The Provincetown Marina is top-shelf. The entire staff is courteous and helpful, always there to get your lines or address any issues. The facility has huge, new concrete docks & wide ramps. The fire pit and outdoor TV lounge area is awesome. Bathrooms are clean with separate showers. Laundry on site. Bike racks are on site in two locations. Launch service usually readily available and runs late. Security is good with key fobs necessary to enter all gates. Best part is there are endless fun things to do in and around Provincetown. Bikes are a good idea if you need to get to the supermarket or want to explore Provincetown. This is our longtime favorite go-to.
We always enjoy staying at Wentworth. The staff is reachable and courteous. The docks are well maintained and the landscaping is amazing. Usually dockage is readily available. Note: the hotel is now charging marina guests to use the pool. Not the fault of the marina. We did find a lovely (free) beach to dinghy to just across the bay at the Odiorne Point State Park. Great breakfast at Green Bean's!
We had a great time at Pickering Wharf in Salem! Mike the dockmaster was friendly and helpful and was waiting to grab our lines and show us to our slip. We enjoyed great people-watching and a fabulous meal at nearby Sea Level, where we could sit at the bar and look out at our boat. Security was good with gate codes. There is a lot to see and do in Salem and it's perfect for a weekend getaway. We will definitely go there again.
This hidden gem of a boatyard is tucked away in the back of Sippican Harbor. It's a no-frills operation and a working boatyard; but we found this to our liking. The service was friendly and prompt. It's a reasonable walk to the general store in downtown. The price of dockage was very reasonable and we were able to get in with relatively short notice. We would come back again.
We enjoyed another great stay at Cuttyhunk Marina. News flash: they have internet now, just ask for the password. Cell service is still a bit sketchy. But at least you can get online. Enjoyed the usual friendly and helpful service from dock master George, Peggy and Angus. Fishing club open (2021)! Soprano's closed mid-August again but we had raw bar, steamers and lobster. The island is serene and beautiful. Best fun is sitting on the beach at the harbor entrance and watching the 'boat parade' and swimming. We look forward to it every year.
We loved everything about South Wharf. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The marina is clean, quiet and in a beautiful location. Restrooms are deluxe, with laundry in the building. We had fun exploring the bay and harbor in our dinghy, and riding our bikes around town which is a scenic area. I should have noted that there are no restaurants open on Monday and Tuesday. The on-site restaurant closed during Covid but is supposed to re-open fall 2021. You can get great food to go at Farm & Coast market nearby, though. We will be back.
This year we couldn't get a slip so we took an outside mooring just for one night. Word to the wise: there is not a no-wake zone on the way into this harbor and everyone comes flying in at speed. The wakes were unbearable. Unsure if it would get better in the evening, we managed to get dockage at Cuttyhunk and left. We stayed at the dock last year and enjoyed our stay. It's the only way to go here. Also: arrive fully provisioned. You can get excellent fresh fish and a few sides; take-out of cooked food is available with a long wait; but there are no sit-down restaurants or groceries other than a tiny convenience store that you can't even enter. Lots of mask requirements here too. (2021)
You can’t do better than the Black Dog Wharf. Super service from the friendly staff. Everything you could possibly need is right at your fingertips: Black Dog Bakery, Tavern, and retail shop; Stop and Shop a 3-minute walk; excellent fish market; and restaurants and shopping very close by. If you have bikes it’s a great ride out around West Chop. Bonus: swimming beach right at the dock. We were able to swim right off the boat. Enjoyed watching the ferries and the launch come & go. It’s quiet and scenic. Yes, they serve alcohol in Vineyard Haven restaurants but be sure to bring your own adult beverages for the boat. There is not a package store in town-you have to go to Oak Bluffs. Otherwise, perfection! We’ll be back.
Great spot in the heart of beautiful downtown Newburyport. The dock person who checked us in was friendly and helpful. She was there to take our lines and check us in upon arrival. You should be comfortable being sociable with passers-by as many will stop and chat about your boat. This is part of the fun of being there! Easy walking distance to many great restaurants and shops.
Once again we had a great stay in Edgartown. The mooring field is beautiful, with a nice view of the sunset. The shopping is great. We had an excellent meal at The Atlantic which has great outdoor dining. Fun to dinghy to Katama Bay and walk over to South Beach; or, dinghy out of the harbor to Chappaquiddick and Cape Poge Bay. Absolutely gorgeous and pristine beaches and scenery. Can’t go wrong here. The only downside is a very crowded dinghy dock-be prepared to climb over three other dinghies or just use the launch.
We stay at Kingman every year and it's always a pleasure. The staff is friendly and always there to help. We always get a great meal at The Chart Room where this year there is plenty of outdoor seating and CDC guidelines are being followed. Nearby Bassett's Island has a nice beach with warm water. It's an all-around great place to visit!
This is much more than a handy stop-over on the way to Martha's Vineyard. The dockhands were waiting for us upon arrival. We brought bikes and enjoyed biking the length of the canal-the access is literally right there at the marina. We highly recommend The Pilot House Restaurant, which has awesome indoor and outdoor dining-plenty of it-with a sunset view. There is also a beach within walking distance and it's fun to sit on the breakwater at the canal entrance and watch the boats come and go. Restrooms were super-clean and all CDC protocol is being followed. Wish we had stayed longer!
Fairhaven Shipyard makes it easy...good communication, help waiting for us on the dock upon arrival, and a clean, welcoming facility. We enjoy walking to Fort Phoenix State Park where there is a nice beach and you can watch the boats come and go from the harbor. We enjoyed a superb meal at nearby Elisabeth's Restaurant.
Overall a really fun time at OB Marina! We had a great slip (#20) for people-watching. It was convenient to everything: restaurants & bars, a little grocery store, and all the Circuit Ave. shopping. You have to back into the slip so be prepared for that kind of tie-up. A dockhand was waiting to help us get in. It’s a fun vibe, friendly neighbors. We did not have any issue with noise late at night.
Great location close to town. Yes, there can be a ripping current and upon our arrival there was also a stiff wind. But a competent dockhand was right there to assist us and we docked successfully. Traveling in a group of 3 boats it was fun to all be docked together as per our request. We are self-contained on our boat and so the restroom didn’t matter but there is only one toilet and shower. This place cost significantly less than the other choice (Chick’s) and is so much less walking. We will be back. Lots of great restaurants & shopping literally at your door.
