That should be zero stars, not one. I ended up here because the engine on my sailboat wouldn't start during a passage from New London to St. Augustine and eventually I found myself drifting in the NY shipping lanes under sail, with very light winds and low maneuverability. Seatow was unavailable for a tow in New Jersey or New York, so the USCG contacted the NY police department to tow my boat into a safe harbor -- and here I am. This place is a total ripoff. Filthy docks in disrepair, no working toilets or showers. The staff told me I had to pay for five days even if I only stayed for one. I needed a diesel mechanic and they told me that I was on my own for finding one. When I said I might leave on a Saturday they told me that I had to pay for three days: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, because their office was closed over the weekend. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Hello to all boaters in 2023 I have been a boater since 1984 i’ve been in Moonbeam Gateway Marina for the past seven years since there’s no people had taken over for the past three years, they are so in responsible to work with I had a boat there for the pass certain years and I never had any issue on the year of 2020 to October 6. They sent me a text that my boat was in distress with a picture when I got there. My vote was already 6 feet under. My boat was only 2 1/2 years old. These people are always doing stuff that is not right they don’t have the license to do bottom painting, they take your money they tell you they will put you down in the water at this date you choose then they have an issue with their license of the crane who is when my boat was under the water they were charging me $12 a foot to bring it out then when I went into the office 10 minutes later, they were charging me $16 a foot mine insurance carrier called the Coast Guard and they brought it up out of the water with the diapers and they charge me $5000 that was fine after that when I had a transporter picking up my boat from the marina they told him they couldn’t release it till I paid a bill of $3600 which they call a emergency hall which the Coast Guard took care of it already which Mike, the manager from the office gave my transporter a hard time when they spoke to me I paid it would be American Express and after that I reverse the charges these people are dishonest and liars. They do not have a mechanic which they have let go from the yard. The mechanic have been there for over 35 years. if you guys decide to be there for the season, paying with credit card, never pay cash they are disgusting to work with. I will put pictures in a video of the boat when he was under the water. They also said that the videos camera wasn’t working. if you do rent from them, check the cameras, check everything the electric the water too much is going on there plus check the license to be.sure they are active they only text me when my neighbor told them that my boat sank. from Nelson.

Overpriced, worn out docks, no bathrooms or showers, porta-pottys only. No one monitoring the radio, no one answering phones, attempted to enforce a three day minimum.

This marina is one of the best! The General Manager Serge really helped us out with an on going power issue and made everything come together to where there is no current issue anymore. I highly recommend this marina! The staff and managers were nothing short of helpful. If you want prime location, great slips, and awesome customer service don’t miss your opportunity to stay here at moonbeam gateway marina!

Docks were fine but not really a destination. Bathrooms and showers are ‘portable “ Not much going on but cab rides to good restaurants or beaches. Place needs some planning and vision to be a transient destination. Maybe in a few years they will have it all cleaned up.

We ducked into this marina after an overnight sail when we got caught in terrible weather off NYC. We needed a place to sleep, take showers and make some repairs. Previous reviews led us to believe we would find all of that here. However. bathrooms and showers were in old, dilapidated sheds a very, very long walk from where we were tied up (and it was raining). The listing mentioned golf carts were available but only the staff seemed to use them. Rain water was dripping into the mildew covered shower stall from a leaky roof and there was no shower curtain. The wood floor was covered with dirt. paint and what looked like bird droppings. Needless to say I didn't take a shower. Bathroom doors were propped open with a large rock and women's room stall doors didn't latch. Overall not clean, secure or inviting at all. Wifi signal was weak. Electrical service was also a problem - had to be moved twice before we were in a slip where the power didn't keep shorting out. Staff did move us as we requested which was a plus given that it was dark, cold and raining. When I asked about the lack of facilities the response was "we just bought the place but there are places nearby." Not helpful and no excuse for not cleaning up the existing facilities. New docks, a feature touted on the listing, are great if you keep your boat here all time and don't care about anything else but clean and working amenities are what transient sailors are looking for. For what they offer, not worth the $4.50/ft price and not recommended at this time.

My husband and I were traveling home on 9/9 and encountered horrific weather on the Ocean. 12’ waves, constant and brutal. We made our way into the cove where found this gem of a marina. The people were amazing, took us right in, helped us with a food delivery, they were incredible. We highly recommend this marina. Thank you so much for all of your help!!
