Nice stay, Calm night so the face dock was nice and quiet. Nice friendly staff.
Simple docks with limited facilities. The restrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Can be tough to get in when the current is running. Easy walking distance to many restaurants. No nearby groceries or laundry. (4+ miles). Good for an economical overnight stop.
Good stay. Quiet and a great brewery just behind the docks. There was no one to meet us and help tie up, but other than that a good stay. We've stayed here a few times and always like it. Easy access to downtown.
We were on the end T on "C" dock, with a North East Wind, VERY bumpy. The facilities are nice and the staff was very helpful.
We booked into a slip at the Tampa Convention Center. The docks here are nice floating concrete docks and you are just steps away from the Trolley and many restaurants. The issue here is a lack of security. We've been here two nights and had people board our boat around 2:00 AM both nights. Night one was a group of 4 young men, who we think were trying to steal items from the center console beside us and jumped on our swim platform. Last night, a couple decided that it would be fun to have the girl lie on the bow of our boat for a photo shoot. (our main bedroom is in the bow). There is no security gate, not even a sign saying private and the dock is shared with paddle boats, rental boats, booze cruise, and tiki boats. The dockmaster is said that the Convention Center is in charge of security, when we called Security last night, they said they would "send someone to check on the docks." We were up for over an hour calming back down, and we never saw them. So, nice facilities, but poor security. There are other marinas in the area, not quite as convenient, but I'd give them some consideration.
Nice marina. Beautiful floating docks. Excellent boater lounge and facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great stay! The service was great, our slip down on the main docks was excellent and very sheltered. Good services overall. All of the staff was friendly especially the Fuel Dock attendant. Thanks for the use of the courtesy van, we had a great time!
We loved Green Turtle Bay! First I must compliment the service department. We needed to have a prop straightened due to a log hit on the Mississippi. We called ahead and they put us on the schedule. When we arrived, we were pulled quickly, they put us back in the water so that we could stay on our boat, loaned us a van to take the props to the prop shop, and when we got them back next day, put them back on. The price was very reasonable. Great communication from Gayla and David. The facility, even in the off season was great. We enjoyed the two restaurants and took advantage of the Spa facilities for haircuts. The shower rooms were clean and convenient to the docks. We will definately be back!
Great town docks. Docks and staff are excellent. Lots to do and see within walking distance. The only ding, is no bathroom facilities.
Spent one night. The docks do work to dampen some of the waves, but larger boats passing will still rock you quite a bit. There were a lot of floating debris in the basin, both logs and vegetation. The restaurant is good, but pricey. Other options are in town, which is a 3/4 mile hike. This marina is mostly for day boaters going to the restaurant and a few locals. The shower and bathroom facilities are porta-toilets on a trailer in the parking lot. There isn't even a marina office, the dock master works out of his pick-up truck. Good for a night, or longer if you have relatives in Poughkeepsie. We stopped to do the "Walkway Over The Hudson" a 4.5 mile, two bridge loop on a converted Rails-to-Trails railroad bridge, and the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Spectacular views, and well worth the stop!
Overall we were pleased with Half Moon Bay. We were there for 10 days as we left our boat to go home for a few days. Steve the dock master is very good. Attentive, friendly, always willing to lend a hand. The docks are currently under repair and some are a bit rough, but that's being addressed. The seawall works pretty well except in very strong winds. We experienced 20 knot North Winds, that really rocked the docks. One note, the advertised 1/2 mile to town, is closer to a mile. However the new Apple Market is very good. Enterprise car rental was great, will pick you up, and gave us a great deal on a car. The only other comment is that even with staying 10 days, we didn't get a weekly rate, just the discounted AGLCA daily rate. (See Update below!) A good alternative to NYC rates, and does have good access. (Note that the train station is about 1.5 mile walk or a quick Uber ride. ) We would stay at Half Moon Bay again. UPDATE: The dockmaster reached out and adjusted the billing to a weekly rate, it was an oversight, and he was very gracious! I am changing the rating to 5 stars due to the excellent customer service!
The dock was good. Entry and exit was fine. They are in "transition". No Wi-Fi, No fuel dock, nobody to meet us, no pump-out. Laundry and bathroom facilities were listed but are part of the Yacht Club and we were told they were not available for transients. There were 50 amp connectors, but only one leg worked, so had to use two 30 amp outlets. The night wasn't bad and there are some good restaurants along the beach nearby. If you are pretty self sufficient, it's an OK place, but expensive given what you get.
