First class all the way around. Ken & Jerrmie run a great operation and were helpful all the way through. Can’t say enough positive. My new go-to in Savannah!
The location is what sells the marina, but they would do far better if they installed floating docks. The staff is friendly and are there to answer all your questions, but as I said, the floating docks make all the difference. Love it either way though. Did NOT find it too rough when we were there, but we are 102’ Smaller vessels may find the rocking a bit much.
We travel all over the East Coast of the US and all of the Bahamas, and Staniel Cay Yacht Club is, by far, our favorite place. The people are amazing, the facilities are great, the location…spectacular. Can’t say enough.\n\nWait…that is going to make more people come here. Stay away :-) \n\nJust kidding…SCYC you are awesome. When you are the only game in town it’s hard to get anything less than a 5 start review, but these guys deserve it. Excellent communication, easy in/out, beautiful location. Recommend going in during office hours. Your experience with the dock staff will be MUCH different that it will be if you go in later. Really loved this spot for two reasons. First, the location of where we were put…we were literally inside the inlet by just a few feet, and we had the absolute best view we have ever had in the Northeast, yet it was protected. The little beach across the parking lot was nice, but the second reason we enjoyed it was because of the people. The dock staff were first-rate, and the families that were fishing were fun to watch. Lots of good conversations with friendly people. You can bet that we’ll be back (assuming we can get a spot). It might not be a fancy marina, but they had great water and reliable electricity. Saybrook Point is a must-stop on our transits between New England and Florida every year. Not because we NEED to, but because we WANT to. Such nice people in the area, from the dockmaster and her team, to the people in the town and at the resort. Their ability to handle vessels of our size make it that much better because they know what we need and are happy to assist as much as they can. The town is small, but that’s more or less the norm for all New England towns, so you might have a challenge getting specific things you need from the local marine supply stores. But if you are looking for a first-class place to tie up for the evening, Saybrook Point Inn & Marina should be HIGH on your list. ~Capt. David, M/Y Magnum Ride
I have seen a few of the reviews that are, in my opinion, whining about this or that. From a superyacht perspective, Golden Nugget is awesome. The docks are SOLID, and it is easy to get to. The Jersey Shore is no joke when it comes to weather, and if you want a place that is centrally located within easy shot of NYC and not at the tip of Cape May, I can’t recommend it enough. It is a great marina! The area is so prone to shoaling that other inlets can create challenges, but this entrance both at the inlet and at the marina itself were a piece of cake, and the dock hands we had we great. Do we NEED to stop between Cape May and NYC? No. Do we…yes, Because cities like Atlantic CIty are fun, and facilities like Golden Nugget are appreciated. ~Capt. David, M/Y Magnum Ride
We make Annapolis Yacht Basin our only two-day stop when heading North or South on repositioning for two reasons…Middleton’s Oyster Shooters (a review for a different site), and the Annapolis Yacht Basin. The staff here is second to none, and they have plenty of superyacht slips to handle quite a few large yachts. As a captain it is nice to be able to have a facility where I know the staff knows what we need as yacht crew, and is able to accommodate pretty much any need we have. Their prices are very reasonable it remains our favorite stop. So much so that if we can’t get in, we skip Annapolis all together. One of our favorites! Having a new crew this season I was curious to see how they would like Beaufort Town Docks. As suspected, they said “that is a must-stop” on every trip north and south.” The only thing that stinks is that we seldom stop for more than one night when moving the boat. Kudos to Luke and the team at DiMillo’s in Portland. The location is perfect for guests who can’t walk too far to enjoy the old port area, and their prices can’t be beat. Really appreciated that they can “stack them in” to have enough room for several large motor yachts at once! Really appreciated the hospitality we received at Cobb’s. Didn’t think we would line a marina on the Chesapeake in that area on that weekend. We did, and we didn’t regret it. They even ran to the hardware store for us before it closed (and before we arrived) to get us something. Who does that??? Really glad to have found them. Might not be the fanciest marina, but they sure know how to take care of their guests!
We came for a night, and ended up staying a week. Not on purpose, but mechanical issues got us and we needed to repair before moving on. Kudos to Henry for a great stay. At 100’ it’s hard to find spots along the ICW in the more “out of the way” places. Enjoyed our stay and all that Henry did to try and make the extended stay more enjoyable. Appreciated the golf carts! While we didn’t fuel up, the REASONABLE rate to pump out the hold tanks was appreciated. Love it! First time we visited this particular marina on Block Island, and all I can say is that we’ll be back. When you are 100 or bigger it is harder and harder to find spots. This marina is nice, quiet, protected and manned by exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Can’t say enough good about it.
As a super Yacht Captain one of the challenges that I always face is finding a Marina for a vessel over the size. So when weather forced me to change plans, I thought I would check out Bristol, and was so glad I did. The town has spent a lot of money installing a first class dock capable of holding several large vessels, with very easy access to the town, and wonderful on-site facilities. The thing I appreciate the most though, was the hospitality from the Harbor Master. Normally these guys are so busy that they don’t have time for you, but Bristol is a different story. Really very happy to have given it a shot, and you can bet that I will be back.

Kudos to Steve and crew at SH Plymouth for a perfect, stress-free visit. Only issue we had was with a new electrical circuit. When it was discovered that it was not functioning as it should Steve immediately had it corrected. Additionally his dock team was exceptionally professional and looked sharp. Probably the most professional group I have experienced. It was clear that Steve was not only concerned for getting us docked, but also for enforcing safety for his team. Major kudos to you Steve! A lot of things can go wrong when docking a 187 gross ton boat, and your keeping an eye out for your team was spot on.
No stay is ever perfect…but this one was pretty darn close to perfect. We stayed at Harbourside for three nights and could not have been any happier. The service from the marina and hotel staff was first-rate. The location to downtown…perfect. The view…wow! The docks…amazing. Just make sure that when you plan to go anywhere you CALL AHEAD for a taxi…they are few and far between in town. But the location of the marina is so perfect, you may not need to.
There is a reason Lewis and his team have so many repeat guests is because of the service and the atmosphere. As a superyacht, we don’t need to stop…but we go out of our way to hit Coinjock every trip. It’s like stopping in to see family every trip north or south.
A+…in every way. First of all, the town is beautiful. But the facilities are wonderful. Jeff and his team go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. We will most certainly be back!

We picked Safe harbor newport Shipyard for our seasonal stay and can’t say enough about it. Charlie and the dock team run a tight operation and are exceptionally accommodating. Best part for the crews is free beer Friday and their cookouts they do once in a while. It will be our home in Newport every season!

Love it! David was so helpful and communicated above and beyond. Gave us a lot of good local information about the surrounding area on and offshore. He provided all of the information we needed for a safe arrival given the nasty current. Perfect location for exploring town. Would not recommend for smaller boats, but anything large that is not impacted by the waves is good. We’ll be back!!

Being the Captain of a large motor yacht you come to appreciate professionalism and knowledge when it comes to the dockmaster. I have to give major kudos to Frank who contacted me well ahead of time and was talking to me about shore power locations, whether or not we wanted to give him the loop or the bitter end of the mooring line, you name it, it covered it before we ever arrived. So it make bringing a 102’ into the marina a breeze, and the docking was seamless. Can’t say enough about the experience. We’l be back for sure. Thank you Frank. You are a great ambassador for the city.
