Approach

While only 3 miles to downtown Rock Hall by car, Grays Inn Creek Marina is just 2 short miles from the Chester River by boat, and it is the closest Rock Hall marina To Kent Narrows. As the satellite and chart imagery show, this part of Rock Hall is largely undeveloped with plenty of private and secluded coves. Our wooded shorelines are the perfect nesting habitat for Bald Eagles—in fact, nesting pairs can be viewed right from our docks. These creeks are locally known for their abundance of "heavy" Blue Crabs and excellent fishing.

This marina was a great find! Valerie, the owner was a pleasure to deal with. The marina was immaculately kept both in Marina facilities, and the grounds. If you are looking for a great quiet off the beaten path get away, this is the place you want to be. Also, there is a private shuttle service that runs from Tuesday to Sunday to take you into the center of Rock Hall to take advantage of the restaurants, shops, and nightlife.

Marina Response:
Customers like you make the effort worth it, thank you Paul!

Beautiful place to unwind and relax. We enjoyed the calm waters and nature at it’s finest. We saw the bald eagles several times along with osprey and other waterfowl. Our hosts were attentive and friendly, answering all our questions in a timely manner. The bath house / laundry was clean and comfortably cool. We will definitely visit this hidden gem again!

Marina Response:
Thank you so much for the kind words David, hope to see you again soon!!!

Fantastic stay, secluded marina, transient slips are on the pier T end, all amenities are in excellent shape, 50A power, good water pressure, clean bathroom/shower. The setting is gorgeous, almost feels like anchoring out.

Marina Response:
Thank you for the review! Great having you and your family for the weekend.

We arrived in Early October 2021, and anchored in Grays Inn Creek. Took our dingy in looking for a place to go ashore. There was a gentleman whose boat was in Grays Inn Creek marina who said we could dock there. Another couple arrived shortly after stating the same thing. As we spent some time, the gentleman offered some help with our dingy engine and the couple stated we could use the facilities as their guests and offered up the code to the facilities. We were very impressed with how nice everyone was and accepted the offer. The next day, one of the owners Valerie came out and said we were not welcome at the dingy dock, did I mention their were no signs stating that sailors not staying at the Marina were not welcome at the dingy dock?! We told her upfront what we had been told by marina members, she said ok. Later that day when we dingy’d in she again in a harsher tone said we were not welcome and said we had not been truthful with her…..which we had. She went on to state sailors always come in and take advantage of their marina, bringing their dogs in to walk, etc and we all are not welcome ( guess they don’t like dogs either!!). I am a Naval Academy Graduate, a war veteran and have sailed around the world with my wife and have never been treated so poorly by a Marina. The people in Grays Creek are great, the businesses in Rock Hall are amazing and we loved Chester River Seafood . The Grays Inn Creek Marina is NOT a Marina for sailors…..steer clear, use the municipal pier, it is just as good as the marinas and you will not have to put up with their hassle!! This is my first negative Facebook review in 10 years….

Marina Response:
Hello Emory, I noticed you are the only reviewer whom is not listed as “verified”. In any case, you are correct sir, boaters who choose to anchor out and not rent a slip for the evening are not permitted to use our facilities. This is standard practice for marinas for insurance liability reasons among others. We had availability and our transient rates are the lowest on the bay. We run a small private marina that we attend to and clean ourselves. We take great pride in keeping the facility and grounds spotless and well stocked for our slip holders and transient slip renters. You tied up to our dock, used two bathrooms , two showers, did your laundry and then left a negative review after being politely asked to use the county pier right next door. What you are doing is the equivalent of staying in a tent across the street from a hotel and expecting the hotel to let you use all of their facilities. Hotels do not have signs that say keep out if you are staying in a tent-it goes without saying.

Second stay. Yay! Bill was very helpful. Wish they had some cleats out on our beloved T dock. Watching the bald eagles and the ospreys wrastle in mid air was wild.

Nice owners, new docks, spotless bathrooms/showers, nice picnic area and fire pit. Val helped us tie up and Bill checked in on us later and again in the morning. Initial WiFi issue was quickly fixed. Bikes to go into Rock Hall would be nice. We were here with our sailing club and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nice little marina tucked away. Wonderful owners - very accommodating and the really great thing - very responsive! Used Dockwa to secure reservation and heard back almost immediately! Great place for transients who want some peace & quiet with beautiful scenery and really nice amenities. Quick Uber or Lyft ride into rock hall.
