The location of the marina is perfect (on Pistakee Lake next to Famous Freddies) , offering easy access to the beautiful Chain O'Lakes while still being a peaceful retreat. It’s a family-friendly environment that’s both relaxing and fun. Pistakee Marina isn’t just a place to dock your boat; it’s a place to create lasting memories. That guy must’ve been a sea captain in a past life because he runs this place like the captain of a luxury yacht (minus the snobby dress code). First off, the slips are so well-maintained, I’m half convinced they’re dusted daily by magical marina fairies. The outdoor storage? Chef’s kiss. It’s like valet parking but for boats—because why should cars have all the fun? And then there’s Frank. The man, the myth, the legend. Need help docking? Frank’s there. Can’t figure out why your boat is making that weird noise? Frank probably knows. Need life advice? Pretty sure Frank’s got that covered too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could fix a bad hair day while changing your boat battery. The Chain O’Lakes vibe here is pure relaxation. My kids think this is Disney for boats. My spouse thinks it’s our second honeymoon spot. And me? I just think Frank deserves his own sitcom because this place wouldn’t be the same without his charm and knack for making every boater feel like family. Pistakee Marina in Fox Lake, Illinois, is hands-down the best marina I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting! From the moment you pull in, you can tell this place is special. The facilities are top-notch, with well-maintained slips, ample outdoor storage, and a spotless marina that shows pride in every detail. But what really sets Pistakee Marina apart is Frank Lamark. Frank is a true gem—his dedication to his customers is unmatched. He goes above and beyond to make sure every boater feels welcome and cared for. Whether it’s answering questions, helping with your boat, or just stopping by for a friendly chat, Frank makes the marina feel like home. The family-friendly atmosphere is the cherry on top. My kids love spending time here, whether it's fishing off the dock or simply enjoying the gorgeous views of the Chain O'Lakes. It’s a place where memories are made, and the boating season here is nothing short of magical. If you’re looking for a marina that combines fantastic amenities, stunning scenery, and a personal touch, Pistakee Marina is the place to be. I rented a slip for the 2024 season. I left in July and went to a local marina as I could no longer accept the lack of management of the marina. The porta potty was disgusting every single day. 4th of July weekend, you couldn’t even walk by the porta potty it was so gross. Feces overflowing. Lack of light. I could not see where my slip was coming in after sundown. So unsafe. My key didn’t work for the first 3weeks of the season. I had to climb around the gate, almost falling in the water. AND, a 24 foot boat was put in the slip next to me for a month, I had a very difficult time getting in and out of my slip. Complaints to Frank fell on deaf ears. This caused several phone calls until he took action. I will not and do not recommend Pistakee Marina to ANYONE.

Super quiet marina! Perfect location next door to famous freddies with great food and bands. The marina has a great firepit and grilling area and all the slip neighbors are super friendly

The location is great. Boaters who go there are wonderful too. Several of upgrades that were promised have not been made. Additionally, the piers were moved closer together, making for narrow slips.
