I write this review with a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve always enjoyed stays at this marina. What happened was quite simply a one day slip in my schedule due to a need for repairs. We’ve all been there. The problem is that my request fell under the 72 hour cancellation policy. The request was a few hours short of that minimum. I did not request a refund only a credit for a future date. I was flatly refused, repeatedly. I found the lack of consideration for a customer inappropriate. Message: do not violate and marina rules, they are unforgiving at this marina.

Great stay! Bob, the marina manager could not be more helpful. Help coming in and help on departure. Even help driving us to pick up dinner. Can’t say anything more tha if you are traversing the Okeechobee water this is a must stay!

Our apologize for the difficulty you had upon your departure. We do not have a full time dockmaster and rely upon phone communication to render assistance. Based on our conversation prior to your departure it was indicated we could be on site in twenty minutes to assist but, you indicated you could manage. Excellent stay. Janner was very helpful. Only disappointment was not getting slip requested. It was a confirmation by the DockMaster who left a week prior to my arrival. Thanks to Janner it all worked out.

Not a good stay: On arrival there. We’re two very inexperience dockhands. They didn’t understand spring lines or how to Properly tie off a cleat. The winds were high so it was more difficult than a normal day. I had to jump off the boat and with the help of a Yacht Controller I redid all the lines and showed them the proper methods. I asked when the marina opened in the am. I was told 8am. No one was there. The office was closed. We left on our own ( with help of my Yacht controller). Not what you’d expect from a marina that charges a love average $/ft rates. In fact while writing this I convinced myself I deserve a discount.

Captain, Thank you for being our guest at Danfords Marina. Our dock house does open at 8am each morning so I apologize if our staff was not on the docks for your departure. Our dock teams are thoroughly trained to welcome and depart a vessel, however, as you experienced the winds in the fall do change direction quickly and it can make that experience a little more challenging. Our team can always be reached on Marine channel 9, as well as, our front desk at the hotel is staffed 24 hours to call for assistance as well. All was well except non functional wifi. Staff was helpful in docking. Could not repair WiFi. Great location for Norfolk.

Thanks for staying with us at Waterside Marina. Sorry that you had issues with the Wi-Fi - we installed new antennas this spring and it has been working great - we have had some service issues with Cox Communications as they have been upgrading the downtown node. Our stay was as superb as the Prime Rib we had for dinner. It was as superb as the customer service that Louis provides. Always a favorite stop
