The water taxi was quick and friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. We asked for advice on transitting Hell Gate and they found a cruising group we could join for the transit. Outstanding!
Moorings were easy to find and well placed. Not all have pendants. Launch was timely and very polite. Price is very reasonable.
