NoReportMy boat information clearly indicates a draft of 6β. I was assigned a slip with a low tide depth of 5β. I told the dock master upon tying up and he just said that that was the only slip he could give me. Bottom was mud/sand so I was able to stay, but had to time my departure at 7:00am so as to be able to get out.
I donβt think this is acceptable.

On behalf of Cedar Island Marina, I would like to apologize about your stay with us. The last soundings we did in October showed 7.2β of water in this slip at MLW. We went and physically stuck it today and it is showing 6.1β at MLW meaning that it shoaled in a lot more than we were aware of. When you originally stated that you were unhappy with this slip, we did offer to have you move farther out, which you declined. We should have put you into that slip first, but again our records indicated that slip should have been ok for you. You are correct that all of the material in our basin is very soft and fluffy silt, there are no rocks. So while this situation would not have caused any damage to your vessel, I do understand the anxiety and unhappiness that was caused by it. Please accept our apology and I have also gone ahead and rebated you 50% of your dockage, which may take a few days to process on Dockwa. β Kris Shapiro, General Manager
