So many improvements since our last visit… upgrades to grounds/landscaping, new outdoor furniture & grills, spot repairs to worn decks and docks, and new (better) restaurant management/food. Nice going Safe Harbor!
Beautiful docks; not quite so beautiful bathrooms (which are inconveniently distant from the docks). This is a great location immediately adjacent to downtown Greenport with easy access to shopping, restaurants, etc. Self service pumpout is a nice convenience, too. After many years of transient stays at other Greenport marinas, this was our first stay at Mitchell Park… we’ll absolutely return.
We come here regularly because it’s such a welcoming and well run marina - well staffed with energetic dock hands, beautifully maintained with nice amenities. Great place to relax.
First class facility with beautiful views across the Hudson of lower Manhattan. Also great amenities (lounge, bathrooms, restaurants, marine store, transportation) as well as PWC rentals and, get this, a hot tub tour of the city.
One of the prettiest, best maintained marinas we’ve visited on the Sound. Great pool too. The on-site restaurant is closed on Mondays/Tuesdays but decent restaurants are within easy walking distance - some are also closed Mondays/Tuesdays, so use the great picnic areas to barbecue and/or to enjoy your prepared meals.
If you like quiet after a busy weekend in Newport or Provincetown, you’ll love it here. Looks like space is limited for transients and the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Proximity to scenic views on both shores and quiet walks around the point.
PTown is terrific… people-watching, dining, shopping, arts, beaches are all super. “Piddly” criticism: it’s a long walk from the docks before finding any grass for the pups.
We had a very nice stay to visit friends but the kicker was how helpful Dave and Nathan were in repairing our generator from its “won’t start” condition. It was a tricky diagnostic problem involving a short circuit but they persisted and had it repaired the same day. Nice going guys.
… Very pleasant stay on the main town square. Recommend Olympia Tea Room Restaurant steps away from the dock.
We had a wonderful stay; the marina is only steps away from town. Dock staff was very helpful and the marina grounds, although limited in size, are beautifully maintained. The only downside is that an update to the docks themselves is needed - they are at their “end of life”
A quiet transient location, accessible to town. (long walk or short bike ride). Like most Safe Harbor marinas, a helpful dock staff is just a VHF call away.
The marina is first rate and we love visiting the town of Old Saybrook. We had excellent meals at the hotel restaurant and the live band (The Cartells) on Monday night was fantastic. But the night-time water condition at the docks was rocky both nights of our stay despite great weather (barely any wind)… not the marina’s fault but our 5-star stay was dropped a notch by Mother Nature.
One of our favorite stops on the LI Sound. Beautifully maintained, great amenities. Helpful staff (many thanks to Blair for his consult regarding a minor plumbing issue) . Hourly shuttle into Greenport (lovely town). Waterfront restaurant, “Porto Bello”, on site… I had one of my best-ever Bouillabaisses. Tyler was our ‘man on the dock’ this visit - a terrific young man; lots of fun to talk with. Tough reservation this year - very few empty slips, so plan in advance!
