To the broader boating community and particularly to those from St. Simons Island and Savannah, where I've lived for the past 23 years, I want to share an important message. As a business owner and seasoned boater, I strongly encourage the Jekyll Harbor Marina owners to invest in their staff's training in management, communication, hospitality, and customer service. Jekyll Island is a wonderful destination and a convenient stop for boaters from the Atlantic and ICW. However, my experiences lead me to question if boater safety and hospitality are always prioritized, especially for those of us who are transient, as opposed to local supporters. Boaters are inherently adaptable and capable of handling various challenges, from tough weather to less-than-ideal marina management, so this is more of a cautionary note than a deterrent. It's also important to acknowledge the bright spots in these experiences. A heartfelt thank you to Jovan at the marina, whose exceptional service and spirit have been a consistent highlight over the years, both while living in St. Simons Island and now in Florida. His efforts are a testament to the positive impact that dedicated individuals can have.
Chris, the Harbour Master, and his team do an amazing job caring for boaters. We love the Isle of Hope location - a beautiful and historical place. Easy access to Savannah and a REAL bakery "around the corner." We strongly recommend this stop that is worth every moment. PS. The courtesy car is a BIG deal and much appreciated. It is a great location with restaurants and even a bakery within easy walking distance. A resort atmosphere and great spaces to take walks with the dogs which we enjoyed. We would highly recommend this marina. We wish to extend our thanks to Mason Lemon, the Harbourmaster, who handled a difficult situation proactively and professionally. The city and marina deserve all the accolades they receive. This is a well-managed marina with a friendly and helpful staff. Restaurants and fun shopping are within blocks away. We cannot say enough about this picturesque community. Maggie and Bear, our two Goldens LOVED their morning walks. I wish we could have stayed longer, but alas ... there was no space, and, besides, it was someone else's turn to enjoy this special place. Thank you for your hospitality. Moon River.
A great Marina that is well managed with a team that knows what they are doing. The courtesy shuttle to downtown and the grocery store was appreciated beyond measure. The marina's narrow, unstable metal docks made it difficult to secure the boat, especially due to strong winds. Despite requesting assistance, no one was available to help us. Additionally, we weren't provided with the necessary gate security information. When we realized we needed a code, the marina staff had left for the day. Not having the code is not the end of the world, but it underscored the level of services the marina offers. Given these challenges, I would advise transient boaters to explore other options.
We are giving the marina five stars because Jack, the dockmaster, did a great job helping us dock during the storm. He is a very knowledgeable dockhand who knows what he is doing. We appreciated his communication and professionalism. Thank you, Jack.
Great location, but your boat will rock as the ferries come and go. It is not the end of the world, but something to keep in mind depending on the size of your boat. The staff is not overly friendly, it would have been nice if they were, but it it was in the middle of their season, so they did not have to be friendly :) The destination is a great experience.
What a great experience, starting with pre-arrival with an email from Greg, the Dockmaster, giving us clear directions and personally welcoming us after his crew helped us dock. Mystic Seaport Museum is a "must-do" with the Mystic Seaport Museum Marina a "must-stay." For those enamored with maritime lore or history aficionados, Mystic Seaport Museum is unlike any "museum" we have visited. It is an experience. Thank you for your hospitality. P.S. Kudos to Matt and his team for their exceptional resourcefulness during the storm. While every other marina declined us and Charlestown was at capacity, Matt ingeniously rearranged several boats to accommodate us. Charlestown Marina stands out as exceptionally well-managed, featuring excellent docking facilities in a prime yet tranquil location. While not situated amidst tourist hotspots, it's conveniently accessible via a short bike or Uber ride. We relished the serene, aesthetically pleasing, and secure environment. We fully intend to return and wouldn't hesitate to endorse this marina to fellow boaters.
Great Marina, staff, and the location could not be better. Stepping off the boat puts you in the middle of everything. Quite amazing. Recommendation to Management: Please replace or take the tattered US flag down face dock. I am sure it is just an oversight, but it is a sad sight.
We appreciate the Marina accommodating us when we had to leave early due to our concern about the weather. This is a narrow channel to the marina so pay attention to the markers and watch the tide. Thank you for your hospitality.
A well-managed marina with a team that understands the meaning of customer service. Ben, thank you for helping us with a crew to clean the inside of our boat. They were amazing and much appreciated. Great staff, excellent launch service, scenic, and a lovely town. The only challenge was that the boat was rocking all night in the mooring field, and it was a calm evening. Our boat weighs 110,000 lbs, so it is not a small boat. The view was fabulous, but there was a "price to pay" - just something to consider. Not the end of the world.
An outstanding Marina with qualified staff. The floating docks are wide and in excellent shape. The location could not be better. Bike and walking path literally at the front door. Easy walk to a host of restaurants. A lovely city, and we look forward to returning. Thank you for your hospitality.
A great marina with a staff who are focused on customer service. Imagine our pleasant surprise when a team member showed up this morning to collect our garbage. Are you serious? What a treat. Easy access because of the well written directions from the marina and a clearly marked channel. We loved the view and the location. How often can you sit on your boat and see a big part of history: - the Plymouth Rock Memorial and a replica of the Mayflower that was build in England and sailed across the Atlantic. Well done team. We appreciate your attention to detail and hospitality. We hope to be back.
A nice marina in the middle of everything. A beautiful area for relaxing and enjoying the Rhode Island coast. The view from the lighthouse is spectacular. I suggest a minimum two day stay. The marina staff were great. Thank you for your hospitality.
Excellent Marina with floating docks, positively the widest docks we have seen. Easy docking and well-managed marina. We would stay there again.

I give the Marina five stars for docs and services but three stars for value for money. Here is why: I understand that transients pay a high fee but ......Unless you are willing to take Uber or walk three plus miles - which is not a big deal in the winter, but in summer, walking this distance is something to think about. With this in mind, pay an extra dollar per foot, and although the municipal marine doc is fixed docs, they are in the middle of everything. Easy to walk to restaurants and museums. We stayed because we had to fuel, and the best fuel price for the most part on the FL west coast is just down the creek from the Marina. Thank you to Harborage Marine for your hospitality, great staff, and well-managed Marina. I think this will be an awesome long-term option!
