Brunswick Landing Marina is located in the heart of downtown Brunswick, Georgia. Just steps away are shops and restaurants that offer marina customers an exclusive 10% discount off their meals. The marina has a very active liveaboard community attracted by the never ending daily social activities, free laundry, free beer (yes, free beer), and free water on all the docks. Ample parking is available at the head of each dock which makes provisioning and unloading a breeze. Customers have started to call this marina the "Velcro Marina" because once you come, you never want to leave.
This is a great marina. Lotsa liveaboards with a lotta local knowledge. Restrooms/showers are clean and in great shape. And they have a great happy hour MWF. We will definitely be back.
Very nice facility, but the best part was Reid’s Apothecary Restaurant within view of the marina. Absolutely the best Shrimp & Grits ever!!! It’s also a great bar with knowledgeable bartenders who have a lot of hard to find bourbons & other amazing things to work with. The Chocolate infused Old Fashion was worth the 2,000 dollars of Diesel it took to get there from Stuart, Florida.
High winds but experienced dock attendants made me look good. The marina is clean, washer and dryers efficient. I liked this marina and the proximity to town.
My Cape Dory 36 recently was delivered by truck from Maine to the Brunswick Landing Boatyard. I'm a first time boat owner, so the process seemed daunting to say the least. The team at the Boatyard were highly professional and guided me through the boat delivery by truck, requirements for mast re-stepping, and launch. It all went very smoothly, and I could see I was in good hands at each step of the way. I would recommend Brunswick Landing Boatyard to anyone requiring similar services.
Great staff, docks,Landry,Lounge and restrooms was worth the 45 minutes off the ICW.
Friendly staff. Lots of great amenities. Enjoyed the marina sponsored happy hour. Nice town with several great restaurants! Wish we had reserved a longer visit.
I hate writing negative reviews and I really wanted this marina to be cool, but I have to say our stay left one of the worst tastes in my mouth in our entire cruising experience thus far. The gruffness of the staff is just beyond acceptable. I am generally pretty cool with all kinds of styles, but the staff here seemed to choose aggressiveness as their preferred style. We apparently stayed beyond their checkout time, due mostly to me trying to help fellow cruiser with a dangerous task of working on their mast. A very agro staff member banged on our boat and started threatening us to leave or pay another day. Obviously we hightailed it out of that dump and landed in a peaceful anchorage near Jekkyl island. Incidentally the marina is sub standard and really not in a nice area. The view is essentially a factory with smokestacks billowing God knows what out of them. I like Brunswick, which is an up and coming area obviously clawing it's way out of hard times and there is a lot of promise as a cruising destination. However the general vibe and staff approach at the marina is not something I would recommend. It's smoke and mirrors and over priced. Avoid.
Good protection and easy in and out, but like another reviewer said keep a weather eye out for the crab trap buoys. Docks are decent, can't speak to the boatyard side of things, people and staff otherwise were generally friendly. Facilities were underwhelming. Good walk to the downtown area, which is old and makes it look like Brunswick was once a much busier and larger town. A good place to pull in to if bad weather is forecast, otherwise we pass it by.
Marina is fine if you are close to a shower. Do not use the shipyard for repairs. The workers were inexperienced and took way longer than normal to handle repairs at significant cost. The work was inferior.....I had to redo/correct much of it. While the boat was in the shipyard, we were charged daily marina costs for a slip. Any work that was sent out (e.g. shaft repair) was marked up 30% plus an hour labor to take it and an our labor to retrieve it. These people are "crooks". There is no nice way to describe it.
Brunswick Landing Marina is great. We stayed one more day. Facilities are clean, well taken care of. The people re happy and helpful.
My son & I were on a trip from Tampa to Baltimore & ran over an unmarked crabpot. Tore the Starboard strut trough the hull. The boatyard got us out of the water and on stands, cleaned and fixed the boat and got us back on our way in 6 days. Fast and solid repair.
Great marina and staff can't wait to return.
repair work at the yard, can be costly. They don't have highly trained people and no tools. They do, however, keep the clock running while they beat on stuff and talk on the cell phones. We will never use them again.
Fees are OK and docks appear to be well maintained. Facilities are well below standard. The "lounge" is a joke and should be called a closet. It has one washer and one dryer which look like they should have been replaced several years ago. The coast guard has a slip there. The coast guard employees are skate boarding all through the parking lot and down the dock. There is a sign which says no skate boarding but the harbor master says she is afraid to say anything. The "Old downtown" is a joke. Fine dining is subway and you can stroll past all the closed shops. The harbor master told us be sure to stay out of half the town because it is unsage and drew a huge X through it. A grocery is only a couple of miles away. We were told we would have to park our truck about two miles away in a public parking lot since it had a lance camper on it. This is not a marina for someone seeking a nice live aboard atmosphere. It may be a fair place to store a boat but the quality of life would be awful.
An excellent Marina. Monthly fees are "cheap". New floating docks. Well protected. No problems with wind and tide. Security is ever present- no need to worry about your boat shopuld you need to leave it. Staff is competent and attentive. Each pier ( @ 15 piers ) has a gazebo like structure for socializing, parking bicycles, and picknicking. This area also has a gas grill. Lounge is excellent, weekly get togethers ( bring a dish plus BYOB ). Great way to meet you neighbors. Bath and laundry facilities are excellent - free washers and dryers ( new and numerous. Close to town - 4th of May Cafe is excellent - you've got to try their tomato pie. If you need a place to relax and recoup - this is it.
