We stayed on a mooring right in front of the marina. All was as expected. Wifi reached the boat. Staff were more than helpful. Very quite harbor. Nice town to walk around. Park had live music one night. All good.
On the plus side, it is centrally located, the docks were good and they had reasonable wifi. Pretty much everything else was a minus: dock hands who could generously be described as useless, horrible bath rooms/showers, no marina information, no one seemed to care much.
Stayed at the dock this time so I got to use the restrooms and showers which were functional - that is the best I can say. Also even in middle October they have a 50 foot minimum - not exactly boater friendly. But as always the staff were very cordial in implementing the town policies.
Very expensive and not really worth it IMHO. Better to stay on a mourning if you can. Service is ok. Ridiculous price for electric as well ($50 a day I think for 50a). Bathrooms and showers ok but not great. Generally early/late in season pricing becomes reasonable - recommend staying then - less crowded on island overall too. Great location. Helpful staff.
Would be helpful if the dock staff had some way of identifying themselves (e.g. shirt, hat, etc.). Then you would know who was dock staff vs just some guy hanging around which is what they look like. Facilities are ok. Showers excellent. Service mediocre (at best) - kind of feel like you are bothering them just to pay for a bag of ice. Mahagony shoals bar is fun.
