Moorings are a bit challenging here as you have to pass a line through an eye on a post sticking up from the mooring ball. I initially passed a line from one bow cleat to the other, but it fouled my anchor roller since my freeboard was about the same height as the post. It worked better to come back to the same cleat, although this left the boat a little cockeyed to the strong wind that persisted that night. Excellent lobster roll ashore! We also enjoyed the harbor raw bar, but we prefer the oysters from our home waters in Maine.
Great place to pick up a mooring, calm protected harbor, moorings are tightly spaced but ample room and well maintained, enjoy fresh oysters, scallops, clams and chowder delivered right to your boat. The freshest lobster from Captain John Adams, harvested and prepared for us the same day. Beautiful scenery, trails and beaches.
Have not anchored here but have utilized the moorings on a few occasions. Extremely well protected with easy to grab "stick" type mooring balls. Easy access dinghy dock. Highly recommend this mooring field as well as the island gem itself.
