We have been here many times over the years as this is a wonderful marina. Jeff and his staff do a great job with fuel, helping you dock and anything you need. There are all floating docks, spacious clean and beautiful bathrooms and lounge, and a lovely well kept pool. Fuel dock easy to get to. If I lived closer I would keep my boat baji-naji here. Since I don't, this is a favorite spot when cruising this part of the Bay.
Excellent facility. Friendly staff. Large campus. Nice restaurant on site. Quieter than the sister campus. There is a shuttle service which will give you a ride to the grocery store for provisions.
Repeat stay, on a mooring ball this time which was great. Would have been nice to have the head codes and wifi but we arrived late and had dinner reservations. Love the restaurant La Vela!
Small marina, fixed piers, local restaurant unfortunately closed the night we were there, as many places are on a Monday night.
Excellent marina, great on site restaurant. If you are here a few days, there is not much else. Close to Yorktown, but not always easy to get an Uber. We walked out to route 17 for breakfast at a nice diner, and were able to Uber to Yorktown from there. Lovely pool. We were here during an unexpected squall with high winds and our boat was secure. Friendly mariners for whom this is home port were helpful post storm when we needed a ride to the local hardware store. The marina store has some items, but not extensive.
Repeat stay at this excellent marina, great dockhands and staff, awesome restaurant on site, with several more within walking distance. Food Lion within walking distance for providers.
Repeat stay. Excellent marina, helpful dockhands, excellent office help, clean and nice bathroom facilities, and laundry room with free laundry! Great restaurant on site. We were here a few more days than intended thanks to Hurricane Debby. They are great about receiving and holding packages. Wish we could be a Safe Harbor member, we love all the Safe Harbor marinas, but home port is Havre de Grace. Would love to see an associate membership for those of us who sail the Bay, or at least a 'tour' T-shirt with all the Chesapeake Safe Harbor marinas on it. Will definitely be back.
Excellent facility, floating docks, walking distance to many restaurants. Dock master very helpful with docking and dining recommendations.
This was a return visit. Great place to hang out for a day or three. Staff is always helpful.
Easy on easy off of the face dock. Great dock master and dock hands of needed. Plenty of depth, diesel available, great restaurant on site and another excellent restaurant within walking distance. We love staying here and will do so anytime we are in the area. It is a great place to start or end a Potomac journey
Excellent marina, all hands very helpful when my engine cut out and we had to get my sailboat safely to dock, and again when moving baji-naji to her assigned slip. Appreciate the prompt, professional help in offering assistance to troubleshoot the issue. Great restaurant on site and others close by. They offer shuttle to town as well. Would stay here anytime I am in Cape May
Moorings full on Labor Day weekend, but for a reduced rate we were able to anchor just past the moorings and behind the breakwater, and had full use of the launch and the shore amenities. Very helpful phone call to arrange this and for guidance on where to anchor and go as this was our first time here. Would come back again!
Nice mooring, great launch service. Interesting floating dock for pumpout. For such a large mooring field, consider emailing an overhead picture with mooring locations circled. We've never been here before so it was a bit of a hunt to find the mooring. Beautiful spot to be in.
Great moorings, love the overhead photo for our mooring location, excellent guidance on how to approach the harbor and deal with the 5' hump off Red 10. Did not use any services as there was a storm, but we felt snug and secure
Great mooring, lovely harbor. Gorgeous sunset
Staff was great, pumpout boat quick and efficient, nice floating docks. Fuel dock has high speed or regular for diesel. Decent restaurant on site. Nice clubhouse. Second visit this summer, will definitely be back when in the area.
Les Black is an excellent dockmaster. Great directions on where to go to find Halsey's marina, lovely slip, beautiful marina with lovely sunset views. Great water pressure to wash the salt off the boat, excellent facilities with 3 large commercial washers and dryers. Les gave great recommendations for dinner and where to provision. Highly recommend!
Love the overhead photo of where our mooring was, great location. Launch driver was terrific, good restaurant recommendations. Highly recommend if you don't want to be dockside. Plus boat and people watching is fun in Newport!
The floating docks require you back into a narrow slip and tie to pilings. No finger piers, need a swim platform to get on and off the dock. Great fellow boaters and Harbormaster team to help you get in or out. No mobile pumpout, and getting to the pumpout on the dock is tricky as the docks are usually occupied. Let the Harbormaster crew know and they will sort it out for you. Beautiful simple beach and boating community. Fantastic seafood at the fish markets.
Many moorings, we were a bit far but in a beautiful mooring spot and there was a launch service in and out of town for $5pp per trip. Lovely town to visit, Stop and Shop a 3/4 mile walk from the docks for provisions and lots of restaurants, shops great ice cream and a local liquor store in easy walking distance.
Lots of moorings, great launch service til 11p, love Provincetown! So much good food, shopping and entertainment. Lovely boaters lounge outside with fire pit and large screen TVs. Saw there was reasonably priced laundry but did not take advantage. Close walk to town and all it offers. Great stay, will return
Narrow fairways, non existent wi-fi but great dockhands and staff. A lot of wake from harbor traffic. Great location, short walk to town for anything. Excellent coffee roaster (Bard Coffee) makes Portland a worthwhile visit. Ate at DiMillo's for dinner, very good.
Outstanding harbor, Harbormaster and launch services. Great moorings that kept us safe through a thunderstorm with 40+kt winds. Stayed 7/26-30. Had to move mooring balls as we ended up staying due to unexpected bad weather. Leslie at the Harbormaster's office could not have been nicer. We had one night in Ten Pound which was a bit rocky due to wake from all the boat traffic, the rest in Inner Harbor which was great. The town is wonderful, well worth a visit. Great restaurants, shops (awesome shoe store, Mark Adrian) and a wonderful chocolate shop, Turtle Alley. Highly recommend a visit to Gloucester!
Wonderful facility, excellent dockhands (Keith was very helpful). Had a few too many administrative snafus to be 5 star, including communication regarding the free launch l, how to obtain fuel and booking pumpout. Would definitely stay again if in Boston Inner Harbor.
Stayed on a mooring and the launch staff was great. They showed us where our mooring ball was and ferried us to town right at the Mayflower ll dock as it was late in the day and we didn't want to miss touring the iconic vessel. The town is youthful and not just a tourist spot. Many restaurants nearby as well PYC offering food that evening. Great stay, thank you
Dockhands were excellent and helped us get securely tied up. As we were on the older docks, they had a fender board for us since the tide swing is 6ft. The docks there were a bit tired and the wifi spotty at best. However we were right by the shipyard and it was really fun to wander the grounds at our leisure after hours. Excellent coffee shop just outside the Seaport. Easy to come and go after hours as security monitors the after hours gate.
Excellent staff, very helpful and attentive, especially Tom. I had a call from Alyssa to confirm draft, as it is just 6 ft at low tide. Great communication throughout. New floating dock is nice, however after hours there is a fair bit of traffic as folks come in from moorings looking for a temporary spot to load their boat for an outing. The fuel dock is not yet operational and the wi-fi is spotty at the transient dock. The town is lovely, we had excellent meals at places recommend by the marina and by Tom. There is renovation ongoing and I am sure by next year it will warrant 5 stars.
Lovely harbor. We were packed in on the floating dock, and the staff and other boaters were very helpful. SYC club house is beautiful, a bit of a walk from the docks but with laundry, heads and an excellent restaurant Very much enjoyed our dinner there. Stonington Borough is an easy walk with shops and restaurants for breakfast and lunch. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is the lack of wi-fi at the docks. Our phones had no signal and without wi-fi we had to walk up to the club to get weather updates. Stormy couple of days.
Lovely marina. My favorite floating docks as they are nice and high so I did not need a step to get on and off my sailboat (high freeboard). Great ship's store and boutique. Great Galley cafe with awesome view of Norwalk River/Harbor. Only downside was that the dryer died just after I put a load of wash in, but with the great breeze we hung a clothesline and dried in the cockpit of our boat. A short walk to Nik's, a 40+ year favorite from when we lived nearby. So sad Nik's is closing after this season.
Wonderful facility, great staff, helpful information about local shopping and restaurants. Marina store had cleaning supplies I was looking for, seemed well stocked. Excellent clean heads. Nearby restaurants were lovely with Liberty House better than Maritime Parc. A great stay and would return anytime I am in the area
Great marina with wonderful people and nice floating docks. Gorgeous surroundings. The fuel dock/pumpout area is not obvious until you are there. The heads/showers were clean and nice, there was a lounge with coffee and water, and we were able to borrow the marina car to get a delicious Thai meal in Kilmarnock as well as make a provisions run to Food Lion the same evening. Definitely recommend this marina and will be back!
Delightful small marina with an attentive staff that stays late. Moderate walk to town, with golf carts available.
Beautiful location, outstanding dock master Nico, who gave great instructions on how to get in and find our slip. Fairways are a bit shallow and the channel coming in has shoaling so if you draw more than 5'7 you may not want to chance it. Karen from the office called to double check our draft after we submitted our reservation, and suggested we come in at high tide, which we did. Nico let us know which side of the fairway was deeper We left at high tide as well with no trouble. Beautiful pool area with bar, nice clean large bathroom area with showers. Across the street is Red Eye Dock Bar with live music as well as Dessert First and Harris Crab House.
We got very lucky to get a slip on short notice during the Boat Show weekend. Not cheap, but the location is fantastic. Dusty was great and our dock neighbors were very friendly. We didn't explore the onsite amenities, but they seemed extensive. Knock off a point for a troublesome wifi, which shouldn't be an issue in 2021.
These guys are the best. Great young crew on the weekends.
We came in under adverse storm conditions, and the dock hand was adept at tying us to the outer dock. Once the storm passed, we moved to our assigned slip. Everything is still top notch. Ketch-22 is good, and the store across the street has good supplies and sandwiches.
This is a very basic marina, and delivers exactly what is necessary. They did not respond to phone or VHF, but were helpful once we arrived. This is also the least expensive marina we've been at on the Bay. A great value if you don't need frills.
Friendly people and very nice docks. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and they were swamped at the hi&dry and so they didn't respond to hails. Once we got that straightened out, everything was wonderful.
Dock hand was extra helpful. Check-in was very informative. Loaned us bikes and a courtesy car. Beautiful grounds, still being upgraded. All that is missing is a restaurant, which we're told will be ready next season. We'll be back.
We came in late in mid-May, just after re-opening. The staff was really helpful and provided us with a easy-access slip. As we went in search of dinner (take-out!), one of the crew reminded us that there were bikes to borrow. But the best part, when we called in, we mentioned we needed to obtain something unique. By the time we arrived, they had purchased what we needed and handed it to us. Service above and beyond any expectations.
